Hi Jim … they are all different parts. The lighter Guild guitar is in Nashville tuning - instead of using a 12-string, the parts are doubled on a regular 6 string and a Nashville tuned 6-string. There are a number of reasons for this. Mainly, it is not as boomy when recording, but also, it is easier to be more accurate and all the strings ring out more clearly than if played on a 12-string.
