I did a pick for who would win in each series Saturday morning, the same day of the truck and Xfinity race at talladega. I picked Stewart Friesen for trucks, Elliott for cup, and, Brandon Brown for Xfinity. I went nuts after the race when he won.
I blame the reporter. Without her action of paying any attention to the crows, this chain of events would have never happened. Also the sponsors pulling out, fцск them.
Brandon absolutely has to take some blame. There's nothing political about saying, "I don't like people using my name as an immature way to insult someone else. That's disrespectful to me." But instead he leaned into the phrase with the attempted LGBcoin sponsorship. 🤷♂
It’s that final sentence you said that everyone seems to forget. BB shot himself in the foot by doing that, but yeah let’s blame the reporter. Shouldn’t have took a genius to realize half the citizens of the US would end up getting pissed regardless of what happened
The phrase was already ruining his career. The sponsors had already left. In order to be able to race, he needed a sponsor, and LGB Coin was pretty much the only one willing. So, while yes, he could have said no to the sponsorship, it likely would've been the end of his career. Which is exactly what happened in actuality, as he didn't end up getting this sponsor. Had nascar approved the sponsorship, the story would be completely different, and we could be saying that the LGB chant helped his career by giving him a full season sponsor. But even then, the sponsor was likely a scam that would leave after a few races. So it was a blunder either way.

I was at Disney World recently and at the Hall of Presidents someone shouted “Let’s go Brandon” when Biden came out. I saw who it was and after the show and I thanked them for contributing towards the death of Brandon Brown’s career.
I can't begin to feel sorry for Brandon Brown. He just happened to get lucky and he won a race. Good for him for being in the right place at the right time. There are lessons to be learned here. Having a meme coin as a full time sponsor was never going to work! The crypto market took a dive in early 2022. NASCAR rejecting his sponsor, saved him from having a sponsor that would have never paid him. He was lucky that NASCAR gave him a reason to move on to find a different sponsor. The real lesson is, don't embrace bad stuff. He became a meme that was associated with politics, a dirty word and denigrating the President of the USA. That is not marketable. Sure, he was in a bad spot because of that but he didn't run away from it. He embraced it. He put his name back in the news by accepting that sponsor and made it worse by feuding with NASCAR over it. He ruined his marketability and any chances of future sponsorship deals. Honestly, this guy deserved his downfall.

@@XanderH4W6which is he said she said lmao, you can either believe the sponsors who pull out all the time at the slightest bit of controversy and will lie to cover their asses or believe the lifelong racer who already had to take various sponsors constantly then all of a sudden he has none.
Its truly a shame how fans literally ruined a young driver's career
It also kinda funny in a way. Dark humor stuff
...and honestly, there are A LOT of toxic "fans" out there that would ruin other drivers if they had the chance. It's sad, but as all things, it's not exclusive to Nascar. All sports suffer from this.
Marks not fans.

My favorite ad that actually got him sponsors.
And all he did was just win one race. Dare I say it, that win was a cursed one.
The Talladega Curse
EmpLemon batting a thousand
Wait, did the "Let's Go Brandon" chant exist before his win, or did it become a thing after people heard the interview?
It wasn't a thing until that frontstretch interview.
Man, that just makes it more sad... Thanks for letting me know, though
after the interview
It really was some bs what happened to Brandon Brown. He had nothing to do with the whole situation besides just winning the race. Winning that race should've propelled his career and team with more sponsorships, but now he can't even race for his own family team (much less any team it seems like, I haven't seen him in awhile). I hope he gets back to racing again.
I did a pick for who would win in each series Saturday morning, the same day of the truck and Xfinity race at talladega. I picked Stewart Friesen for trucks, Elliott for cup, and, Brandon Brown for Xfinity. I went nuts after the race when he won.
Honestly whoever tried to play the chants off just made the situation so much worse
I blame the reporter. Without her action of paying any attention to the crows, this chain of events would have never happened.
Also the sponsors pulling out, fцск them.
aint no way i just watch 2 ellyproductions videos back to back and then immediately he posts a new one...
Brandon absolutely has to take some blame. There's nothing political about saying, "I don't like people using my name as an immature way to insult someone else. That's disrespectful to me."
But instead he leaned into the phrase with the attempted LGBcoin sponsorship.
There's literally nothing wrong with insulting politicians, everyone does it

...this is what I think of when I hear "Let's go Brandon." Not the memes, not the politics, not Joe Biden himself...this.
I think of how a completely innocent racing driver got screwed out of sponsorships, and ultimately, his career. All because this incident was the epicenter of the "Let's go Brandon" craze.
If that isn't damning evidence of the state of politics on a global scale these days, I don't know what is.
And the worse part is how I would go see comments on posts of him say that he deserves all this. Why, because of his name? Makes no sense

Brandon brown acted perfectly throughout this and I hate it for him.
People really bending over backwards and twisting themselves into knots with the amount of mental gymnastics to say this wasn't the fault of those fans that were chanting it in the first place, and then the subsequent political dinguses that thought they were being coy by using it and spreading it as a political meme. All the reporter did in that brief moment was just try to keep the situation apolitical and pretend the word, "Fuck," wasn't being said on live television; that's it.
For real lol. She tried to keep the situation neutral and non-political but everyone blames her. Literally she did the right thing. Seems like nobody blamed the inbred rednecks in the stands and the right wing cult for exaggerating it.
They have cognitive dissonance
Everything is political, welcome to reality
This is coming from the same people who said if you disagree with whatever Obama says you are racist. That was the political discussion for 8 years. You all reap what you sow. Never forget it.
The reporter gaslighted the audience. She didn't need to say or address it at all. This is 100% the fault of the reporter, and the Let's Go Brandon movement literally is because everyone is sick and tired of legacy media on BOTH SIDES of the political aisle literally lying directly to everyone when the truth is right behind them. It's a protest about the media, the over reach of government in censorship, not the president. Stop trying to create and control the narrative. This country was founded on the right to protest.
I always say that Brandon Brown's win was completely overshadowed by the LGB/FJB confusion
It was the reporter that tried to do damage control by saying "Let's Go Brandon"
But then again, you know what they say: the rest became history.
It wasn't his fault that it happened, and he never asked for it to happen
To those that are still using his name for the slogan:
You should be ashamed of yourself
My name is Brandon, and ANY time I hear Mets go Brandon come up, it just pisses me off to no end. The fact that not only does it not congratulate me for doing something, but is also tied to politics just hits so wrong on so many levels. its a dumb chant if you ask me. Really sucks that he can't get work now and I do feel bad for the reporter that she tried her best to ignore what the fans were chanting but it unfortunately backfired and now Brandon's only win will go down in infamy because of that

If Brandon is not racing in xfinity anymore, I wish he'd give Smooge Racing a call. They may have a place in their lineup for him. Now granted, its a sportcar programme, and he'll be driving Toyota Supra gt4s instead of Chevy Camaros. But if he still wants to race, then something is better than nothing. Plus the team is co-founded by Kevin Conway, and their driver lineup also supports dirt oval racing, so Brandon should feel more comfortable with that sorta crowd.
We share the same hometown and that made me a fan of his. Was so excited to see him get that first win and hoped it would have started his climb into something bigger. Really is a shame that such a great moment was tarnished by a stupid slogan.

As bad as I do feel for Brandon, he kind of DID mess up after the fact. He had some legit sponsors lined up but played the whole "Oh no one wants to sponsor us." leading his ACTUAL sponsors to be like okay, we out then. I really wanted him to succeed but then he leaned fully into this sponsor which, who in their right mind would believe that Nascar would EVER sign off on something like that? Cause if you believe that, I got some high quality, breathable moon air to sell to you.
He should have communicated with them to play it up like they came to his rescue!
They signed off on iK9 and that wierd energy drink scam.
He's not at fault for the initial publicity, but he absolutely could have rejected the LGB coin sponsor.
Great Video, Fun fact. My dad actually sold brown his first truck, we ran it in '14 accouple times. Then sold it to brandon.

I think the commenters are missing the most important point for the most part. It's proof how the reporters deliberately skew the news. That reporter didn't have to say anything at all about the chant. Brandon Brown isn't the only casualty from such reporting, either.
I've seen a train locomotive labeled "Spirit of Brandon" which might relate to Let's go Brandon.
It's called chaos. And Brandon Brown got swept up and chewed up. I hope he can return. Maybe just start over from Arca.
I just want to remind everyone that none of this ever would have happened if the TV partners continued the victory lane interviews.

Dude was screwed because Kelli Stavast either can't hear or tried to be slick. None of it was his fault.

Because they're in a cult.
