With all due to respect, but in this video he looks like a beggar, even though it’s meant to present some sort of casual vibe, it looks untidy. I have nothing against anyone from G’sG, to make it clear.
My father always wore cordovan oxfords from Barrie Ltd., now sadly out of business. They lasted forever. Since he bought a new pair every year, he had quite a collection of them. The newest pair he wore for dress, older ones for less formal occasions, and the oldest pair (waterproofed) for snow shoveling.
I agree. Preston doesn't only have a bit of a baby face (which is a good thing, at least it will be in a decade or three) but he also looks a bit too "slick" clean-shaven.
I just bought some McAllisters in Cordovan on Poshmark and they look and feel in better condition than the pictures shown. Totally worth buying Cordovan used online!
I'm glad this video didi not extend past 24 minutes, otherwise Preston's voice might have become horse. I was courting a pair of Alden loafers made of cordovan. They were incredibly satisfying to see and touch. I'm in-between sizes, so I didn't buy them. I hope someday to own a pair of Cordovan shoes.
Firstly I would like say the videos you have made helped so much for my spoken for suit. The in-depth videos and the history lessons are amazing keep up the great work. loving the facial hair Preston
I've got two pairs of Royal Imperials, both longwing bluchers, that I absolutely love. Both look new and both were goodwill finds within a month of each other.
This was incredibly helpful. I had been deliberating on whether to by a pair of Cordovan Loafers from Allen Edmonds. They are about $600 and I wondered why. This explains is. I will also now fully expect to have to break them in over a much longer time period. Thank you for making this video.
I am experiencing a sudden flashback. It's 1975 and I am watching TV where Ricardo Montalban is pitching the brand new Chrysler Cordoba, a personal luxury car whose interior is even available in "fine Corinthian Leather."
Excellent video, thank you. Looking good Preston! I have 2 pairs of special order Crockett & Jones Oxfords in black Cordovan, a wholecut and a cap toe. Easy to look after and because they’re made on a last that’s perfect for me they haven’t rippled either. I had them made from Cordovan predominately for our inclement British weather, they excel on the days I need my trench and brolly.
I have a pair of cordovan boots in color 8, and a wingtip in cognac, both from Carmina. I love the luster they have and the shades of color they have against the light. The only thing is that in summer weather they can be quite hot and bulky for walking. I still have to get a pair of unlined cordovan, maybe that should do the trick.
I knew those sneakers in your community post had to be cordovan. The shine of them were clear as day. I love cordovan shoes and boots and have a couple pairs of different styles to break up the monotony of my calf leather shoes and boots. I would like to someday get some exotic skins like croc or alligator or hippo.
Great video Preston! I just bought cordovan loafers from Crockett and Jones in dark brown. The colour is deep and rich with many brown tones. Also the ripples instead of the creases are an attractive less formal look. I would recommend loafers or plain toe shoes to best show off the ripples. It seems a shame to use cordovan on trainers but it’s nice to hear about Crown - I’ll check them out. Thanks
I have two pairs of cordovan footwear. A pair of brogue boots by Allen Edmonds (like the ones Raphael wears) and a pair of monk strap shoes by Meermin. Both in Cordovan color. They’re great items and love wearing them in the winter months since they’re hard wearing. I’m going to look at picking up a pair of Indy Boots by Alden this winter.
You have become my favourite member of a gentleman's gazette team :) Love your sense of humor :) PS: Great video but that's sort of given since it's Gentleman's Gazette :)
Great video! 👏👍 Are you getting sole replacements for your tennis shoes? Of course, the sole‘s rubber is not going to last as long as the cordovan leather.
Cordwainer was an old fashioned term for leather worker, it derives from Cordovan leather, just as another old fashioned term currier, derives from French cuir.
Carmina (which, in my opinion, is currently the reigning King of Cordovan) is exceptional when it comes to tanning Cordovan in various shades of color (among which are green - the color of the pair of Cordovan Wholecuts I purchased from them - and blue).
Carmina doesn’t have anything to do with the production or coloring of the Shell Cordovan material itself. They source it through Horween Leather Co. like most other shoe companies. Alden tends to get first pick but Carmina may be up there too.
I have the Allen Edmonds Dalton boots and driving with them can be dangerous because they are very stiff. That said they are amazing and have a shine and color that is unmatched.
Of course Indian maidens chewed buckskin to make it soft for clothes - presumably incl. moccasins. Did this produce a superior leather, & is is matchable today?
It's incredible how much a bit of facial hair can change a guy, and in this case it does wonders for your look . Maybe it was big time to loosen up a bit and start playing on a cooler note? IDK, not quite sure why it works but it definitely does for you.
Those Crown Northampton sneakers made from Cordovan leather look outstanding but also very uncomfortable, no matter how long the break in. Many videos are made about Crown Northampton sneakers. All focus on construction and craftsmanship but none focus on long term wear and comfortability. Please make a video about the wearability of your Crown Northampton sneakers. Thank you.
Look on ebay for your size in cordovan boots. I buy allen edmonds exclusively used but found a gently used pair of johnston and murphy optima cordovan oxfords for 40 bucks
Dude! No more clean shaving for you! Even a little bit of facial hair makes you look much more mature and I believe really suits your face. Keep it up! And although I'm probably biased because I think every dude should have a beard if they can grow one, I honestly think you would look even cooler with a short/medium length beard. Us skinny white dudes with long faces always look better with a beard.
Preston has an excellent outfit in this video, arguably one of the best casual ones I've ever seen on this channel
I do wish they’d start to cover more Smart Casual specifically. Far more applicable for many aspiring gents out there.

The facial hair looks incredible on you. Makes you look very adult. Highly recommend keeping it

Are you suggesting he looked like a child before ? Keep your comments about people’s personal appearance to yourself.
🤣😂👌
no it doesnt, please shave or just have stubble. this is awful
I'd say alternate between styles
I purchased a pair of Allen Edmonds MacNeils in Shell Cordovan in Black from Ebay, VERY GENTLY USED and I LOVE THEM!!!

My mom would swoon when she saw those commercials! “He’s so good looking!”
I can't believe I went thru the entire video - I just love learning about cordovan leather, I have 3 Allen Edmonds cordovan leather and I love them.
Really liking this change in appearance, Preston. Great hair, glasses, beard combo!
The beard is suitably professorial, and harmonizes nicely with the shoes. :)
Excellent video, thank you.

It's the fine corinthian leather, like in a Chrysler Cordoba.
This stubble beard really suits you Preston. I wouldnt mind you keeping it.
Agreed! Looks great on him. Now if he got a different hairstyle instead of that boyish one, even better. But hey we all start somewhere
I thought the same thing! Commented that in the homewear video. Would look really great when allowed to grow fuller and kept at under a cm!

As the shoes are still relatively new, I don't think a resole is on the cards just yet - but a good idea for a future video!
I DIG the stubble Preston 👌🏽
Love the humor in the videos. 😆
Great video! Very informative and enjoyable! Thanks!
Whenever I wear Cordovan or Cashmere I get compliments I never fail to mention where Cordovan and Cashmere come from 😅 great party conversation
Can you guys please review crown northHampton , i have ordered a few pairs with them recently . Can’t wait for them to get here
That would be great!
How’d you like them? I’ve been considering them.
Love the video the very informative and very funny as well with all of the 🐎 jokes.
Cordwainer was an old fashioned term for leather worker, it derives from Cordovan leather, just as another old fashioned term currier, derives from French cuir.
Will there be a Crown Northampton review coming?
Love the beard, Preston. Looks fantastic!
The stubble looks great!

I think you are confused because Carmina does not tan anything, they receive the shell fully processed and ready for turning into shoes.
@@somerandomperson8282 Ah ok. Thank you for clarifying.
This channel is high end content
Thorough and good quality info 🙂
can we please have a leather treatment video if possible, my current shoes have a glaring crease that makes me afraid to invest in new shoes
All I could think about during this was that Preston was weary sneakers! 🤯
I have the Allen Edmonds Dalton boots and driving with them can be dangerous because they are very stiff. That said they are amazing and have a shine and color that is unmatched.
quite interesting and well presented!
A great video. Lots of information. Thank you.
Preston rocking that beard
Like the stubble Preston! Looking good!
Im looking forward to Prestons beard growing into something the DiCaprio style from Django unchained.
Preston looks so cuuuuute!!
Sir, this fit is clean. Keep the facial hair too. I recently started watching this channel to get informed about shoes and this style of dressing.
Of course Indian maidens chewed buckskin to make it soft for clothes - presumably incl. moccasins. Did this produce a superior leather, & is is matchable today?
WOW, One of the few things I didn't know. Great video!

Loving the facial hair! You look great, and awesome video!
Spanish? Horse related? Shiny?
I must acquire a pair of Marlborough Boots made of this!

That’s a bummer! I was considering them and doing a little more research. I hope that doesn’t go for the other options.
Great look Preston, from head to cordovan toe.
Gotta say, Preston really dragged out the "horse's a**" joke.
Oh, and George Costanza disagrees with one of your facts. Its "Moops", not "Moors."
Rocking that beard!
Raphael can you make a suit collection video?
Some Cordovan boots would look nice on date night.
But you should be attractive enough to get a date? If yes then go ahead!
@@rao2398Well she looks like the hottie from Saved By The Bell.
She good. She good.
Hey Preston the facial hair look very good on you👍
This has to be Preston’s funniest video yet.
Excellent presentation
I have to give you kudos the facial hair aka beard is definitely an A+!!
I like the new look Preston!

Great video by 'mirror universe' Preston. 👍
Great playoff beard!!! Cheers from SpoCanada.
The facial hair is a good look, Preston. I suggest keeping it.
Brother tell we can wear overcoat in india ? Please reply
Pretty hot there, no? Seems pretty pointless to wear one.
Overcoats can be worn in any country, permitting the weather is cold enough.
Thank you guys , but I expect from gentleman's gazette
@SPNKr Thanks you brother you are legend reply for this but I except from gentleman's gazette
I find my Alden Cordovans very comfortable also due to the cork footbed which adjusts to the feet of its individual owner.
I own these sneakers….. love them 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
What brand?
@@stevenjm12 Crown Northampton
@@martincrook1984 how are they holding up now?
lol you cracked me up when you looked down at the sheet and then said the horses a$$
Cordovan, corduroy, cardigan; sounds like a fun outfit to described to those curious
That is hilarious that I said all of that before you got to your outfit
Shell doesn't go well with formal styles? //me with 5 pairs of cap toe oxfords in horween shell...
Cordovan leather tab for archery
What is up with those white laces? I thought this was a channel that promotes good taste.
Very interesting video. Definitely a horse of a different color...
mine came with a bunch of cuts and indentation marks. poor QC
Hey everyone, what brands would you recommend for a cordovan dress boot?
Look on ebay for your size in cordovan boots. I buy allen edmonds exclusively used but found a gently used pair of johnston and murphy optima cordovan oxfords for 40 bucks
We’ll based on the thumbnail… they’re made with plastic toy horses? Not a lot of those around to make shoes out of ya kno…
Buenas tardes, por favor traducirlo al espańol .Un saludo

Wonderful
Did Preston just grow his beard in a week?
It’s the best!
Preston, I’m digging the facial hair! 👍🏻
Upwards of $500? Honestly upwards of $1K in a lot of cases
I think a wallet, belt, or bag would be more suitable for this type of leather.
Preston looks strange in this video ...
... almost human. Now he passes the Turing test.
LOL
Good video....
Preston could steal anyone's girl with thick stubble like that!
Lol
Sick info... I'll pass on this one
Awesome 😎
Preston, you look good with that wisp of a beard! At the same time younger and more mature. You should consider keeping it :)
if you didn't pay for the shoes then the video is very much sponsored.
The beard is gorgeous and suits you!
Perfect
Oooh… I see Preston’s evil twin brother has made an appearance. Handing out beatings around the office probably. Facial hair looks great on you!
Rugged Presto, you are a walking embodiment of buy British :)
The stubble looks really good on Preston
I’m part moorish
If they sent you the sneakers for free; and you show them in many parts of the video isn’t that paid advertising (sponsorship)?
Too many jokes, its like a bad episode of Family Guy
Hi ho! Kermit the Frog here!
love the new facial hair!
