That is still more than in FE:H which is what he is saying. In that game armored units move 1, infantry move 2, and the cavalier and flier classes move 4. Compare that to a regular FE game where even the armored units move 4 spaces at least, and that is why it feels trippy to see

Kevin Rivera Oh, okay. Sorry, I don't really watch the trailers more than once, mostly because I end up writhing in anticipation - so my memory of Mycen's voice is a little fuzzy. As for his name, well, same as before, plus I've not played any of the games before Awakening.
Whenever, I go to the comments section of an FE Echoes video, I usually see 4 different factions: 1) People saying that this is a step down because "I wantz mah pair-up and S-supports", 2) People who openly voice their disdain and hatred towards the newer games and those who like them as if they were the spawn of the devil, 3) People crying out "UGH THIS SHOULD BE ON THE SWITCH! LET THE 3DS DIE ALREADY!", and 4) People who are overall hyped for this game, regardless of the previous 3. As someone who started with Awakening and Fates, I am excited by the prospect of playing a remake of an older series title (and one that was Japan-exclusive). I've had loads of fun with both Awakening and Fates, from the engaging turn-based combat and gameplay to the variety of characters and support conversations. Heck, I've even gotten my fair And don't even get me started on their phenomenal soundtracks! That said, I am not so ignorant as to ignore the faults and flaws with each game (Awakening's broken Pair Up and reclass systems, the stories for each game, Fates' implementation of child units, etc). But I still got a good amount of enjoyment out of them despite their shortcomings. And because of Fire Emblem Heroes introducing me to characters from across the series' history, I've been set on finding and playing through older titles (heck, I just purchased preowned copies of Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones) and once I'm through with finals (Naga have mercy on my soul T-T), I have every intent on playing those games from beginning to end in this final month before Echoes hits western shelves. To sum it all up, while we may have our varying opinions on this series, its games, and its fans, we should all at least recognize that we are all a apart of this world we call "Fire Emblem".
Sorry if this was rather long-winded or that it ended on a somewhat cheesy note. I just wanted to say my piece on the goings-on of the FE community. Pls don't hate me...

So judging by all the footage I've seen. I think a little, but amazing detail has been added to give the character models more life in combat. I love how all the characters keep their color pallets when you change their classes, rather than just getting the generic model with their head stuck on it

That was the highlight for me, even in sacred stones i didn't use em because i'm superficial like that. Now if only we could get cavaliers and paladins with normal horses like in awakening, these new animations look a bit silly for the mounted units.

I am one of the After Awakening fans, and I honestly want this remake to sell well. I started playing Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones, and they're amazing games, and much more difficult than Awakening. I hope we can get more remakes.

I'm pretty happy that we're getting a more sophisticated game compared to Awakening and Fates. Regardless of what you think about the new games, you have to admit it was chock-full of fanservice.
Well, we can't argue about the fact that said fan-service got results. Though I felt some of the characters in those games were too high-school-anime-ish.

Chris Heidke Effective bow damage only is active if a bow item is equipped. Odd, I know, but that's how it was in the original Gaiden.
Swedish X Actually, the Bow needs to gather the ability "Anti-Fliers" to do critical damage. I Think that's good because of the counter of the archer, that would be OP early game to be honest

I adore the artstyle/presentation of this game. It's definitely still anime-inspired, and the characters look very distinctive and cool/pretty, but it takes a needed (in my opinion) step back from the very fanservice-y art direction of Fates. Plus the character models more realistically proportioned, which looks great. And the animations seem to be at least as flashy and exciting as Radiant Dawn and Fates, which in my eyes are the best-animated 3D games thus far. So hyped to experience it myself.

If the 3DS wasn't going to be on its way out soon, I'd loved to have seen other FE games remade in this 3DS FE style such as Binding Blade and Blazing Sword/blade.
I just mentioned the first games that popped into my mind but yeah, I'd like to see all the games that weren't released outside of Japan remade at some point.

I've no doubt it will. I'm actually hoping they eclipse Awakening as well. Nothing against Awakening, but I like to see Fire Emblem do well.
It's not really going to be directly comparable. Measuring the sales of Echoes against just one version of Fates would be misleading, since not everyone who played Fates would have purchased that version, but comparing sales to all 3 versions combined would include loads of people who bought 2-3 versions. Let's just hope Echoes sells well regardless of its predecessors. :)

Honestly, to my surprise, the most toxic people in the comment section aren't even the fates and awakening fans..Cause all the "Real Fans" automatically think you're some kind of idiot who doesn't deserve to play FE games if you like awakening or fates...I've seen more people bash the awakening and fates fans, then actual awakening and fates fans in this comment section so far...That's a little pathetic to be honest. Just grow up, and realize people have their own opinions.

Never played a Fire Emblem game, should I pick this up or Awakening. What's the best for first timers?
Since FE Echoes is coming out soon I would play that game first. Then after that play FE Awakening, its one of the best Fire Emblems for newcomers.
After playing Echoes or Awakening, If you want a more Challenging FE in terms of gameplay difficulty I would suggest investing in FE Fates (Conquest) or the FE GBA titles.
Awakening is a great start, avoid Birthright at all cost
If you really want a good start for FE, start with Fire Emblem 7 or this one. FE7 has a Lyn mode, which acts as a good tutorial for newcomers and eases you into Eliwood mode, which provides a decent challenge for newcomers, but is very doable. This game is based off Gaiden, which is a rather simple game, but is really different from the others. It'll probably have some sort of tutorial as well.

Considering the game got leaked around 2 weeks ago and it released in japan 2 days ago I can say....
The gameplay is a disapointment.
Presentation is good and they gave attention to plot, but the gameplay is urgh

So I'm playing the original and I gotta admit, the map design in gaiden is very simplistic. I'm in chapter 3 and cleared 2 maps from this chapter on Alm's route and 1 on Celica's route, so far there is only 2 maps that I think that had some thought put into them when they were being designed, the the final map of chapter 1 and the first Celica's map in chapter 3.
Slique's body proportions seems or feels wrong.... It's like they put Slique's head on Nomah's body or something.

I'm super hyped about this game. I just REALLY wish I could stop myself from reading the comments on these videos because it's always a huge mistake.
Especially with all the newer fans claiming that there's some huge divide between the fanbase when I only ever see them complaining about others. As well as insulting anyone who attempts to point out flaws in what are quite honestly the weakest games in the series.
It goes both ways. Not saying that fans of Awakening/Fates aren't responsible for being dickheads, but the elitist faction is just as bad. In general, the FE fanbase is full of.. well, not-so-nice-people.

Nintendo please, tweak the trailer all you want, that's fine, but don't throw in completely inaccurate and false images in there that cannot be achieved without hacking in the base game. (Sage Silque and not Cleric or Saint or Priestess, and Mae using Excalibur).

Eh, I'm indifferent in general, but units in general had very specific spell sets in Gaiden and now SoV as well and this created distinctness between units of even the same gender. Some of these classes are also genderlocked so it's just really weird. If they were to do away with genderlocked classes in Switch I'd be down for that but I guess I just like my consistency.

Maybe in visuals and vaing along with trying some new things, the map design however will be something that holds it back compared to other titles.

Scuttlest It's sad though that the Amiibo's over all are pretty much worthless long term. Its kind of a shame the didn't take the fates route and make them full characters.
Skurk That would we welcomed for the Switch title. As for warriors though I kind of doubt it. Its probably a safe guess that most of its characters will be fulled from Shadow dragon, Awakening and fates, so half the Fe amiibo's are out right there, and given it seems IS is getting a little greedy these days with DLC, I"m more guess they would want to sell Ike, Roy, ect. as dlc characters, with maybe their Amiibo giving special weapons or something of that sort.

Wow I thought this game would help bring the community together, but nope more of the same bitchy elitists bringing up Awakening and Fates again when they don't have anything to do with this game. Learn to enjoy and appreciate that we are even getting more remakes of the older games, instead of continually bashing the newer fans.
This community is now one wild beast, its a shame there aren't as many veterans like myself who enjoy pretty much every FE.
They have every right to bash. I see quite some newer fans saying "oh it's a step down for not including marriage" and crap like that. Stop trying to blame it on the super small elitists. If you ever went on reddit the majority of classic fans are respectful.

Sadly, a lot of this people forget that Awakening suppose to be the last game in the series. But then we got Fates, the Franchise continues and didn't "die". Without the success of this two games, we would not get Echoes, FE Warriors and the switch FE game. Awakening and Fates had issues but they are fine in their own way. Instead of being thankful, they are still bitching and complaining... it's so frustrating and sad. Who knows which FE games will we get in the future because the franchise is now pretty popular. I guess, those people can't think that way.
Although i really like Fates; i don't want a game to be like Fates again. It should stay a one time thing.
With that said, i am excited for Echoes :)
