Hi Jeri, I love your site! I was thinking Sweet Peaking, as a name for the beautiful duck. Hope all your seeds do well but especially your sweet peas 😉 Happy Gardening, Janice in SC
ive just started a small bed using the no dig method for a winter garden, with your encouragment and instruction. another shout of thanks coming to you for all you share with us. iam a desert city dweller ( tucson arizona) but i can still copy some of your ideas..on to part 2 now..:)
I am really loving your videos! My kind of gsrdening🌾. I used the cardboard last fall to get rid of weeds & grass in my back yard....it works great, and the worms like it too. Still no weeds, or grass!
The art and gardening go hand in hand, that's for certain! I will be interested in knowing which of these methods you apply to your own gardens in the future.
Thank you! No need to feel inadequate, that's the purpose for this new set of videos. Anyone can have a beautiful garden with just a bit of guidance. I am just an amateur gardener who's learning as I go, and sharing what I learn.
I had been interested in wattle borders for years..since Ground Force days. But YOU inspired me to actually do it..fun, interesting and just makes the garden that much more "natural" looking!
We are in East TN too.. isn’t it lovely! Thank you for sharing your ideas and beautiful gardens! I have always been inspired by Beatrix Potter and Tasha Tudor and their way of gardening - now I can add you to that list ❤️
Hi Farmstead, Yes, we have a great state! Thanks for adding me alongside 2 of my favorite Illustrator/ authors> I have been inspired by Beatrix P's watercolors and Tasha's Gardens for a long time as well.
I just stumbled upon your channel and it is so charming! I am wanting to grow an enticing garden that is also a food forest, this has great ideas thank you 🤗
Hate to be a bubble buster, but I started with the Downing method. .cardboard helps till its gone.. I have plenty of weeds in dealing with this year ☹. But still looks nice and I'll just keep pulling. Lol
To be honest with you, I did the no dig in a few gardens and ended up with shredded cardboard within a year. It was a mess! I blamed it on the chickens, but I've not used the method any more. I just pull the weeds and then compost, add the plants and compost deeply once again.
Gosh ,I am so glad I found this ! Beautiful garden and story books . I had a "Peter Rabbit" type garden 24 years ago , then over time poison ivy took over , despite a strong battle . My husband cleared the whole 40' by 60' off last spring , and built 4 raised beds in the east part. I have felt rather dejected about it since , as all the " personality" has been cleared off also, but Very grateful the ivy is gone. ..Now that I have seen this , I have a direction to head in ... I am feeling my garden joy taking root !! Thank you for sharing your art !
This is very helpful as I'm doing my first potager style garden this year. We are in a cold climate and learning to garden here may be tricky! Your booms are enchanting, very much my style! Thanks!
Mandy, I am glad this video is timely for you. If you are in a cold climate, you may be able to grow a lot of things that we cannot grow well in our humidity. Keep watching, the third video is coming soon and I will be talking about starting seeds.
I found your channel and blog when searching for potager gardening. I want to send out a note of encouragement in all you do. I am so inspired by your love of beauty, your ability to teach and inspire, and your calming and soothing mannerism. Many blessings and I have subscribed to your channel.
Thank you Kersten, for the kind comments. I like to show people that they can have a beautiful garden without being a master gardener or having loads of money. All that's required is a good imagination, patience, some work and a bit of guidance. Thank you for subscribing and please keep watching., Part 3 of Potager is coming soon.
This is a perfect day for your Storybook Garden playlist. Thanks for spending the day with me virtually Jeri!

I love that you use your passion for gardening to fuel your storybooks. I can't wait to try these methods.
The art and gardening go hand in hand, that's for certain! I will be interested in knowing which of these methods you apply to your own gardens in the future.
Super plan. wonderful elements.
And easy to follow....
Nice to have you back! So creative! Love to see your garden and animals. Makes one feel quite inadequate.

As Piet Oudolf remarked: "A group of beautiful plants does not make a garden"...sad but true.
I love your charming and creative gardening style, You are an inspiration.
Thank you Beth, so glad you are here!

If you have willow, that is the best to use. But we have so much wisteria that I never have to toss it out when I prune... just make another fence.

I love your videos, Jeri. And your voice is so calm and soothing. Your voice is as peaceful as your beautiful garden. Blessings.
Beverly, Thank you!
I don't know why my voice softens when I do a video, it's just peaceful to talk about garden ideas I guess.....
I just stumbled upon your channel and it is so charming! I am wanting to grow an enticing garden that is also a food forest, this has great ideas thank you 🤗
You can make a food forest that is not only edible, but beautiful as well...
Love Charles dowding!!!
I love his videos and his kind demeanor, seems like such a nice man. And what a great garden he has!

I have to get that book for my inspiration!
It will inspire you for sure, you are a gardener!
The same creative soul has created the gardens as the books - I love the detailed focus and gentle warmth that is imbued in both.
Love your channel.
Thank you so much for these gracious words. I like to think of the gardens as an extension of the art.
Love your garden and stories.
Thank you for coming along !

Thanks for watching Shelly!
This is fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m always inspired by your garden.
I'm glad I can inspire you, even in the winter! There is so much you can do in the garden, when nothing is growing.
That growing zone are you in?
Zone 7
Jeri, how does one purchase your books? They are so charming!
Jacquelyn, Thank you much; you can find my books on my website here:www.jerilanders.com
Where can I get your story books ?
Hi Janice, check out my website here: www.jerilanders.com
You said to use hay but not straw. Why is that?
I think I said Straw and not Hay. Hay has lots of seeds in it and will just grow in the compost.. Straw is best.
