Thank you, I just picked up a Brother SnC from FB Marketplace. It has a learning curve and a lot of trial and error. Having someone who works on bags take the time to share their knowledge is wonderful! I am older and my cutting skills are not what they used to be😉. Quick story- first time using my SnC I loaded the mat wrong, it was crooked and needless to say, I was fighting with the machine and trying to pull it out by hand, Not A Good idea! Glad my hubby didn't walk in to witness it.😄
Barb, since your machine is probably out of warranty like mine, just clean your old mats with either that new Dawn foam spray or Grease Lightening spray. Let it sit for a bit then scrape off the gunk. I use ZigZag glue to restick the mat. It goes on blue but dries clear. I got that tip from a UA-cam channel that does all Scan-n-Cut Know-How videos. 😊
Fantastic video!!!! Your instructions are always very clear and easy to follow. I sure like the way your canvas workspace is laid out, mine is different. 🤷🏼♀️
Thank you so much!!! It could be because you have the online version... be sure to get the downloaded version, much more user friendly and more functionality.
Hi, Barbie! Thanks so much for this demonstration. I don't have the scan & cut, but I've been thinking about getting one, down the road. It doesn't look as complicated as I thought it might be!
Quite new to the scan and cut but if you resized the square to 1 inch when all the pieces are highlighted would it automatically resize to the correct size? Seems logical to me but logic and me don’t always go together !! Really enjoy all your videos. You are my go to you tuber as we’re around the same age and can relate. X
Thank you! I’m considering getting a scan n cut. Do you ever wish you had the one that scans the 24” mat? I was wondering if the is a way to resize using the 1” square? I’m concerned about getting the pieces sized correctly especially for something like the bag buddy where there are 3 pieces that fit together. Enjoyed the demo!
I've wondered the same thing about resizing using the one inch square. I'm going to try to research that. I did end up selling my dx125e to get a Dx 325 so I could scan the 12 x 24 mat. I had a couple situations where I really wanted to scan the longer mat. 😊
Well... yes I do... I may sell this one and get the other... "DON'T tell Tony!!!" However I have still used my 12 x 24 mat... i'm just careful where I put the images to be cut.
I’ve used my scan n cut for a few zipper overlays. I’d like to know/find a solution for cutting vinyl that may have a little stretch in it. Have you experienced this??? Thanks for the tutorial!
I haven't yet... I do use a fair amount of basting spray when I'm worried about it moving and the painters tape on the edges too.. Have you tried that?
@ Yes, I have, I have a feeling I need to upgrade to a scan and cut that has a rotary cutter. I can only think that I’m getting too much drag on the blade or not the correct pressure on the cut. The older models just have numbers for the depth of the cut instead of the new pressure sensitive feature . It seems to pull on the vinyl unless it’s a stable/with no stretch.
@@marilynm.329 whenever i cut a zipper overlay I always back it with decovil light. I don’t have a scan and cut yet and I’m just doing them by hand right now. I feel it adds to the stability of the overlay and makes edge painting easier too.

@ that’s what I was wondering about. I don’t need all the extras or the Disney stuff
Totally agree. I didn't get one with the Disney stuff either.

Do you like using your Scan N Cut for cutting out your bag pieces? I feel like it would be much faster than cutting by hand.
I love it.... it is really best for smaller pieces!
