I trained calves EVERY DAY for 120 DAYS and this is what happened… - Розваги
Last few months, I started doing 100,situps,squats,pushups,and, jumpingjacks every day. I have asthma so it was a hard start, Couldn't even complete half of it. now it's month 6 and im doubling everything, I enjoy the inspirational, and filled to the brim with passion, videos that you put out. Thank you so much for inspiring me.
Jesus, that's impressive!
Great determination. How has your body composition changed?
@@suhail45678 not as much as I could as I am still working on the eating change for the lifestyle, but I feel like I Can lift things much more easily now, For instance our air compressor at home used to be a cause for pause, now I can just lift it with one hand and walk it into the house.
@@MattDoesFitness Thank you! Now the next thing on my list is the eating lifestyle change.
@@Secret_Gaming_Man nice, I've tried something similar, it's hard. And my pushups go away if I dont do them for 2 days
Man you re such an inspiration, it's amazing to see how your passion got you into succeeding as a youtuber and as an athlete, and how you care about your dear people. Much respect
Appreciate the support mate 👌
@@MattDoesFitness welcome
I’m about 5 weeks post op with my ruptured achilles. The muscle loss in my calf is so depressing. Good to know that it’ll come back with some hard work. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this content! I’m 5 days post op, and this has been the best series I’ve found to help me out on how to physically and mentally wrap my mind around what’s happened and what to look forward to in recovery. I’m a former pro footballer with 3 world records set playing and more in the pipeline. Thanks you so much from across the pond!
Literally saved my mental bro😮💨 I’m 3 weeks into my full rupture , I play pro rugby and I thought this was the end of me! Thanks for the updates and staying strong!
@apa_athlete Have you returned to rugby since the injury?
Your recovery is insane mate. Mad props to you.
Thanks dude, almost there 👊
Man, I am literally on my 6th week , and I am trying to walk more . Such an inspiration, definitely I am still doing my due diligence, but it’s great to see your progress
Nice to see how the recovery has went, love watching the vids
Appreciate it mate, happy with how things have gone tbh
Absolutely huge from you Matt, knew from the start you would come back stronger. Everything happens for a reason and it’s good to see you’re making this incredible progress well done 🦾
WOO! Thanks dude, appreciate the support 🙌
Great to see recovery going well, Matt! It's awesome that you've shown us your injury through recovery process, definitely makes you realise how lifting isn't always perfect, but the comeback is stronger than the setback! Bloody inspiration :)
Thanks Ashlea, appreciate the support mate!
Matt, you may or may not know how incredible the achilles related vlogs have been for me. I completely ruptured mine and had surgery 9 days ago. I’m waiting to be put in the boot so I can get back to the gym and your featured recovery process gives me all and exactly the right motivation to come back with a vengeance during my eventual rehab. Appreciate you mate.
Ah really sorry to hear that mate but glad I can help a little. Good luck with it dude 🙌
I’m 5 weeks post op and watching these old videos….hopefully get back to running later this year.
I had the same injury also playing 6 a side. Your recovery is so impressive! I’m 14 months on and played football again last night for the first time. Squat is now actually better than before the injury, calf strength still not 100% but getting better. Well done Matt 💪
I like how you showed and explained how different exercises hit the muscle differently.
👍
I ruptured my achillis 5 weeks ago. This deff inspired me. I'm pretty bummed out but watching this makes me feel very hopeful 🙏💪💪💪 thank you for sharing
Love this, I have same injury and had surgery 1 weeks ago ,, mate this is so amazing thank you so much…
I ruptured my Aquiles a month ago. This gives me hope. I'm glad your recuperation is going well!
Very impressive after 4 months. Was never in doubt from day one when you said you’ll be back quicker than anyone before with same injury. Love the channel. Keep the videos coming.
Ah thanks Paul, appreciate the kind words mate 🙌
Glad to have you here, thank you for all the good you do, MATTIE BOOOOOOOYYYY! 🤗
Haha! Thanks mate, appreciate the support
I’m going through this right now brother can’t wait to see the specialist on the eighth to see if I need surgery. Thank you for your video feels like my life is over.
Dedicated man. That's why you look amazing! Wish I had your commitment. Just in pain everyday :(
NIce to see your journey. I did my achilles a few weeks after you and I'm seeing the same physio. I'm not pushing quite as hard but good to see how the approach got you good results.
Hi Travis, hope your rehab is going well! I'm having some achilles issues, how could I get in contact with the physio yourself and Matt have been seeing as I'm London based also.
Absolute inspiration Matt. I started using the Morsia app 5 days ago and I’m loving getting back to the gym after surgery as well, keep inspiring!
Top work mate 👊
Bro I am in acillas tendon recovery after surgery.I have just completed my 3 weak of rehab. Can you please suggest me about effective exercise to enhance my recovery.
Thanks for the video Matt. I ruptured my Achilles tendon playing basketball about a year and a half ago. It’s nice to see the different calf exercises as it’s been difficult to build mass down there. Thanks the for video.
So pleased to see your high risk rehab has payed off fella!!!
Mate you are a warrior! I ruptured my left achillies in 2018 and still do not have the same performance from my left calf to this day.
Granted I wasn't given the option of surgery (something that I'll regret not pushing for for the rest of my life) and I also manage to rupture it again 3 months into recovery by lifting a washing machine.
I'm very exited for your recovery but I urge you to continue stressing the importance of sticking to the recovery routine and not try to jump the gun like I did as chances of rerupture are high.
Great content as always!
Loving all the attention to this particular muscle group.
I’m at 6 weeks non op and now have set the goal to beat your 4 months back to full heel lift .. thank you for the motivation and the info 🫡🙏
You actually come across as a decent fella matt ! Good luck with your channel.
Gotta love the montage music to a calf workout
awesome vid mate you inspire my content a lot
Your an inspirational to us all 🙌 well done this is amazing Matt you've come so far amazing work keep going and thanks for video's mate !! ✌👍
Ah thanks mate 😊
@@MattDoesFitness 👍😉
Do a colab with Big Loz Official, he is a retired strong man that ruptured his Achilles in a competition and rehabbed it enough to compete again. A rehab colab would be cool.
Smashing it Matt 👊
Man nice thats motivation for me!! I snapped my achilles tendon about 2months ago aswell. I'm going after that recovery record!
I saw you're videos people attempt to lift the 100kg dumbell, next use the Inch dumbell.
@@Lawansone Im from overseas, im good man no need. The inch dumbbell weighs 170+Ibs and has a 2.5 thick handle I hope you make a video on people trying to lift tye inch dumbbell.
This popped up, oh I don’t miss Achilles rupture rehab.
Great watch for anyone going thru the shite tho.
I'm now exactly 4 weeks after my post op for my achilles, and is now on the band phase for light resistance. In 2 weeks from now I can get rid of the boot... can't wait for that day
WOO! Almost past the worst mate 🙏
Amazing video Matt!
Cheers dude
You had me at maintaining your sanity 😂
Mad love bro 💙
Nice job💪🏽🙏🏽💯
I've broke my tibialis November 11, 2021. Doc told me your done for atleast 6 to 12 months. Doing the sports i do mma, soccer, fitness.
But I told Doc, you don't know me son!
3 months after I was playing 30 min in a soccer game again.
To give you a little but of an idea. How my rehabilitation went. 5 weeks after the cask came off.
I was reading a bike in the gym again. Leg press etc...
And about 1 months ago.
I've finally kick through a wooden baseball bat again with me left. After the tibialis fracture.
God bless🙏🏽✝️❤
That’s mad, awesome effort mate 👊
@@MattDoesFitness thanks mate!
We both did pretty darn well💪🏽
I believe this was your first big injury as well right.
Because for me mentally it was more of an challenge then is was physical.
Nothing to bad, but it being the first big injury.
Simply put your a beast mate. your dedication a drive is an inspiration. its helping me drive myself on my quad recovery too. Well done. dont push too much tho, stay safe.
Appreciate it bud 🙌
Matt not letting his camera man eat hahaha, not this again 🤣
Do you find that your torn side is still never the same strength as your untorn?
7 years on from mine and i can still notice a difference.
I am so happy recovery went well for you Matt and your are back stronger than ever : )
WOOOO! Thanks mate 🙌
@@MattDoesFitness you're welcome Matt : )
Matt
Just wanted to say I used my brand new Morsia belt for my first strongman comp this past weekend, I won!!!
And pulled a pb deadlift 💪🏻
Great value would definitely recommend the belt !
Always always maintain a warrior attitude brother! Be well!…
Hey man, I’m glad to see that your happy
😊
Respect 2 Matt for Rupturing his Achilles just so he could bring out this extra content👏🏻
😂 you're welcome
Good Job 👌
Stay safe
Stay healthy
God blessed 🙏
This is so inspiring! What were the sets and rep ranges for the calf workout? I also ruptured my achilles tendon.
Outstanding work and determination. #respect
Thanks dude, appreciate the kind words
@@MattDoesFitness I‘m at 9 months post op and back to everything, smashing it up. It’s how you approach things, strong mindset overcomes the obstacles.
Thanks for the great content Matt 👍
You're welcome mate
Great update Matt! I’m 3.5 weeks post surgery but my consultant said I shouldn’t do any form of stretches/physio until Week 8. Would you be able to share the plan for the exercises you did? Wanting to try and get to a stage when I can ditch the crutches and at least walk in the boot.
Definitely going to book a session with Jarrod to examine my Achilles too!
Defo don't do any stretches mate - I'm 4 months and still haven't started properly stretching yet. In terms of exercises, it depends on your individual situation but you can definitely do loads of ankle, foot & toes movements (without resistance & with your leg/foot elevated)
Thank you for the advice mate. Will keep on those for the time being. Is there a post op recovery plan on the Morsia app? If not… 👀
After 4 months of intensive training he’s ready for the final calf boss.....Jack Grealish
I think grealish would have something to say
Hahaha!
Matt!!!! You are a beast! Congratulations on your progress it is simply amazing. People need to watch this, it is an inspiration. The lesson from this is if you stay determined, focused and disciplined you can achieve anything. Great job, mate!
Thanks maaaaate
Killin it man 💪🏻💪🏻👍😎
Thanks bud, appreciate it
I - at worst - have a partial rupture, and yet I cannot for the life of me imagine ever being able to go up on the ball of my foot.
There's a lot of courage or confidence in committing to that level of intensity after such an injury.
Awesome progress, bro! 🦵 and props to you for putting in all that work. Calves are my least favorite to train cause there’s only so much you can do in a home gym with dumbbells. 1 year of training them hard only added 0.5 inches for me. 😂 Glad that muscle memory brought yours back fast!
Thanks mate, hopefully more to come 🙏
Matt Does Food did a great calf workout.
Hi Matt a suggestion for calf training the seated calf raises can be done with a barbell across your knees, the standing calf raise can be done with a barbell across your back both exercises would benefit from the use of a calf block, a squat pad for the bar hope you find the suggestion helpful on your rehab journey stay safe and healthy
Thanks for the suggestion mate. The issue is stability/balance with the standing barbell calf raises & the seated ones are single leg so a barbell would also be less than ideal bud
@@MattDoesFitness ok I have another suggestion for you to consider the seated calf raise can be done with a dumbbell resting on your knee, the standing calf raise can be done with a dumbbell in one hand held on the same side as you're working leg in these versions you can use one leg at a time these will assist your stability, balance and strengthening of the lower leg in general stay safe and healthy
Your an Inspiration. Found this channel recently and have just been binge watching you. I have become motivated to do some workouts and sort my diet out.
I have a condition called Charcot Marie Tooth Type 2, so I can understand what it feels when you calf muscles deteriorate and there's not much you can do about it.
Ah sorry to hear that mate & appreciate you watching 😊
great journey man .........
Getting back better is great, but healing is healing lol. Can't rush that...
This insanely fast recovery it partly due to him being athletic and partly due to........ sandwiches.
How do you stay very lean all year round?
Congratulations man. It’s the whole risk/reward mind game.
Thanks mate 👍
Well done Mat excellent video 💯 Gyjo
Thanks bud 👍
It’s interesting to see that the calculated risks you’ve taken have paid off! As much as we’re conditioned to listen to the doctor, this goes to show that sometimes you should trust your own intuitions. Ultimately, you know your body best. Knew you’d bounce back quickly, and I’m glad to see how well you’re doing so soon.
Thanks Dena!
Matt can wear his 6 inch heals again at the weekend 😆
😂😂😂
My 4 year old son says "he looks like hulk cause of his strong arms but hulk doesn't do tiptoes like he does" (when you were testing your heel lift height) 🤣🤣🤣 keep up the good work!
Hahaha! What a guy
Jack Grealish has been real quiet after this
Haha! Understandable
been doing this myself dont think they got bigger but they defiantly look more veiny and better in a way
Love to see it!
Let's goooooooo
Respect 👍❤
Hi Matt, would it be possible to have the contact details for your Achilles specialist?
Really interesting to see how the body can recover and improve so quickly under near perfect conditions after such a major surgery. I suppose one of the big benefits you’ve had with the recovery is being able to commit to it 24/7 without a ‘desk job’ or the average persons obstacles to recovery as such in the way. Keep up the work nonetheless the progress is nuts. Can’t wait to see a 6 plate squat👀
Thanks mate & 6 plate squat incoming 👊
Now there is the guy who does not skip legday! The rehab does sound very boring, it needs a lot of determination and it clearly paid of.
Mat quick question. Did you mean training calves was a good route to ensure such injury won’t happen again?
No matter how hard you train your calfs they won't be bigger than jack grealishes 😂
14:43 WHO PUT THAT DOOR THERE? (Just acting, I'm not that stupid)
🤔
Did you ever get knee pain as well,I've done this two at 6 months now but still get knee pain.
Couldn’t you just stick a dumbbell on your knee (With some padding) instead of using the leg extension machine for the seated heel raise?
Feels like Matt hasn't undergone any behavioural changes since being a teen; pros and cons lool
Hahahaha!
@@MattDoesFitness Good luck on the rest of recov fr tho- I'm identical in pushing it and wanting to return to training asap (as an athlete)- shocked my physio similarly- Can see many parallels to your recov story and recovery from past injuries iv had
Pov all the people with small calves are fully focused
Haha! Taking notes
P.S...... knee sleeves have arrived and i can not weight to get them broken in, they are comfy and feel great. :)
I find my calves like to be regularly stimulated
what's the difference in size between the two calves?
Amazing
Do you reckon you could compete in the commonwealth games if so which sport? Also what’s the best tips for training legs as they seem merely impossible lol
Haha! No mate. Triple jump would've been my best shot but wasn't particularly close tbh
So what you're saying, to get motivation to train my calves, I pretty much need to bust my achilles 😅
Im glad that johny sins is still takin care of u😄, nice vid tho mate keep it up !
What’s the phone case brand you use? Help
“You’re very excitable aren’t you?”
-Physio guy
He clearly does not watch your videos lol
Great Job mate!!
You know i love you man but... some credit has to go to the awesome surgeon! keep it up man!
Matt - making calves sexy - the one, the only who could do so.
First let’s go, I’m training calves every day too lol, great to see 🔥
WOO! Good luck with it mate
Thoughts on the arsenal result?
Buzzing mate, top 3 incoming
welp after those results Ive decided to get calf implants
😂😂😂😂😂
