As you get further on or your health is not as good or just getting worst, this is the main savior, for me at least, it is hard, but doing it without the acapella is truly painful. I didn't use to use this device even though my nurses trained me to use it and gave it to me early on, because when I was younger it was easy for me to huff without one and it did not hurt one single bit.
But now a bit older, it takes the hard blowing out of it, its setting is calm and keeps me from stopping this exercise altogether, even though it is a crucial one to help me stay mobile and I don't move very far freely. When I first started huffing exercise's I showed my elderly parents and they would stop doing it, I always thought they were lazy but sadly now I know. Huffing becomes painful and this acapella saves you from giving up. This machine is a must. In the last few mouths I started carrying it around with me and thats why I'm here today. I thought I would at least learn what it is called after all these years, incase I lost it. I'm going to buy me a spare .

I can't get it open, I've even tried prying it open with a kitchen knife. What is the trick?

There are different models. You might have the acapella dh, green with a white/clear mouthpiece. That one doesn't disassemble. The one in the video is called acapella choice

Thanks. My physiotherapist gave me an Aerobika, as she said they were the same as A CAPPELLA. However, I don't feel anything in my throat when breathing out. My insurance does not cover this either. But with COPD and asthma, my Dr saw lots of small pockets of mucus in my lungs. So I know I need to do my best to get them up.
