really good review, nice camera shots, the camera is perfect but it doesn't have a 1/4 screw hole which is so sad for me, as I want to use it quite a bit for timelapses and generally mounting it onto a tripod. Also two questions: Can I shoot while it's charging? And, how long does the battery last while doing a timelapse?
Hi I got the camera but the yi app connects to the camera but no image is displayed I tried all the cameras but there is no 4k discovery on there yet? Any solutions the other yi original works OK.
Linus,I think nobody here know that imx 179 is a pretty old sensor and it is used in mobiles released like 4 years ago! Also max resolution for that sensor is 8MP only!I think the images are interpolated to 16MP!anyway great review as usual!

I received mine yesterday from Amazon UK for £35.99. I like this very much and the quality is outstanding for the price. I do not like the microphone (sound) as it is really cheap sounding. Also I am told there is a firmware update next month to make the scrolling easier on the touch screen. That is a little erratic but I hope (as I am told) the new firmware will rectify a few teething problems. Also I cannot find any extras for this model yet but I hope they will be coming soon. If you want a waterproof case it will cost you as much as the camera cost. The waterproof case for any other YI camera will be no good for this because the case for this has a touch screen so you can use the touch screen with the case on. Not worth buying one without that because you will be stuck without the use of the touch screen. I think this is why they are so expensive because of the new technology waterproof case with a touch screen. I tried to look for a metal case for protection but I could only see one type with a small thumb bolt that will hold it in place from the bottom using the tripod thread which this one has not got so I gave that one a miss. I think the extras will be coming soon but I am not going to purchase a £45 waterproof case yet as these are far too expensive and eBay of course are cashing in on these.
no because yi lite has eis and more responsive. trust me because i have yi discovery and lite and go get 40$ more for eis no gimbal need. if u dont have money to spare then go for the orig one instead of this. discovery has a lot of noise btw.its yoyr own opinion but if you think discovery is better then go for it. :)

Does this have distortion Correction? If yes Im gonna get one. Also do you need to use a Waterproof housing to mount it on Sticks or Gimbals?

That 20fps to me feels really unusable... I'd much rather go with 1080 or 1440...
