Hey Guys what's up this is Parag and today I will show you how a step by step process to design vector portrait using photograph, I designed this vector portrait using a reference image. this tutorial is mainly focused on beginners who are new in adobe illustrator. this is not speed art like other tutorials, I have tried to explain everything. you can try and email me your results to [e-mail].

@@muchsalmina1227 Sorry man. It's a photo of somebody close to me and I don't think they would appreciate if I post it here. Although I can tell you that that the image had a lot of sunlight so that created some problems so if you use a different reference image make sure that it doesn't have too much sunlight or lack thereof...

I am only a few minutes in and this looks like an amazing tutorial with lots of useful information. My only problem is that I have a really hard time understanding what is being said. I have to go back a lot and try to listen again and again and sometimes I still have no clue what words are being spoken. Often times the video itself helps to figure it out, but not always.

Hi I know you placed this comment a long time ago but What I like to do is to use auto image tracing in illustrator to see where the shadows are and also to pick the colors. Hope this helpen!

Notes for amateur like me:
1. For sub layers, if its not auto, click ->[+] "new sub layer button in the bottom of layer section
2. Windows -> control, and windows -> toolbars -> advanced

26:24 ◾ Select all the paths you want to color > Pathfinder > Divide ( First one, bottom row ) >
Right click on your selection > Ungroup > Now you can select individual parts to color.
