Brought back so many memories! I used to get some of my cooking utensils, water pots and other decorative pieces from this place when I lived in Bangalore for 6yrs!
Very much respect this fine lady for her dedication to carry forward the legacy of her forefathers. She is passionate about keeping this ancient craft alive, despite the many constraints the potters face, such as lack of space, the recurring losses they incur when it rains heavily , and flooding follows, which ends up in a substantstial amount of their pottery getting tragically washed away. Lack of government incentives, such as financial support or initiating schemes to keep this craft alive in a manner that it generates a decent income for these talented artisans is something the Karnataka government should seriously review and implement , along the lines followed by The Tamil Nadu &Andhra governments respectively. The lady potter has expressed the difficultues the potters community face in a very convincing manner. What shines through distinctly as she talks, is her pride in her profession and for being part of a rich, vibrant and ancient legacy. Congratulations Ma'am.❤ My best wishes to you , and hope very much that all your prayers will be answered.
