- During the daytime run of To Tell the Truth starting in 1966, there was a brief period where a game would be dedicated to trying to find the real celebrity mixed in with two imposters. Everyone would have veils over their heads and their voices distorted in a bizarre manner that is honestly a little charming in how simple and silly it all looks. Tom Poston, Peggy Cass, Orson Bean, and Joan Fontaine are tasked with finding the real Kitty Carlisle (who had just returned from a vacation). Let's see how they do!!
I've never seen this before. Wonderful post
One of the Best TV game shows ever!
On videotape! How cool is this!
Do you have any more moments like this I’ve got a secret too please
I knew it was Kitty by the way she said Fledermaus
They should've had Arlene Francis on as one of the imposters, since she and Kitty were both such classy panelists on their respective game shows!
I'm assuming this is from an early GSN airing... did they not originally use a logo bug, or is that an error?
Yeah, for 1995 GSN stuff, the logo bug shows up for about a few seconds during the ending segment most of the time and that's it. It seems like it was used mainly like a "station identification"-type of thing rather than a constant bug. The font and color is a little different on that bug too, but otherwise it's pretty similar to the Winnie bug everyone knows. In fact, my Bennett Cerf on syndicated What's My Line? clip that I uploaded here a few months ago has that style of the Winnie bug if you're really curious to see what it looked like.
In 1978 I saw Kitty without hair & makeup. That was SCARY !!
What a disrespectful comment. She was almost 70 by that time.
Love Bud Collyer...can't stand Kitty carlisle
When did the daytime run switch to color?
Sometime in January 1967, from what I've heard.
no one asked about her 1930s movies
