I graduated from photography and seen many youtube videos and i’ve never encountered someone explaining the real difference between these lenses with clarity besides “one is wider” and the other “zooms closer”. 💯👏 Amazing video.
Thank you for explaining this better than anyone else! I love your comment, the landscape tells you what lens to use. Really helped me realize I need a mid-range lens and eventually to save for a telephoto lens. Thank you!
One of the best videos I have seen, crisp and with real experience!
Nice, explanation.
I've been photographing for 30 years and your video is short and very clear and informative. I actually wanted to see more of the guess which lens exercises! U levert hier goed werk, een goede fotografe én pedagoog.
Excellent presentation
A very simple yet powerful message. I also like how you break down the focal length ranges into digestible 'segments.' It's taken me quite a few years to finally feel comfortable knowing which lenses that I REALLY need to cover all the scenarios and which lenses are really just 'extras' for me. Of course this may be different for different people depending on what they shoot, but your logic works for me. Thank you.
That was an excellent, clear and concise video. Well done. Thank you.
Great video and all good points. The landscape or shot your chasing tells you what lens you need to use. Thanks for sharing the video, well done 👍 🙏
Thanks for watching Adrian🤗
A helpful reminder.
Glad you enjoyed it Brad!
Brilliant, informative and amazingly helpful. Thank you.
I feel that I’ve already knew all of these. Still very comprehensive and informative video, great amount of relevant information with good examples in a short form
I've gotten back into photography over the past 2 years. I'm limiting myself to 1 lens a year for my bday/Xmas. That's then the only lens I use and I force myself to make it work. It's made me such a better photographer
Very well explained and presented.
Very well done. Great summary of the options and decisions. Thank you.
Clear and helpful.
Hi Chris, a fantastic video about lens choice!
And I think that also prime lenses are often missunderstood. I often hear arguments like "A prime lens is much sharper than a zoom lens". That's true, but the only way to compensate for the missing zoom option were to crop in and then you loose all the better sharpness and you do even harder to frame up the composition :)
Your choice of 3 zoom lenses is what most landscape photographers do and I have to say, that's good!
Nice greetings,
Christian
Couldn't agree more!! Thanks for watching as always 🤗🤗🤗
Ugh...this video made me want to buy a 24-70...Great video.
You should! It's definitely my favorite and most often used lens 🤑😅
Thank you very much!
Very useful video ❤
Straight to the point. Nice upload. Thank you for sharing.
Details, details. 🧐 👍🥂
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for this video....I'm still struggling with lens choice. My preference is one camera, one lens (full frame w/24mm f1.4 GM) and zoom with your feet wherever possible (adjust or crop in light room).....having said that, I recognize there will be situations where a second lens will be necessary. I'm interested in anyone's thoughts on this approach. Thank you.
Super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
This is brilliant, thank you! I've never thought about these differences quite in this way, but it's truly a revelation and explains some of the 'problems' I've been having choosing appropriate lenses for scenes. Cheers!
One of the best landscape photography videos I’ve ever seen. What a great overview. And her opening little story is so true and made me laugh out loud! Thank you for the joy this brought to my day. :)
Two years ago, will be relevant for years to come. Great job!!
Thank you so much!
Once again another top quality video .. the explanations are spot on and the image examples stunning !! Bravo Chris 💪💪
Thanks Darren! Top of the morning :D Can you tell I'm watching too much Jacksepticeye? :p
Well you dragged me in with the title because I have been looking at the 24 to 105 canon. Mainly because its a giid all rounder and I have a 14mm wide angle prime and the canon 100 to 400. But you've not really answered the question in the title. You've made a case for all of them 😕. However it'll come down to distortion at the extremes and sharpness of the lens. I'll be squeezing whatever it is onto an apsc so the 24 to 70 needs some research. Cause the 24 to 105 is very sharp.
Edit: never mind it will be the 24 to 105. The 24 to 70 doesn't have image stabilisation and is discontinued. Phew. Saved myself utube time.
How have you been liking the 24-105 lens so far? I've been thinking about it for a long time.
These are good things to consider when choosing a lens to use. It's always a good idea to also check the photos you have taken on your camera before leaving. That is something I need to do more of. Great video!
Absolutely!! Always check what you have before walking away😅Thank you as always for watching, much appreciated
Idle comment just to skew the algorithm.
A refreshing learning experience! Very helpful to the beginner and seasoned photographer alike! Many thanks - with love from Atlanta.
Fantastic video! BTW, that hole in the rock you shot at 5:58 was completely wiped out by the California storms we experienced at the beginning of the year. Was one of my favorite places to photograph during Milky Way season.
Amazing tips!!!!! I haven't heard ANY tips like this in any other videos I've seen. Absolutely incredible info!
Super video! 📷 Wish you could improve the sound conditions, though 😁
Recommend carpets or anything that dampen reflections off hard and flat surfaces.
Great video Chris! Your English has improved greatly since being here, well done on explaining the differences.
Thank you so much! After watching your video, I decided not to buy another lens and make better use of the ones I already have.
Mrs. Perea you are very professional explaining the lenses in this video. I enjoyed it and learned and got reminded how to get the best shot with which lens. Brava.
Great explanation of lens choices. To the point and not confusing. Thanks !!!
Probably the best way to see through the eye of a lens. Amazing video
What is the exact lens used at 3:31 pls and thanks. Loved the video 😀
Thank you for such a nice education video!
Thanks Chris, now I have some lenses to get rid of 🤔very informative video 👍and Happy Valentines Day ♥
Time to purge!! Spring clean all your lenses :D And Happy Valentines day to you too 💐
This is a great great video! Very useful, a lots of information, easy to understanding, no rubbish talking, straight to the point. One of the best photography video. Thank you very much.
Thank you for the kind words 🙏🏼
Hello again miss C. Thank you again for the information you gave us. Amnon
Thank you for watching Amnon!
That was a excellent explanation.
Very we’ll done. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Do you recommend wide lens as fast as F2.8 or F4 is good enough for landscape ?
All of my lenses for landscape are f/4. They're lighter, cheaper and I don't shoot at f/2.8 for landscapes so they work great!
@@PereaPhotography Thanks a lot
Now I'm confused which lens i should buy for my sony a6000y 😵
It doesn't really matter what system you use but more what you like to photograph. If you like to concentrate on landscapes, a wide angle lens is a good choice. When you want to photograph all kinds of things a mid-range lens is great. And if it is wildlife a long lens can make sense 🤗
You are a great teacher. Well done and easy to understand.
to the point and very clear 👏👏👏
Thank you. Learned some
Wonderful lesson
12/10
Great video, thanks 😊
A refreshing video!
Great video. I watch a lot of these - but this was really well articulated with great examples!
Glad you enjoyed it Brian!
Great video, Chris.
The comparisons were very helpful!
Thank you Juanita! Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching as always. Happy Valentines ♥️
