plus apparently the whole purpose of these awards to begin with was to give the acknowledgement to people who never usually do in settings like this or even other than the 3 k people that show up to their chat. especially when its giving props to people like caseoh. jynxzi in the space they are in by their peers or streamers who have less than 1000 avg viewers and even a cat for less than 100 viewers. PLUS someone like maximillion dood getting a "legacy award" for his body of work. i mean thats awesome imo@@WestJett
but this event gives the chance to give appreciation to people in the space that deserve recognition for what they do in that space. something like the award for less than 1k viewers or less than 100 viewers or the legacy award where someone like maximillian dood recognition for his entire career. people like caseoh and jynxzi and kai get their due from people outside their community for being INSANELY good at what they do@@WestJett
plus i saw a few clips of qt saying the main reason she puts it on aside from the fact that she wants to put on big events and for the streaming space to have an award show SPECIFICALLY DEDICATED to streamers unlike say the streamys or game awards where ONLY the most mainstream streamers are even mentioned but all these people sit at home most of their lives not interacting with the people they "work" with and hell for some not many people at all cuz of their job. so i think its cool that one of her main goals in this is to get everyone together and create that space of creating face to face relationships between the streamers and not just discord calls with the same people over and over again.
i mean personally if i was a streamer that wasnt a kai or something like that and got nominated for a fucking award? id be fucking hype. i mean im sure almost ALL of those people NEVER thought theyd ever be walking on stage to accept an award for what they do and being praised by their peers more than "hey thanks for the raid" idk. i get its "cringe" but i think its pretty cool she puts ALL of this together by herself and does it usually at a loss or barely making profit but doing it because of the things ive said

I understand it has its moments but I do really commend QT for doing this. She has explicitly mentioned it’s more so to get the community together in one room and not so much about the awards. Regardless of the cringe- it is an action that was coming from a kind place. Streamers are just weird and socially deprived so of course there will be cringe when you put them all in a room together.

though I think it's cringe, remember that none of these people are actually hosts/presenters/interviewers. They are just regular people, so it's bound to be a bit uncomfortable. On top of that the audience is only streamers, people that stay home almost 24/7 and are so over internet-ed that they are awkward in spaces like this. I still think it's amazing what they set up! And the awards are so nice for the creators who work really hard, this is an extra way to get their name out there and to add professionalism to the job of streaming. Also; this is only the THIRD TIME they've done this show!

Are we really suprised its cringe. I dont understand why people are critizing it so much. Like most streamers and creators are just cringe in general. But lots of people watch them. A point ive seen alot of people comment as well is that the streamers who get nominated for these awards are literally voted from viewers. These awards of course are pointless but it is nice to see some of the wholesome moments surrounded by the cringe. Its nice seeing smaller streamers get recognized too since lots of the bigger twitch streamers have also openly talked about these problems on the platform. I also dont think you made a really fair point saying streamers are below youtubers. Because streamers are making content live so they are at a disadvantage. Theres shitty people all over the internet not just people who stream, like take example of family vloggers and "pranksters" on youtube.
Oh those are much worse than streamers. I’m sorta just hating for the lulz it’s not like I deeply dislike these people I just think they take themselves too seriously

The only reason that twitch streamers make videos saying I'm not your friend is because they have the awareness that UA-camrs don't. All online content is parasocial when you are watching somebody's life whether it is a vlog, or cooking, video talk show, whatever... Everything else I want to say has already been said by other people; but I genuinely have never seen a twitch streamer take themselves or others seriously.
