Could I ask you a strange request? If you have an Egg board, can you put LDP brackets on it and see if it's usable? If possible, try it with the trucks that come with the board.
@@LUN5HTIME hey, I had one and I tried, it works, but the holes are not new school, you most likely have to drill into the board. But I have seen people use it, so it's possible!
With a robust material you can probably spare a lot of mass in many parts, I am no expert in this but I think for engineers there are plenty software tools (some even AI) assisted that can stresstest it virtually and evolve into an highly specialized/tapered chassis being probably a lot lighter. As is this thing really looks chunky. Also I'd love to see some presunk sockets for quik truck baseplates in a deck like this, avoiding the increased ride height. Also some bumpers might be recommended with this one in responsibility for your enviroment ;)
Having holes on the deck doesn't add grip to the shoe. Having small extrusions/bumps from the deck that stick into the shoes do. If your board isn't textured, you need griptape to add those little extrusions/bumps to cling to your shoes.
Nice project! It reminds me of an american brand that makes board in cnc aluminum, they are called ThreeSix... And yeah, knowing the average price of cnc things, I don't wanna know too 😂
All solid aluminum skateboards suck. They feel dead, they don't flex but sag and the vibrations kill your feet. Only ones I have ever ridden that were okay ( I've been riding skateboards since 1971) were the Sim's Quicksilvers of the 1970's which were actually aluminum skins over a maple core. If aluminum was any good for skateboards they would be put into mass production. How many aluminum skateboards ( new ones) have you seen in the last 10 years ???
When you don't need grip you can even strap it to the outside of your backpack
turning it in to an LDP blew my mind I totally forgot that could be an option.
really cool build 👍🏻
@@LUN5HTIME Thanks! It's not too efficient but it works!
what do you mean by not efficient?
The board has no flex that could support you, so it's more effort than on a longer flexier board!

@@joemcguts1962 I thought about flush cuts too, made this thing even more expensive...
It's fun but certainly not worth it :D

@@nickamarit It actually helps a little when wearing shoes with some decent profile, but yeah, it's not nearly as good as griptape
Looks cool!
Have you ever seen a BeercanBoard deck?
They make double drop decks with nice flex (for an all-aluminum deck, of course).
@@reugen87 Yeah they look awesome!
I might build something like that at some point!
Instead of slapping on stickers this board can slap on magnets
@@kaiplaygame6808 nice try but magnets won't work on aluminum 😅
Nice, STL pls 😍
@@timyunusislam1259 might actually share it if somebody wants to try :D

What's the size with the zee?
