I was only going to use google calendar links until I realised the notification sound for google calendar on ipad/iPhone is useless and had to make my own planner for apple calendar 🤦♀

Are you referring to if you’re using a planner with these links or if you’re creating a planner with specific times linked?

Great video! I tried researching how to do this and couldn't find it. When you're creating your hyperlink in Indesign, which option would you choose:URL, File, Email, Page, Text Anchor, or Shared Destination. I know which ones it's not, but having trouble figuring out which one it is.
I don’t use Indesign but I believe it would be URL 😊

The planner I use already has hyperlinks to iCal and Google Calendar, but I'm a night owl and I had to change the written hours on the daily schedule page to suit me best.
But I only changed the design on Good Notes, so now although my planner says "1pm", the hyperlink opens my calendar to add an event at the original time (like 9am). Basically: it's useless...
I've been wondering if there's a way to change all the hyperlinks to match the design changes I made... I mean, its impossible to manually change all the hyperlinks, each daily schedule page has 20 time slots, each one with a calendar hyperlinks to the corresponding time.
And I doubt the creator added the hyperlinks manually too lol.
Do you know if is it possible to "batch edit" hyperlinks or even "batch create" new ones redirecting to specific days and hours?

Hi there! That’s a really good question and I would personally ask the creator of the planner if this is possible. Unfortunately I don’t know of a way to batch these other than to copy/paste the links and manually change the times. You could do this fairly quickly once you get into the groove of doing it but since these are time slots, it would still take a pretty long time.
Sorry, I know that’s not much help but honestly I would just reach out to the creator and see if there’s a workaround.
Thank you for explaining all this. So generous of you. I use keynote to create my planners. However, I have only created just a couple so far, so I'm fairly new at this.
So am I understanding this right? I create the apple shortcut with the URL you showed in the video but I need to change the date portion of the link for EACH day to create a unique link for that day in my planner. And just to clarify, I need to add these unique links to a little graphic icon for each day in my planner at the point when I'm adding hyperlinks in the designing phase, right? Thanks for you help.

OK I was doing really well until you said now you can add this to your calendar and I’m like what I need a step-by-step on what to do. I mean literally step-by-step I felt like there was a gap and I don’t know what to do. I am using goodnotes. I went to settings. I did everything you said to do in settings then I went back to shortcuts, clicked on that and all I brought up with all my stuff that I have in my Goodnotes. Also, I don’t know how to download it to Adobe. Where do I start on that? Do you have another video on how to do that?

Thanks! At the moment I do not have a video on this but it’s pretty simple. You just copy the icloud link and add it to a page where your customers can click on it. I use Adobe Acrobat and use the link tool to add it. Let me know if that answers your question 😊

I'm wanting to have the link open the planner owner's current monthly google calendar and I'm a little unclear on how to figure out what that link would be. I'm also trying to figure out how to create a shortcut to open the planner owner's reminders app. Any ideas where I might find this or do I need to do some trial and error? Thank you again!
I recommend doing trial and error as I haven’t tested this out myself to give you an accurate answer. As for the link, you would use the link that I mentioned in the video 😊

You can’t, it has to run each time.
You said you made the link in Adobe acrobat? So you added the a- plus the other letters and equal sign and the date? Cause I’m making my planner in Affinity Designer. Would I have to create links in Adobe acrobat?

Does the event you add through the Google shortcut then appear on your digital planner?
No, the shortcut is so you can add the event you add to your planner, to your Google calendar. I like to “lasso” my event, copy it, then paste it in to my calendar. The shortcut just makes the process easier 😊
What is the link you use to view google calander monthly view. For example January's monthly calendar view.
I believe you may have to do some trial and error to figure out the link for that 😊

You can add the link in Canva by using the linking feature. There’s lots of tutorials on here that show you how to do that! 😊

I haven’t tried adding it in Canva but it should work once you’ve added the link.

This was extremely helpful! I do have a few questions and haven’t found any help. If i’m not using daily pages, how would they setup a shortcut for just the “add new event” pop up for the iCal that isn’t date specific? Also, have you ever used prompts in shortcuts? I’m trying to setup a shortcut where if I tap on a set of icons I’ll get a prompt that asks me what I want to do next. Like it would give me a choice adding a new event or setting a timer. I’m really new with shortcuts. Today is actually my first day using it ever. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

@@Creativelyclaudia So, for the last week I have been beating my head against the wall trying to figure this out. With your instructions, setting up the actual shortcut was super simple. Getting the shortcut to work in my digital planner has been difficult. I build my planners in Keynote. I've tried adding the shortcut link with my shortcut name and date and I still get and error "Could not find the specific shortcut". Have you ever run into this error message before? If so, what should I do? I can't find any resources about this. Thanks.
I have not run into this message but I would suggest going through your shortcut and making sure everything is set up correctly. I would honestly create the shortcut all over again as there might just be an issue with the one you created and then make sure that the link you used to connect it to your planner is correct.

You have to make them from scratch. I would suggest copying and pasting, and just changing the date part of the link.
Is there a way to create the shortcut to pull in the time you want as well for the calendar without having to adjust it manually
Not that I am aware of, but that would make life so much easier!
after the date (01-01-2024) add the time code you want, so if you wanted January 1, 2024 at 5PM it would be 01-01-2024-17:00

I haven’t used PowerPoint before to create a planner, but you would just add the links using the link feature in PowerPoint if it has one
Thank you so much for this! Quick question if you're okay with answering...when you embed your google link does it automatically open to the web browser's google cal or can it open to google cal app? When I click the link (without google cal app downloaded) I find it opens to the right day in the google cal in the web browser but when I click the link (with the google cal app downloaded) it won't open to right date but whatever the current day is in the google app.
I actually don’t have the Google cal app but it would open on the right date in the browser. I haven’t heard of any issues as of yet so I don’t think it’s a big issue honestly. Thanks for making me aware of this issue though, I will probably try it out myself and see if the same thing happens.
I understand everything up until adding the link in Adobe acrobat… I created the image that I want to use to cover up the link however, in the drop-down menu, I don’t see which one to choose to add the external link to. I see URL, but the part that you told us to take a screenshot of is not a URL.

This is a great video but creating a shortcut hinges on the link and I cant find anywhere in the video or description anything explaining how to create a link or find out what your link is
I have your digital planner and followed every step but when I click the Apple it opens up the shortcut then takes me back to the digital planner and my Apple Calendar does not open up like yours in the video

There are many reasons why this could be happening depending on the device you are using, apps, etc. It would be a little difficult to try and figure out why without more details.

Yes, while creating the links, you could create the links to redirect anywhere. I like your idea!

Great video..just one part I didn’t quite understand. You find you text link (a-) in your planner external shortcut but I still don’t understand how I get this if the shortcut isn’t create.
You have to create the links yourself. Once your shortcut is activated, it will know what to do when you click on those links you created. Does that answer your question? 😊
How do you create the link? Where did the apple come from?

When I try to use the Apple link it says that it’s an invalid link

You add your links in whichever software it is that you use to create your planner
