I was about to pay $800AUD to buy a spare key for my 2004 Chrysler Crossfire (same build as Mercedes SLK) after one of the keys I had stopped working 8 years ago. Followed this video and did the button press during the ignition turn instead of the door and got it working! Thank you SO much!!!
Buddy thank you very much for uploading this video on youtube l need a remote for my car l purchased a 1995 W124 E320 sportline and it missing the remotes and no luck with the Mercedes Dealers here in Melbourne how much does it cost to order one on these remotes and from which dealer please
Hi Mahir, if you take your ownership papers, there is no reason they wont sort you out. I got mine within a few days. Not cheap but its original and worked within minutes. good luck Mahir
@@w116036 Thanks for replying back l finally found a dealer that will have to order one from overseas but they want $435 dollars for one remote with flip key its pretty expensive for a simple remote if it was a current model remote l would understand but for a simple remote with single button its very expensive.
Does your cabriolet have an MBSS factory immobiliser (551) fitted? This synching method (and even the other ones on the list) won't work on my 1994 cabriolet. Do you know where the RCL module is located? Thanks.
Hi! My car has that function, because the vin decoder shows up ”closing system with infrared key and driver door has the recirver. BUT someone lost the remote key.. So i wonder if i could get it to work with a ignition lock from another car with the infrared key 🤔
@w116036 I think you mentioned you got a replacement IR FOB from a dealer. Do you mind sharing what dealer, my local Mercedes dealer here in my town in the States says he doesn't know how to get them.
They said they do not have relationships with Siemens anymore (since 6 years ago) and so they do not make them anymore… as that one (infrared, 1 button) cannot be programmed, and it came from Germany already working, it’s a disaster!
Hi, I have a 94 W463. Only receiver for the key is in the rear view mirror that I can tell. I always had to point it at the mirror to remote lock / unlock. Today a mechanic changed the battery on the truck and when I picked it up the remote door locks don’t work. The iR light is on constant in the fob. Is this normal for unsync’d fob or it’s a different problem? When battery is removed from the fob the light stops in the fob. New battery in the fob made the light brighter but still constant. Thanks.
Hi Alex, although I have a w460 G, im not sure on the 463. That age would be the infrared I would think, but im not sure how to sync that model. I noted in my E class there was a 1993 year change I think where the way you sync the remote differs before and after this date. I dont think the light should be on the remote. I will see if I can also google!
Hi Alex, I dont know about this site but it does give some suggestions for other models. www.mercedes.gen.in/synchronising-single-button-ir-mercedes-key/ the other thing I saw was to check your infrared by recording it through a camera and see if the light is working or get an infra red sensor to check its working? finally, does it have a procedure on the manual to do it?
I went to buy such a key from my main dealer in London, I have a SL 129 1996, was told they stopped selling these remote keys years ago and you can’t even order them, all I have is one remote fob, if this gets lost then the car is junk status.
I was surprised i could still get this when I did. It wasn't cheap. I couldn't buy one for my 116 at the time which I would think is an easy key to cut. It's a worry as without it you are n trouble as you say

Thats the same price as getting it locally. I would avoid buying it overseas as if it's incorrect it's alot of money wasted.
Thank you for uploading the video, lm from South Africa l lost my key for w202 C220 1995 l have the car information where can l order the key
Wish ours had this. We never got remote locking/unlocking on the US w124.

Hello! Please could you tell me where did you buy it?

How much is the remote key that uve paid for?
Where can I get a infrared remote key for my car?

USA never had this. Only C-Class, S-Class, and SL.
@@nwezetx1 They did if you brought in an E-Series from Europe. That's what I am looking for solution.
Can I ask what you paid for the fob?
How much was this key from the dealer?
Hi, who sold you the remote please? MB declined the assistance and I am without it!
The dealer Francesco. The dealer will not decline unless they no longer make them which is possible.

Hello sir I am from India
I need same key for my Mercedes SL 320 year1995
How can I get?
You will have to visit your dealer with proof of ownership nikhil.
Where can I order one of those keys? I have all the documentation for my vehicle, but I lost a key and I want another.
the local dealer told me those keys were discontinued
@@cerrajerialamovil and w116036. That's what I was told too.
That is NOT key programming that is FOB Sync
True but it's what most people think when hearing the term
What if it's a lost
