Unfortunately UK citizens have been removed from India's eVisa system. It is however available to nationals of “156 eligible countries” from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe as well as the whole of the European Union members. No officiall reason has yet been given as to why the Indian Government has done this. However, understandably it remains furious over the tight restrictions the British authorities place on Indian visitors to the UK, and perhaps this is the way it is showing its displeasure.

Hi Cameron, thanks for being a superstar and giving up your spare time to help people out. I have a question for you and as many others if you would all be kind enough to comment. On the final part of the online application where you upload a photo it details some very simple instructions, but on the linked government of India detailed instruction sheet it says this "Make sure that photo presents full head from top of hair to bottom of chin. Head should measure 1 inch to 1-3/8 inches (25mm to 35mm). Make sure eye height is between 1-1/8 inches to 1-3" ... WTF !

      You're welcome!
Aha well, I didn't even realise those exact specifications existed!
Just stick to the regular passport style specs and you will be fine. If in doubt, do what I did - visit a passport photobooth.
The photo I uploaded online was actually just a rough image I took at home against a white wall with some decent lighting. It doesn't have to match the physical passport style photos you print either.

Thank you for this very useful and informative video I followed the process and didnt have any problems.
Would just like to add a few things that other people might find useful
If you are applying for more than one visa you need to have a individual print out of the appointment confirmation letter even if you are applying together.
If you have booked a appointment and found your application was wrong you can redo the application form i would suggest taking both copies to the appointment and informing the visa officer of the change.
Ensure that all the information provided is correct and accurate as if you have made any mistake the application will be rejected on the spot before you make it to your appointment resulting in loosing your place and booking another appointment is very difficult.
Last but not least give the visa officers a break as the amount of people that turned up with incorrect application forms and some even turned up without the correct documents were unbelievable.
To be on the safe side i paid a travel agent a fiver to double check my documents to ensure it wouldnt be rejected on the spot.

Hey Cameron! Just one regarding to the latter part, where you had to add your covid pass etc etc. How does it work if don’t actually have your plans in place for India yet? By that, I mean that I plan on heading to Nepal in a few weeks and would like, after a couple of months there, to cross the land border into India on a currently unknown date or location. Am I all good once I just have the passport back with the paper visa or? I’m in Spain currently so will be applying from the vfs centre here in Madrid

    • @CameronSpencer
      @CameronSpencer  Рік тому

Hello, I would check the COVID rules when travelling into India from Nepal and then fill out the Air Suvidha form once you've finalised your flights from Nepal to India. That shouldn't be an issue and won't affect your Tourist Visa. The COVID pass and Air Suvidha are not part of your Tourist Visa application. :)

@@CameronSpencer cheers Cameron, that’s brilliant! Another one, well couple, that I’ve encountered when completing the initial form….present address and permanent address…for me, I’m in Spain with in-laws so my current address is different from my typical address in England..should I resubmit the form and just put my UK address? Because I’ve heard I may need to prove my address (will be visiting the Madrid VFS office). Further, does the photo you upload, need to be identical to the photo you attach to the physical copy? Whole thing is so unclear! Cheers

As for the address, it'll be whatever your permanent address is. You can resubmit if you put the wrong address.

Hi Cameron, a very informative video and Reddit post!
I would just like to ask, what piece of information/ documents did you take along for your meeting?
    - PDF document (application)
    - Attached passport size photo to the PDF
    - For the signature area, I'm guessing this is okay be handwritten?
    - Any additional documents to take? please kindly advise.
My only concern I feel I have is for the application part it had asked for previous visa issue date and number, but I think I may have inputted an older date and number 😟.. so, i was thinking in the interim to create a new application and re enter the relevant issue and number. I had only booked my appointment today for the beginning of November 2022. So, I'm hoping that's not a problem creating a new application and booking a new date for my meeting too (with my new application deets)
Anyways enough rambling around - once again highly appreciate any feedback and thanks for supporting us all!

Please refer to the checklists linked in the description. Handwritten signatures are fine. I printed a scanned copy of my passport too on an A4 sheet of paper.
Don't forget the declaration form and sign it too. Link is in the description. Also print the appointment confirmation page itself (with your time on it).
RE: reapplying - I had someone message me recently about reapplying as they made a mistake with their photo ID (didn't look right and it wasn't the right orientation) and they had the wrong consulate selected originally (Edinburgh instead of London). They then made a new PDF application with the corrected photo ID and consulate. I've asked him for updates.
