That drainage pipe around the foundation is a lot of work, but I think it will payoff in case we have a really wet winter. 👍The yellowjackets have been EXTREMELY aggressive this year, I have been stung 4 times so far.
Greetings, I’ve been following your channel since the very beginning, I’m really enjoying everything you guys do. I know that you’re probably well past the backfill stage since there’s always a delay between filming your work and posting, but you’ll probably run into the trench location problem again in future projects. Move the spoils away from the edge of the trench and then place the ramps from your trailer across the trench and cross it with the tractor, if the ramps hold your tractor for loading, it’ll carry the weight crossing the ditch.
As I said scarily found out keep Benadryl on hand at all times! Turns out as soon as I turn 50 I am now allergic to possibly bees. So I basically carry Benadryl on my person or nearby at all times. Great video guys! Can't wait to check it out in person.
Yeah, that was definitely a scary situation for you! So glad you were able to get to the hospital. I'm hoping it won't resort to a hospital trip, for me. 🙏🏼
Watch out on those stings. If they are getting worst you may need medical attention. They can be dangerous. Loved seeing the water being collected; every drop counts. Stay safe while working. I think you are doing a very good job with your drain tile. Happy DAYS await you.
@@Kudzu-Kid thank you my friend. Our neighbor has a few epi pins if Tania has a really horrible reaction. We just hope they go away as the weather gets colder! 🤞
When my dog was alive, he always enjoyed sky raisins (flies). And then he found out about the sweet jalapeño sky raisins (bees). But he never liked the unsweetened jalapeño sky raisins (yellow jackets) because they can sting multiple times when swallowed whole.
So confused with the drains? If there isn’t enough water to drill a well why so much effort in the foundation drains? I’ve only seen French drains for full basements? You guys work so hard! ❤
@@robertaphilbrick2393 Thank you 😊 All footings, for a foundation, should have a drain tile (French drain) installed to take any potential water away from the footing. We just don’t want any water issues in our crawl space. As far as a well, around here they are extremely deep, which drives the cost way up. The quotes we got were $70,000 plus and no guaranty of water! Also, with the few wells around the area, the water is hard and of poor quality.
@ yeah we saw where you mentioned the expensive costs for wells there…outrageous for sure! Funny we never heard about a French drain until we moved to SC. Yet in NH they rarely used them…instead they cut around the full basements, coated the walls in rubber and backfilled with sans/gravel etc. Then they wondered why they had mold and humidity issues 😂 Just thought with such deep wells in your area water in a basement or crawl space would not be an issue 👍🏼
@ lol older Michigan homes did the same thing. No protection or drain just sand backfill and they wondered why there was mold in the crawl space or basement 😂 We get about 24” of rain a year here in Idaho and that’s the main reason for the drain tile. Just to keep the foundation as dry as we can. Honestly with us collecting rain water from the roof, even the rain won’t be an issue…just doing all we can to help!
Not sure if there are micro plastics in rainwater, but we use a Berkey Water Filtration system, which does remove microplastics. We will have a 3-Stage water filtration system, with a UV sterilizer, for the house.
I enjoy watching your videos, a few words of advice, never stand in front of a running machine! It could pop into gear and run you over in the foundation trench.. I'm just concerned for you and your wife's safety. George (20years heavy equipment operator, Phoenix AZ.
@@georgezeroles2477 thank you. We definitely need to be more smart about the equipment and safety. We do always set the break if the tractors running! 👍

@@Forest_Actual we hope all the prep work will pay off. We have knocked the yellowjackets back a lot with traps but they are still very aggressive.
