I couldn't find a recap post showing all the cards at once, but it looked like these were all blue? That they would be manifestations in the air kinda follows. What of the other four colors though, and their perspective of the world? What if the same arcane substance that powers and maintains the skyships is toxic to the red factions, who live safely underground? Maybe the green and black factions live in harmony with the spiders, or the white faction overzealous in wanting to eradicate them.

This was a world devoured by the Eldrazi millions of years ago. That is what the spiders are, as that is what these beings perceived them to be. This would be a world that we get to see that had been consumed by the Eldrazi and left a desolate wasteland, with no life, no color...no hope. And yet...the theme here is that life finds a way. Rather than this plane of existence being wiped out, instead it is devoured and left alone. But life, color, and magic can always find a way. And so these ruined cities are the remnants of what came before. But while the Eldrazi were destroying the world, the people were destroying each other as despair settled in. They slaughtered each other for the smallest scraps of resources. Eventually, in a last ditch effort to save themselves, the people departed the ground in this Skyships.
The skyships were made to preserve the memories and essence of the people. Ertai was not just a captain, but the designer of these skyships. When the people boarded, they were given a cot to sleep on. There were not enough resources to keep people alive, but the spirit and essence of what they were could live on, small enough to maybe go unnoticed by the Eldrazi. It was a cold and calculated move, but one Ertai thought necessary for ANYTHING of their people to survive. The skyships drained the essence and life energy of its occupants and stored them away. Now they drift across the world, sprinkling this essence around, allowing it to sink into the ground again and bring life back to it. The overgrown trees that we see is first the touch of the color green, seeping into the world and revitalizing it with new growth.
And the chaotic storms and swirls of magic we see above these clouds is the result of this energy being released by the skyships. The magic and energy released by the now dead occupants is stirring the air that was left still and dead by the Eldrazi. What we are seeing...is the new beginning of an old plane that had been previously destroyed by the Eldrazi, now growing once again to be reborn!

i was gonna guess airships becasue the ground has become so brittle in places, like we saw on some cards in the first return to Zendikar. not being able to travel on land, or at least not being too sure where to step when most of it is brittle, could send peoiple skyward. The Spiders being remnants of the eldrazi but adapted to walk on the brittle lattice below like spiders. The Red Floor Miracle could be Magma bubbling up and recreating solid ground in some places.

I was thinking very similar but my first thought was that, whatever calamity befell the surface, perhaps completely by chance those already in airships (perhaps a strong military tradition of dirigibles and airships in general existed on this world) survived completely by chance (I'm thinking something similar to Battlestar Galactica or the old "How much would it suck to be an astronaut on the ISS who just watched the world explode" kinda deal). Despite surviving, these scattered civilian and military remnants are in a LOT of trouble. As the twisted mockery of what would've been life reclaims the surface, it grows more and more dangerous. Everything from utterly overgrown ruins to mutated spiders make every supply run an extremely dangerous proposition.
But one of the survivors by the name of Ertai, a former admiral of one of the nations-that-were, holds together these shattered remnants and does his best to provide for them. Even out of calamity, new life springs. And amongst these battered refugees, there exists hope. A rumor of a planned contingency known as the "Red Floor" spreads, that would purge the surface of all dangers all at once, and deliver to them the true safety of returning to the surface across which their forebears could once proudly stride.

I have to say, The Hanged has got to be one of the most intimidating cards I've ever seen an AI design from a Ludo-narritive (Mechanics-to-flavor) perspective; just this big ass zombie so feared it's referred to with a "the", that feasts on whatever it can, itself included.
On that note, you were definitely ignoring mechanics too much, though they shouldn't be treated as more important then the art/flavor text, there was a lot of creative potential surrounding what the cards *did* that was lost, I feel, especially in terms of death, withering, and rebirth.

I love this alot and would love to see this done again. A slighty suggest, taking the color and affect of the card in to the flavor look could help flesh out some things too (instead of power or how silly the affect is. a little example and also just for fun
    1) Overgrrwon Thrull: its green so its the power of nature and it seems to point to wild nature growing out of control with these thrulls getting even more powerful as you get more creatures. show that maybe the nature is ever expanding out of control
    2) Ruined city (also love this card): This card can only make colorless man pointing to a lack of color identy, and the affect of pay 1 to sac a creature to make a 1/1 human points to new life for humans is hard and comes at a great cost. It seems push a very hollow feeling of suffering but being not black it lacks black drive of power and self actualization and growth through power. its more a void and other worldly hollow city.
    3) the hanged: This is a black creature that is slighty over stated but needs you to sac a creature. this points to either a creature that was betray hungers for more solos and will devour those close to it, or a possible other reading is that in the city that people are hang in almost a ritualistic way and its a beast that the town sends there damned or less desirable.
    4) Fathom Fleeetsworm: its blue and a human pirate thought it looks very undead point to someone adventures yet knowledgeable in this relam. It has flying point to the airship theme and also shows that maybe trading and business is done in the skys away from the growth and city. it also has the affect of putting a counter on a creature other then its self when its attacks. which I think shows it being someone sort of one that does business or something that it counts on others either for business or support
    5) fleetsworn: Blue pirate again so it points to blue this set being a them around these pirates of the sky and that those with knowledge may have taken to the sky and fled form the damager of lands. and the affect is to draw a card which is knowledge but it lets you choose the player, pointing to a possible bond or cooperation with between pirates. As if there are ones to share what they have.
    6) Skyship: blue card and human solider. Which shows that their ships are ready for combat by the type. but being 1/1 it feels that there standard ships are more small and fast to make up for it. also it tops for blue red (my fav color par) which is a color par of creativity and discovery. this points to the sky people as resource and creative lot and can even use there ship to create mana which can be seen as use in creative ways . This can possiblity show the sky people are more resource but may lack the power to take out the nature and throughts from below.
    7) Azima: blue wizard points to one of great knowledge and one that may be possibly be grounded though she talks aobut know knowing spiders which may means she is in the air. She is not very strong as a 1/1. but the affect of being a coutner spell as needed, points to a great deal of knowledge and power in that knowledge. And yet even with all that knowledge st still seems to fear ground and spiders enough to risk flying which we are told is unsafe.
    8) spiders: blue instant? the color on this is weird but may point to some sort of spider that attakcs the mind. it also hits a creature for 1 so tis small but fast as instant and exiles so it may be even more dangerous or has the uses lose there mind or soul so much they cant recover it even with resurrection
    9) Ertai, kicker the skycatain: blue rogue. so the first non pirate we have seen which may point to this being a more heroic person we are seeing. they are flying which fits the sky people theme. and they have the affect of untaping a creature before combat which shows that ertai is willing to give a hand out a fellow man even on the other side of the table. I think this points to a very compassionate for fellow man sky community who gets strength is willness to work with eachother along with creativity that help them take to the sky
    10) refocusing focus: blue instant suffel two cards from your graveyard to library (a weak affect) this can be view as recovering knowledge or trying to search for something lost though its not easy as it doesnt come back in hand. To recover in this world may be more work as you need to dig harder in to libary to recover anything but you can still recover what was possibly lost.
these were more just for fun reading, I will state that its going to be harder to do this kind of reading if the affect is non sense or doesnt read right or cant be resolved. But I think for some of these (I really like ruined city), you can find a little bit of bread crumbles of symbolism.

Beautifull imagery of a world rebirthing itself.
The genre of post-postapocalyptic world is so rare, but so cool aswell, to me.
Not sure if i would interprit the fleetsworn as undead, but i do agree with them being remnants of an old world.
The ground is slowly becoming inhabitable, expeditions starts taking place, plants start to grow.
Sacrifing the ruin in order to make a human fits the themes so well. It's not rebuilding, nor restoration. Instead it has to do with doing away with the old create something new.
In this way, i wonder if it would make thematicly sense to assume the destruction of the old world was partially it's own fault, perhaps it had something to do with the eldrazi, or perhaps the fabric of reality was torn assunder by the magical answer to atomic bombs: weapons/spells of never-before seen and unparraleled destruction, leaving the world inhospitable for a long time afterwards.

    • @bronzewalker7464
      @bronzewalker7464 2 роки тому +1

Also "Destroy/exile all non-flying creatures" is deff a spell in this set.
Same with a vehicle that gives the creatures crewing it indestructible.
Phasing out is gonna be a thing, even if just on a handfull of them.
A new type of land is going to be a thing: "Grow/time" lands: the tap for colorless, but after X turns they can tap for several types of mana.
      Eldrazi necromancer cosmic spiders....
There is a theme of "underground" that could be created, assuming the sky wasn't the only direction they could had avoided the surface.
And finaly: the enemy isn't a specific color, but colorless (eldrazi), maybe some remnants of those that refuses to let go of the old world (being represented by a few cards in each color, but never multicolored), and the natural obstacles that an unclaimed land would provide.
Instead there is a focus on the positive each color brings, and what they do in order to reclaim the world.
      (Yes, even black)

I tried making a plane using a bunch of different cards it gave me, and we made something that was eerily nihilistic and depressing. So I would like to give you a glimpse into a dream-like world fragmented into realms that all seek to answer the question of what to do in the face of the unknowable, the immortal, and the infinite. I would like to introduce you to Dystrionia.
Most it the cards we made by far were blue, which seemed like it was in a place that was almost like a paradise for it. Blue saw a world wrapped in an endless enigma for it to solve. It saw a world in which it could have all the time it ever needed to learn its infinite mysteries. An interesting quirk about Dystrionia is that things pretty much never die, which for blue means endless opportunity to obtain everything it could need to know every truth, lie, wish, and thought. I believe that blue's general outlook on Dystrionia can be summarized with the lore tab on the "Trust Trade" card, which reads "The reward of all, from the depths of sleep and dreams, shall be mine."
Given that the realms of Dystrionia are as a rule absent of death, figuring out how black could interact with this was interesting. While some of the cards were clearly general ambition, several of which interacted well by manipulating the mechanical and domineering structure flavor that showed up in blue, there were a few that helped to solidify an equally important and dark concept for this plane. This concept is that death is a commodity, not in the way of hired assassinations, but that people are willing to pay for the privilege to inhabit a truly dead body. There is a market for renting corpses to experience true nothingness for a while, a good which always ends allowing these ambitious dealers of death the chance to charge again. Most of this concept actually came from the card "Stinging Septic Field" which reads "If you find your grave full, you can get the power of the whole world. But you must give it back." - Locus of Dissent
Some of the earliest cards I got when making this plane were red cards, and it was difficult to figure out a place for them in this plane. Do they rampage across the realms causing meaningless destruction? Do they celebrate endlessly in a world that feels like it is waiting to end? While there were a few cards that had these traits, red actually developed in a pretty healthy way. Red on Dystrionia takes a strange sort of optimistic acceptance to the nihilistic nature of this plane. It looks at a world in which everyone is functionally immortal and finds joy similar to blue. However, while blue takes joy in trying to figure out what it all means and how it works, red finds happiness in the understanding that nothing about this world matters, allowing it to do whatever its impulses drive it to do. Particularly in the subterranean realm of Rimehorn, many red aligned creatures find a paradise simply doing things with full commitment and without consequence. Well, except for one thing. Dystrionia is arguably a plane that exists as a dream, possibly of some ancient eldritch entity, the Mystic Elder repeated in several of this plane's cards, or just some random mortal creature. While the black's grave market allows for people to temporarily leave the dream, akin to having peaceful sleep, the only true way to leave Dystrionia is to truly die in The Lowering. The Lowering appears like an empty desert with dark clouds always over head. It is filled with sinkholes that bury you under the sands if you wander into them. This is how things truly die and leave Dystrionia. While most other colors wish at some point or another to fall amongst the sands and wake up, including blue at times, red wishes to stay in its paradise with those it loves endlessly. It becomes confused and frustrated at the notion that someone it loves would rather leave to a world with structure and restraint, and it is in these cases where red tries to do everything it can to cling to that it loves. As shown on the "Balshan, Big Torment" legendary dragon card "As it turned, I felt the dragon's breath on my face, and my ears filled with the screams of those it was being torn from."
Green was the color that I got the least amount of cards for, which made finding a niche for green difficult on this plane where everything lives. However, I ended up having green be one of the key components of this world as the main reason why things never die. The green oriented realm of Aliveyha appears as a vast forest teaming with all manner of healthy natural life. It is also host to the Tree of Life, whose roots stretch out deep across all of Dystrionia. Some creatures know of this, with some even wanting to destroy it to collapse the realm believing it to be a prison of lies and illusions. Green is of course completely opposed to this way of thinking. So much so that it decided that it will force those who do not wish to be a part of the harmonious paradise to enjoy it whether they wish to or not. This is where one of my favorite cards "Root Wraith" comes in. It reads "Let the earth die, and let the tree of life die. Let the tree of life fall, and let the earth fall. Let the earth die, and let the tree of life fall." The last sentence repeats until the text runs off the card.
Finally, we come to white. I had no idea where white would go in Dystrionia. When a plane of chaos, immortality, and pointlessness exists, what does the color of order, religion, and morality fit? Well, it actually fits just like hit has before, as order, religion, and morality. White is a color that is determined to see Dystrionia for what it is, an alluring fantasy in which it is all too easy to lose yourself to the ever shifting world. It is the color most concerned with finding a reliable method to escape Dystrionia and helping lead others back to reality so that they may do the same. It looks at its surroundings and rejects the comforts it sees around it, finding inspiration in the valor of the legends learned by those who were once awake. The sounds of drums and the stories in their ballads help to rally their hopes and new champions in their rebellion against the world. In a way, white appears to oppose its own nature, yet is still very much recognizable as mostly familiar, if in a new light. This is why for white I chose the "Beat of Justice" card, reading "The virtuous amongst the heretics, the worthy among the heretics, the heretics of the Fist, the blood of the heretics, the way of the heretics."
Well, that's a bit of a walk through on Dystrionia. Sorry for such a long comment. I hope it served as a good example of the kind of fun stuff you can do with your worldbuilding by using these cards. Let me know what you all thought about these interpretations of the colors or any ideas you all had based off of these interpretations.

I did something similar a log time ago and got, a rat man who avoided death by sacrificing families (children included) seeing them as only rats and when he finally became immortal, he started losing himself. One of his flavor text was "if you cant kill me, i'll slit your throat" killing those who couldn't kill him, "death, please." Begging death to take him being rejected, and then with it ending in death calling him "greed". Another card i created was a character was all about death and growth, and one of her flavor text is "it blossoms into the light of day, each petal an example of an immortal in decline." And she was right. Funny thing is, the flower person was made before the immortal.

That was a very thoughtful thought experiment. The AI can generate some pretty meaningful cards with the right prompts.
To help the AI not get off topic I would suggest for the next video use the advanced settings maybe to set the card/creature type. If you know you want to make a specific legendary creature, then putting that in there could lead to some interesting results. I imagine a calling a card "Fleetsworn Skyship" and making it a vehicle could keep it coherent to the world being created.

One thing that's interesting to look at is the mechanical flavor of some of the cards. Such as Overgrown Thrull having the power and toughness of number of creatures meaning it draws it's powers from others, in a world that seems to be defined by ruin. Ruined City letting you sacrifice a creature to create a 1/1 human creature token implying that life is still here but in a survivalist state. The Hanged making you sacrifice a creature each turn also mixes in with the flavor text very nicely. While not all AI cards are going to have nice mechanical flavor it's something to look at whenever doing something like this.

This word befell something unthinkable, something foreign, and something holy. A god. But a god that did not belong. Vrestaga the god of insects and deadly poisons came from the plane of Theros. Her power grew intensely in Nyx and she became the most gifted dealer of death amongst all the gods. Erebos felt threatened by her, believing that she wished to take his place as the god of the dead. Erebos went to the wisest of all the gods Kruphix and pleaded for his assistance. Kruphix had already grown wary of Vrestaga because he believed she had upset the balance of power in the world. Kruphix also knew that that they could not kill a god. So Kruphix gathered an unlikely ally, a planeswalker. The two gods channeled their power through the planeswalker and using the planeswalkers spark they ejected Vrestaga from Theros. When Vrestaga landed on the plane of Obrinia she changed the world forever. Being the only god on the plane she achieved absolute authority over the very essence of the plane itself and began remaking it in her image. Her power seeped through the world like a venom. She spawned her Nyx born spiders and spread death to all reaches of the plane. The few surviving inhabitants of Obrinia abandoned theirs homes and took to the one place safe from the spiders… the sky. Vrestaga morphed the plane forever but her rule didn’t last long. Gods of Theros only exist based on the inhabitants of Theros believing in them and worshiping them. However with Vrestaga completely gone from the plane she was quickly forgotten about. With this her power fled quickly until she simply disappeared from existence entirely. Even though she died her presence still haunts Obrinia to this day. Her Nyx born spiders kill anyone that ventures to the surface and the landscape has forever been changed. The captains of the sky ships are beginning to get bold once again and many now dream of a day that they can once again live on the surface

    1) missing a Mana Cost,
    2) always some sort of an Artifact-Type, Contraption-subtype,
    3) uses the word "crank" instead of the tap symbol
I've tried multiple ways to "break" the AI adding in formulas, and messing with code values, however the most broken result is that phrase: "Named Neural Network". I have experimented with phrases like "Shy Neural Network" and "Hungry Neural Network" and while those do sometimes give similar results, they eventually do resolve and give legitimate cards. Same with "Named Neural Net" and "Named, Neural Network". I would almost call it an Easter Egg, but everyone I tell this to describes it as a bug or an exploit.
I'm actually quite curious as to why this combination of words could have such a drastic result especially considering that anyone could have accidentally stumbled across this phrase much earlier than me. If you can give any insight it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

This plane was once a utopia. Technology and society had progressed to an unfathomable degree. But, as an important skycaptain would later say, we never stop finding ways to hurt each other. Someone's research created some kind of malevolent, spider-like force. The major cities of this world were demolished, leaving behind various undead like zombies and thrulls along with mutated cannibals (those being the human tokens from ruined city that show up from sacrifice). Undead and carnivals seem to not agitate the spiders, as they "take just as much energy as a permanent that long" so they go unnoticed by the destructive forces. As the spiders spread, the people realized that their enemy only thrived on the ground. People begged to be "blown away" into the sky on the skyships controlled by the pirates. One of these people was a magic user named Azima who decides to acts as a scout back to the ground to see what life is like among the spiders, always worried about returning home to the skyships. The leader of the sky pirates who saved the people is Ertai, who is also the parent of the first child born after people fled to the sky. But there is still hope for this world. There is a fabled place with a red floor where it is believed the spiders cannot spread. The people of the skyships are continuing their journey towards the promised red floor so they may live again and reclaim their home from the spiders.

Since it is a ruined world full of echoes of the past I feel like flying and anti flying is big in the set. Perhaps even green would get some fliers.

I could see it. Something more organic being bread in the sky rather than skyships

@@DiceTry Since there are spiders with a cosmic internal, things that tried to escape to the ruin or survivors could end up similar. I could see a plant that grows and traps/creates clouds to grow it's roots into.

I used this technique to forge my own plane.
The gist of it is that two factions are at war. These are the Asura, a group of Naya-aligned warriors, and the Draugr , a black aligned clan of undead who apparently are the creations of a goddess named Tiamat who believed she was reforming the world for the better.
As long as anyone can remember, the Asura and Draugr have been at war. There had been a cataclysm a long while before, and when the Asura prayed to Tiamant to reforge the world and save them, the Draugr showed up instead and instantly started a war. At some point, the Asurians hire a lawmage to study the secrets of the Draugr, but he falls to the power of the Draugr. At a later time during the conflict, Jace and Chandra end up on this plane. Chandra instantly joins up with the Asura to fight the Draugr, but Jace leaves to research the true meaning of the war. But before he can find Tiamat's Forge and reveal to the goddess the horrors her creation has wrought, he falls into a cavern where he suffers for what feels to him like years but it only hours. Upon leaving, he is a husk of himself and falls to the Draugr. The human Asurians hold a summit to gain more allies at the stand of unbroken trees in a land of broken ground. The elves and dwarves of the world agree to join the war against the Draugr, and some orcs tag along. But a cowardly pacifist warns the enemy of the oncoming attack, allowing the lawmage of the draugr to lay a curse of winter blood on the land. The cursed battle comes to a head at the Rimefang Pass, where Chandra manages to get through to Jace. As the Asura and their allies hold off the Draugr, the planeswakers push into the goddess's forge. The goddess unmakes the Draugr and successfully reforges the world as was originally intended.

Nice video. But I have an important question: "Is the Baza part of this world, or does the AI create a separate world every time you use it?".
