The seal community got your casting call for this event and they all arrived to model with you. All this modelling! And gopher's - too! The seal suit is looking right smart. :)))
Monumental day for me today. I extended my p b breathhold from 1min 45 secs ( in the pool) on 2 consecutive dives. 1st dive = 2 min 15 secs & second dive 2 min 2 secs...rapt. I promised myself I'd book a free diving course if I ever got beyond 2 minutes..time to stop talking & now do it. This was after a cool down period of finishing my set of 80 lengths ( 25m pool ).....not bad for a 61 year old...:-)
Give me feedback - don't leave this video without giving it a Thumbs up if you liked it - or a thumbs down if you thought it sucked. More coming in 2016, stay tuned.
+Dksjs Jdkdjd if your main problem is holding your breath longer, there's a playlist on his channel about that, that helped me a ton! if its the act of diving itself, I don't know, you probably just need more experience and practice :)
I see. I like to use the lokal pool and dive laps. If you talk to the lifeguard to spot you, or anyone really you can dive and push your limits without a big risk. Even if you should pass out your very close to the surface and rescue is close to.
Jeremy Williams This was a particularly good day. On this day the rock was FULL of seals... I went back a few times before and after and there always some, but never as many as this. They swam around us for about 20 minutes, before they got bored.
The seals are awesome!! I was in cape town few months back. I just hope I'll be able to dive like you one day. Now I am in training. I must say that I love your videos, they're so tranquilizing.
Finally, I've been wondering when the new video will come, :) awesome as always. Those seals are magical, it must be an awesome feeling swimming with them. Keep filming! :D
Ya know, when I search UA-cam for "freediving with seal videos" I have "per video seal limit" and if you had not stated in the title "(warning - many seals)" I would have immediately thumbed down this video and reported it to UA-cam because, unlike some people who don't understand that there are people out there in the world like me who easily can be offended by the amount of seals in one video. Thank you for taking the time to mention that there was going to be an inexcusable and practically offensive amount of seals appearing in this video. You sir, are a gentlemen where it counts. We can all learn a lesson from the ways you use UA-cam.
Fantastic compilation! This video captures everything that makes diving around Oudekraal so much fun; dassies, seals, kelp, big anchors, fish, boulders, mountains, beaches, and when we're lucky, good vis!👍😊
+Meindertjan Rebel Thanks very much for the feedback man! That whole section from Strawberry rocks, Justins, Sandy Cave and the Antipolis wreck is like everything a diver could ever want! Honeslty my favorite spot in the world.......if only it had good visbilility more often.
I always impressed by your great videos. Super quality, not shaky and really good music. I just have a little wish, in your early videos you always add some infos like watertemp (ok that is in the description), dive deep, dive time, rest time and so on. I think this infos really interesting and give us a other/better view of your dive. If you also add the google Maps link of the current video dive spot in your description will be perfect :)
+3joern Oh sure, I will do that in future. Most of my videos have all that. Did you watch the "American Tanker"? That was really comprehensive in the information. The next freediving trip in doing is very very world war 2 focused... I will document everything in ever detail, GPS co-ords, depth, wreck types. As for this video the max depth here was 16m (when resting on the rocks at the bottom with seal checking out the pole) - temperature was 10c. Average dive time, probably between 50 seconds to 1:20 per dive.
+Freediver HD thanks for the infos, I've seen the the american tanker, great video too (the poor girl must rowing ;) too bad the visibility is not so good. The best video for the infos and enjoy your dive is the Mushroom - perfect pictures, infomative and a relaxed dive. The best wreck dive (because pictures) was in USAT Liberty Wreck.
Cold water gear in action ) Dean, I like almost all you videos. What animals on 0:31? Contrasts are great! View point, mountains, beach, stones and water. Very beautiful place...
Fantastic video Dean. Very well composed. I love the way you have introduced us to the dive site through visuals of Cape Town, from the morning to completing the dive in the evening, followed by sunset. I've never had such clear water in Cape Town, except in the aquarium, lol. You say it's not False Bay side, where was this?
+Waterline Diving Academy Thanks very much. This is pretty close to Camps Bay, just a couple minutes along the road from there. So this is nearest to Table Bay, as opposed to False Bay
Love your life man.. Keep it up. That is is what they are, Rock Hyrax. Cute little guys. Do you think you could feed them if you wanted to? Looked friendly. Awesome dive. A guy from S Africa living in Taiwan. You must like it. Too close to China for my tastes.
I'm a huge fan of his and I see most of your videos. You are nice... Your videos under water are super awesome. You did without oxygen pump. This incrible how many years of training you have ?
awesome video! been a big fan - i'm a traveler from the states freediving in cape town, and would love to know where you're going to find these seals :)
Love your videos man , keep on posting . I am inspired I'll be taking a beginners course in Dahab next month ,can't wait . Is it safe to dive around shark food did you have a plan of a shark appeared ? Thanks
Beautiful underwater shots, very clear video - what kind of video camera do you use? And holding your breath for 2 minutes and more at a time in that freezing water? Very impressive all around ...
+Gary K Great whites are more on the Indian ocean side of cape town. This is the Atlantic, and they arent really know for attacking around here.. though every now and again a white shark is spotted swimming around.
Hi, I really appreciate your videos. This time I want to ask you this question : aren't you afraid to freedive with seals? They are not supposed to be too friendly with humans are they? Thank you to send us these beautiful spots! 😍 Cheers
+Cyril Dulout The seals are very friendly. On land seal can be extremely agressive - if you approach them while on land, they will get nasty. This is just cause they fear you, and they cant move quickly away on land. Once in the water, they have all the advanage, you are no longer a threat to them, and they would never harm you.
Hi freedivier HD can u teach me , how to hold breath longer . I cant hold breath longer underwater bcuz of the pressure . I hv master ear equalizing wkwkwk
+Freediver HD I just signed into DeeperBlue Forum and saw this vid there. But I have to say that your vids got me inspired into FD earlier in my interest than any other vids.
+James Gallogly Thats fruther down, towards Cape Point and around into False Bay. I don't have the balls to swim out into open water in False bay. This side on the Altantic side, there isnt much great white activity here. That being said, there are still sharks here, but they just dont seem to attack like viciously like they do in False Bay.
Hey dude! In many videos, I see you exhaling when you are kicking up. But in another video you said, that you should'nt do that. Because of Lung Squeeze? I'm talking about exhaling, when I see the bubbles coming out of your goggles. I don't see any other reason why they should come out. So, why do you exhale when coming up? And when is it safe?
In freediving, when you dive down, the increased water pressure squashes the mask onto your face - to balance the pressure you need to exhale air from your nose into your mask (This is the reason diving masks have a nose pocket, while swimming masks don't). Because there is now more air in the mask at depth than their was at the surface - when swimming up - the air expands and escapes from the mask. You never exhale your air when freediving.
True, MANY seals!! ;-)
The seal community got your casting call for this event and they all arrived to model with you. All this modelling! And gopher's - too! The seal suit is looking right smart. :)))
Those little animals at the start were so cute!😍
Those seals are unreal! Where I live you are lucky if one even comes near you, they are no way near as friendly. Great footage.
Monumental day for me today. I extended my p b breathhold from 1min 45 secs ( in the pool) on 2 consecutive dives. 1st dive = 2 min 15 secs & second dive 2 min 2 secs...rapt. good job!
1046Fay good job
It’s clear this tune is THE seal soul jam...
+Dksjs Jdkdjd master 10 meters first, then aim for 11 meters - then master 11 meters.... and so on and so on, after a few dives you'll be at 15m!
I see. I like to use the lokal pool and dive laps. If you talk to the lifeguard to spot you, or anyone really you can dive and push your limits without a big risk. Even if you should pass out your very close to the surface and rescue is close to.
+Freediver HD Stunning video. Do you think that the seals would normally be that active or are they behaving differently because you are there?
Jeremy Williams This was a particularly good day. On this day the rock was FULL of seals... I went back a few times before and after and there always some, but never as many as this. They swam around us for about 20 minutes, before they got bored.
The seals are awesome!! I was in cape town few months back. I just hope I'll be able to dive like you one day. Now I am in training. I must say that I love your videos, they're so tranquilizing.
It doesn't get much better than the feeling of home waters
Finally, I've been wondering when the new video will come, :) awesome as always. Those seals are magical, it must be an awesome feeling swimming with them. Keep filming! :D

I like how you always choose the correct music for your video content :D
Thank you for your quick answer. That makes sense. I only saw them on land in France, never could swim or dive with them. 👍

+Meindertjan Rebel Thanks very much for the feedback man! That whole section from Strawberry rocks, Justins, Sandy Cave and the Antipolis wreck is like everything a diver could ever want! Honeslty my favorite spot in the world.......if only it had good visbilility more often.

One of the best freediving videos i've ever seen! Question - with so many seals, and given its in cape town, any danger of great whites???
Very Nice!!
Nice Video

What are those animals who look like they are smiling in the beginning of the video?
+Hayden Hicks We call this a 'Dassie' in South African English, but otherwise its known as a 'Rock Hyrax'.
I'm a huge fan of his and I see most of your videos. You are nice... Your videos under water are super awesome. You did without oxygen pump. This incrible how many years of training you have ?
Thanks for the warning, I get an allergic reaction to seals when there are too many in one video
THIS IS CRAZY
Truly amazing and beautiful! What are those called at 0:24 ?
+Kau Thank you very much. The animal is a Cape Dassie (South African English) or Rock Hyrax (international English)
+Freediver HD Related to elephants, what the..
Really cool, thanks!
Kau It is strange isnt it... the teeth are really like elephant tusks
+Freediver HD Yeah, they look quite savage when showing their teeth, just googling them... I don't know, I get an ominous feeling
Great video just like the rest seem to be so far. New sub here :)
+TheDomHussein welcome!

Beautiful underwater shots, very clear video - what kind of video camera do you use? And holding your breath for 2 minutes and more at a time in that freezing water? Very impressive all around ...
How did you get past the fear of coming face to face with a great white?
+Gary K Great whites are more on the Indian ocean side of cape town. This is the Atlantic, and they arent really know for attacking around here.. though every now and again a white shark is spotted swimming around.
did you meet any great white in SA?
+mrMichael8204 not yet, I stay away from their main hunting grounds

Thanks for the warning about the seals, but why didn't you warn me about the fish?! Lol
You're touching everything underwater killlllsssss me no touch
Be quiet
how could anyone possibly disike this?
Hi freedivier HD can u teach me , how to hold breath longer . I cant hold breath longer underwater bcuz of the pressure . I hv master ear equalizing wkwkwk
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't those sea lions, not seals?
+Dawson Ch this is the Cape Fur Seal : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_fur_seal
is this where you got your head nibbled on by one of them?
+moon lite haha. yes
+Freediver HD I just signed into DeeperBlue Forum and saw this vid there. But I have to say that your vids got me inspired into FD earlier in my interest than any other vids.
Thumbs up! In cold water did you get a better bottom time?
Awesome video !!! The water looks cold tho !! At what temperature was it ?
+CarftCrO0K Thank you very much. I think the temperate was around 10c
What camera you’re using?
So cool❤️
God youve got stones. Ive seen sharks the size of small buses off the cape of africa...

It is not seals.
It is fur seals.
Seals rear-wheel drive, and fur seals - front-wheel drive
