Hi, I am a fresher joining this year. Is there any difference in the social life being a Day Scholar, compared to a hosteller?. Like do you feel disconnected from your hostel friends??

Actually thats a very nice question!
Yes there is a considerable difference in the lifestyle of a day scholar and hostler!
Being a day scholar you do end up missing out on many events of various clubs cuz they often happen in the evenings or weekends when the day scholars will be in their houses!
Me being a day scholar I have experienced the above issue a lot!
Also another thing is, if you are a day scholar… while studying during exams it’s just you and your laptop and nothing else!
If you end up getting a doubt or need some motivation then you are all alone whereas being a hosteller you have the entire building and your friends will also be just a call away!
But I have heard from few of my hosteller friends that the above point isn’t much affective but majorly being a hosteller might help in studies, according to me at least cuz you will have your friends around and that motivation on seeing others studying
Hostellers often complain about the fact that they don’t get “freedom” , to go out for outings as for boys it’s only on weekends and for girls it’s on weekdays but the girls have to take a hit on their attendance!
And also it’s really a complex and a long procedure to get the permission for a outing involving plenty of people like parents, proctor, warden, local guardian (for girls only)…
To conclude,
A hosteller and a day scholars have their fair share of merits and demerits!
