As requested I have made a Battle Beast Walkthrough with all hidden areas and little secrets bar one area with the General that you get on random.
I was going to make this a three part video but ended up editing them together as it wasn't that long.
I may do a commentated walkthrough in the future.
Hope you enjoy :)
I have several channels you may know me by.
I am an animator with some short comedy sketches, a lets player and a casual gamer.

Due to the overwhelming response of battle beast I intend to revisit it with an all new video. To be featured in this video please comment or share a battle beast story/memory. Battle beast Questions, mentions on why you hate/ like this game and requests are also accepted.
I never realized how obscure this game was until I got older and would try mentioning it to fellow nostalgic 30 somethings and no one has any idea what I’m talking about. I played this on an emulator recently and my God it has not aged well in terms of gameplay, but I can’t help but love the character designs. With more characters added to the roster and with enough love this could potentially warrant a remake. Also apparently one of the devs was a Beatles fan
I'm 20, but I had this game on the computer when I was very young (we were poor, so I just inherited my dad's Windows 98 and kept it until I was like eight) and absolutely nobody I know has even heard of it.
And Lord, it does not look nearly as good as it did when I was five years old.
Nostalgic 30 something here. Me and one of my best friends played this when we were kids on the original demo and never forgot it. "mommy mommy I want a crappy meal!" Lol. Great characters honestly. DOS fighting games were pretty unusual, the controls were also crazy hard.
This game was the highlight of my early childhood. As a fellow 30-something, I feel you. 😂
Fellow 30+ years old, I thought I had a fever dream and this game didn't even exist. I tried to describe this game countless times to my friends, even the ones who know about some such weird and obscure windows 95 shit and nobody knew what I was talking about! I remember the last stage with frogs and sewer section and cartoony design. I don't even know how I got to the last arena because I played it at some friends computer for maybe 2 hours at best.
took me like a few whole minutes to find this on google when i didn't remember what it was called...
When my Dad bought our first PC back in 95 there was this little cd booklet full of software and games. I remember playing Caesar II and this.
I had the exact same one. Was it dark red with a white bridge and held two CDs alongside eachother? Also had encyclopedia and some other software. I have the wallet somewhere held together with tape and some of the original leaflets and CDs inside. Sadly battle beast and Caesar are gone
@@rudimental8917 Yes! I had that too. It's the IBM OEM CD booklet I think. Sadly the last time I checked the booklet, the Battle Beast disc was gone and I forgot the name of the game so I tried hard to search for it lol
@@rudimental8917 I think it was. I don't even know if the sleeve still exists or we gave it away.
@@DrowningInTea the exact one
@bum bam And Encarta (with Mind Maze) as well.
I've been looking for this forever
Willy Will Mistadontplay fuck me too!
@@polanialmoni6274 Same here guys xd I was looking for it for like a 7 years. No one knew what I was talking about xd
@@akilisimm This game was obnoxious, the controls were such ass
Someone should do a Kickstarter of a reboot of this game. Same animations, same story, same characters, bigger roster, better gameplay. Maybe even a create-a-beast!
That would be awesome!!!!!
I remember this game from so long ago and watched my older cousins play this (but I never knew what the game was). I don't know why, but I'm very happy to have finally found it after all this time. Thank you kindly.
This game is a nightmare from which I cannot wake.
Haha, I also used to play this game as a kid. The way I could defeat the boss was with the green dinosaur guy's (I'm really unaware of his name) "scratch" move. It reaches quite far and has an effect of paralyzing the opponent for a very short moment. Repeating that over and over again always got me to the ending. xD
문동선 I think that it's because the "scratch" move didnt load well and the game around you would freeze. So you could just wail on him
I had the demo of this game and always loved the character designs and concept of cute little animals, turning into these murderous robots.
I remember playing this game as a kid, but I had a super hard time with the controllers. I did not know which buttons to push and did not know if I needed to use the keypad or a joint stick to play. I was never able to beat the game, so I'm glad I finally got to see the good ending.
Same!
I have been looking for this game so long! I was beginning to think it was a fever dream! Thank you!
I wish 7th level was still making games, their style was so unique. I mean the gameplay was never very good, but the art and humor was so wonderful
I remember seeing a demo for this game on my Tuneland CD, but it wasn't playable. So glad I found this video.
OMG! Yes! I was waiting for this!! Ahhh! Thank you so much! *_* Also you did great, haha XD
Thanks a lot. I am glad you liked it :)
You, sir, did a very good strategy! Get all powerups and save them for Evil Toad Man!
Yeah really need them. This game is insane on the hardest difficulty
Love this game! Was part of my childhood.
Sparky was always my fav
I remember playing this when I was a kid. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for uploading this vid. Unlocked so many memories
I always loved this game since it first came out, and I wish it would come back out again! Maybe on the Switch or Steam or something.
I think you can download a version online somewhere that works on modern pcs?? It's been a while since I last looked
Ri-Pixelated U think so? That would be awesome!
@@Long-HairedLuigi I remember using it once but I can't remember where I found it. It was pretty accurate too. I'm sure you could fine it or an iso.
Much like Dino Riders, this is a game the best of us remember and the rest look at us like "Excuse me, what?"
What an incredibly bizarre game...I really don't know how to feel about it.
Back in the days when I was a kid, during family vacation, first I've got a spanish(?) game magazine with big poster in it (head-to-head sparky vs vermin). Just because I liked the cover yet couldn't get the entrails tho. I think I had a demo-game with the magazine, yet even after I've got the game itself, my English was too bad to understand what sarge was blabbering and also wanted from me. Ah the childhood. The poster was badass! Several games I remember from these times: Crusader no regret, Battle beasts, Hi-Octane, Syndicate Wars, Mad Dog Mccree, Cyberia
I only remember ever seeing the cover art in a magazine but never knew what it was all about. What a trip to finally see the gameplay.
I remember i played that on My old pc since i was a kid. At the last stage. I couln't defeat that evil toad man. Atleas this was My first seen ending on this year. Sorry for bad english. ;w;
Daniel theblackwolf it's interesting to see when he wins too
I couldn't find anything about this game ANYWHERE and thought I was just imagining it.
Man I loved this game. Along with the incredible machine, miss frizzle solar system, hoverboard, the Oregon trail and QUAKE..
Holy hell, the flashback!
Had this game back in the day, but couldnt get past the title.
Even TV Tropes doesn't seem to have covered this game as of yet. Obscure, but I remember playing it on an old Acer Aspire desktop, on a disc which game in a folder.
If only there was Saturday morning cartoon of this from the late 90's
I had a demo disc with this game on it along with Doom95 & Arcade America! Even though I never got to play the full game I loved it alot & played the demo often!
This game gave me the creeps as a kid. It would make me and my brother cry trying to play it because we couldn’t figure out the keys.
Me and my older brother played the fuck out of this game. Thanks for posting the video. Brings back fond memories.
To think... All those years ago, I was able to almost beat this game. I could get him to the last hit, but I could never get it. Every hit just felt like it did no damage and I went from near full HP to dead, while he sat on that pixel sliver of health...
At least now I've seen the end. So that's something
Sparky is my favorite sometimes. ;-)
Omgggg this brings back all the memories
Omg, I found my childhood game by accident.
Wow, looking at how much damage the boss did to you with every hit, it looks like when I was a kid I played in max difficulty (the boss hit pretty hard) without noticing (at that age I didn't know about english), but even then I managed to defeat him in a not so "elegant" way: Vermin (the rat) has a technique where he uses his own head to hit you while stretching his neck; I just get in melee range (right next to him) and rapidly spam that technique over and over. Little could do the boss to get away from that trap, he recieved almost every of those hit and if he guarded himself it would still get some damage.
Sadly, my favourite character is Nasator (blue dinosaur), but using Vermin was the ONLY way for me to defeat the boss (having 8 years old and without noticing it was in max difficulty of course) :
Jonathan Villa he is super hard I had to play a few times. Controls don't help either lol it's a great game though
I agree, the boss is hard and you don't get more tries if you don't saved the game, the controls are the worst part, bieng clunky, with delay and not so much detail frames in animation you are playing the game against all odds.
Jonathan Villa I did a review actually saying that. Whoever designed the special moves wasn't too smart either. You have to press 1 & 2 to enter beast mode but special attacks also involve you pressing 1 & 2. I never go for specials for that reason. Too hard to pull off, plus you lose life the more you go in and out of beast mode
Actually, now that you mention it, you're right!, I forgot that flaw with the special attacks, more than one time I reverted back to pet form because of that (they should have added a third button to toggle transformation).
Btw, did you know you can perform combos? I only managed to do a 2 combo hit though lol
Jonathan Villa mine tok
I remember watching my brother play this game back in the 90s
Im fucking amazed that when I saw something that reminded me of this.....I STILL REMEMBERED THE NAME!
Its like Toon Beast Wars
12:16 *The General* is my favourite character! 😂12:55 🤣
Out of curiosity, how did you run this game? Since it is a 16-bit executable it simply does not run natively on 64-bit Windows. I personally play it by running Widows 3.1 under Dosbox.
tunainoil windows vpc 2007
Lmao this game is real! I remember playing this as a really young kid, I was starting to wonder if it was real or some sort of dream that I mistook for a memory
It is very much real lol
8:18 Never knew there's a secret stage there too
Game I use to hown when I was young. How can I play it nowadays??
I remember this game seemed so awesome but I just couldn’t put time in to play but now with all the other games I had 😔
It’s only a couple of hours long luckily and you can get it for ms dos to play on windows 10/11 from websites like www.old-games.com/
why didn't you collect any of the items lying around like the potions and gasoline etc.
It is a bit hard with the clunky controls. I know you get points from them but chose not to as I didn’t need it.
@@Maria_MMC_TTV thanks for the active response bro! I used to love this game and only found about 3 of those spots before. I was hoping you’d show more moves though, like head attack and also you never used the specials you got on the final map. I always loved Sparticus and his special is bending over like a werewolf and chomping 3 times.
@@chimyshark yes there are lots of moves but very hard to pull off without a joystick
where can i get this today havent played since i was a kid. im suprised how well the art style held up
It wouldn't run on newer pcs. But you may be able to find it from a website or something? You could always purchase the CD from Amazon or eBay if you have windows xp or lower
Me and my brother tried to beat the boss in this game, but we couldn't even reach him as he was always shooting projectiles at our player. But the concept and the animations are fun to watch.
By the way, do you have a video with all the scenarios of toads attacking citizens? I remember one when a granny is shopping for some meat and then a toad jumps at her, scaring the hell (or was it teeth) out of her. It was hilarious! 😃
5:21 I'm certain that DIDN'T happen after choosing the weapon, but rather when pressing left after you entered that chamber
OMG!!! I was looking for this game for years now. I remember when I was a kid. I got this game at a tag sale and when I got home to play it. I didn't know the controls so I got super upset and angry at the game. I started peeling my mom's computers keys off. Long story short idk what my mom did with the computer but the game was inside the disc drive.
Oh my goodness!
Umm...cool story, bro?
I won final boss really really rarely. And I saw bad ending really often
Guy Who Knew Too Much yes it's extremely hard unless you know the game really well and expect the clunkyness
Ah, man, I got this game for free with my first PC in 1997. Oh, the memories. Had to go find it again, since I remembered the tone and style of voice acting, but didn't speak English back when I played this game. I can hardly believe it's Maurice Lamarche as the voice of the Toadman - I would have thought he would have been too big for this sort of thing. Not that I'm complaining.
I think it's because back then video games were quite new and big so that's maybe why he did it
@@Maria_MMC_TTV golden age of gaming imo.. 90s was bloomin with new stuff every other year
I've been looking for a showcase of all the Battle Beasts' moves, including special attacks, and what each of their guns looks like. Any chance you can make one anytime soon?
Brian Sanders I will see what I can do. I have been sick lately but I will get back into it once I start making videos again
I love this game my enfance
Is the Powerizer making the loading sound from Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex?
The Saints Cat That's a very good question. I honestly don't know
Damn I remember playing this when I was 6 👴
fak, thank you for showing me Ending hahahaah now I can forget this game...
I think I have the disk somewhere. O.o Holy shit.
download link?.
Well, this game is horrible, but the concept is cool and the voice acting is nice. I had the demo as a kid and could not even figure how to control the characters properly.
mean mole it's playable when you get the hang of it. Lol I grew up with it so managed to get through it with keyboard and mouse. You really need a joystick for it
Exactly my case. When I booted up the demo at the time it was only to watch the intro sequences. When it was time to actually play the game I had 0 idea of what i was supposed to to
This and pajama Sam. Best games ever.
드디어 제목알아냈다.... 하고싶어
Whoa! Maurice LaMarche did the main villain!
Yep that’s why I used the pinky and the brain reference in the review I did if thengame
EPIC GAME XD
My childhoodddd
Omfg I found it!
I wasn't even good at this game because, it was hard to get use to the controls, and I never got to the end at all man...
What the heck was Sparticus' special attack again?
Brian Sanders he gets down on his knees and bites like a dog while making snapping dog noises
Brian Sanders special attacks are so hard to pull off on the keyboard as they're the same buttons as beast mode
I meant the attacks that have limited use, like when Vermian throws a trash can, or Torkuda flies and shoots a short-range fireball.
Brian Sanders yea pretty sure that was his special attack. I remember the others though.
I'm positive that biting charge didn't use up any special attacks, so it doesn't count. It's like Vermian's head turning into a drill. It has to have limited uses to count as a special attack.
Вааап как же долго я вспоминал сто это за игра. В детстве играл а название забыл
Is this game on Steam?
No only on old-games.com
@@Maria_MMC_TTV Oh, drat.
Maybe someday... along with M.O.N.S.T.E.R.S. ...
@@Long-HairedLuigi pretty sure they’re all changed to work on new pcs on old-games.com though
@@Maria_MMC_TTV Hmm, I wonder if they might work on the new Steam Deck as well (since they say it is a "portable computer")?
@@Long-HairedLuigi I’m hoping so because I’m gonna try it
Any chance someone could create these characters for MUGEN?
Thx tifa XD
I need this on steam
You can get it here:
www.old-games.com/
But you have to pay for it
Is that Tim Curry!!!???!?😱😱😱😱😱
Tim curry??
와 시발 이거 완전 오랜만이네ㅋㅋㅋ
집에 시디있던데ㅋㅋㅋ
www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:A22p I think I'll get this one at some point, if I can find one. They're not TOO dear in the UK.
Lucky!! they're worth around 400 - 500 AUD here in Australia
Oh dear, I played this back in the day! Gameplay looks like total garbage. No wonder I had erased it from my memory.
This game runs at 10fps, I'M NOT JOKING !
Yea it really does
A lot of old games ran at about 20 depending
Of course, nobody expected 60fps at 90', but what I said is literally, Battle Beast runs at 10fps, even if you put the video in 0.25 you can notice it
Tomas Stummvoll oh yea definitely
와 진짜 이거 완전 오랜만이다 ㅋㅋ
I'm pretty sure I'm first..
Haha congrats. This has been long requested and I hardly see any online walkthroughs.
Yeah, a lot of games like this don't get attention, I appreciate that you spend so much on these.
No worries. I actually have an IBM 95 and hope to record more of these. I'm just waiting for it to be repaired.
Really? What happened to it?
Just needs a new vga port. It is very old
Awful game, like worse than the very first Street Fighter. Yet it looks good on screenshots (high resolution sprites) and the character designs are nice.
I hope one day someone will rip all the graphics and then the game can be rebuilt in another engine, like Mugen, with a better gameplay.
You're not wrong I did a review of how bad it was
@@Maria_MMC_TTV I personally love the game, but it does suck. If there was ever a way this game could get remade or a sequel, I would be 100% down for it. Fix the controls (and the clunky gameplay all together) add more characters (why just 6?), keep the art style because it is nice, just touch it up a bit, add more music, add more of a variety in the characters because all of them feel the exact same. Basically take the game and make it 100 times better is what I'm saying. Too bad something like that will never happen
@@TailsPrower07 totally agree
@@TailsPrower07 Yes, yes, yes and more yes.
The frame rate and slow control response are the main issue here. It's the same issue with all 7th Level games. They all had these great, colorful cartoon graphics and tons of voice acting, but they couldn't handle being actual fast and responsive action/arcade games. That's why most of these graphically rich 7th Level games had nothing but clicking on screen mechanics wise (a lot of them were edutainment). The only action games I recall were Battle Beast and Arcade America. Both of these were awfully clunky.
It's not super surprising though, mind you, these were very early Windows games (again, your DOS tag is wrong in the video title, these are all Windows games and will NOT work in DOS) and early Windows games were awful because you didn't have good optimization for game development. It was easier to create multimedia rich programs like these, but your hardware resources were screwed when it came to actual gameplay mechanics.
This gane was one of my favourites. I am also looking for the name of a game, let me explain it to you, maybe someone can help me. So, the game is like this: You are a guy at the beach with a water gun and you need to splash girls so they will take of their bra.
Does anybody know the name of it??
