Love your builds! Way to be resourceful instead of tossing it into the landfill!

How did you know to get 4 ohm drivers? I’m dealing with a broken 4” driver on my Sonos Five and I’m looking for a replacement, but want to match power needs. Can you teach me how to find appropriate ohms/wattage?

I find the dead speaker interesting

Totally weird, right? Must be some sort of bass extension technique

@@TheToneGeek I wonder if their is a way to measure the amount of air that the dead speaker moves to see how effective it is? I'll never forget opening a Bose speaker and see how they built the Chambers. For science class I replicated it out of cardboard. It worked pretty well. But cardboard is too porous and flexed too much.

@@frankhoxsey1177 that's a good question too. I gave the speaker back to the gym so I can't really measure BUT my observation is that it was close, if not exactly, the surface area of both mid range drivers. Funny enough, this is the same approach Dumble used to design the port on the back of his cabs, just without the dummy cone/diaphragm. That's super cool about the Bose design! I've seen some crazy 3D printing projects of folks making some incredibly detailed chamber designs for achieving certain design goals. Way over my head calculations but it makes me wonder if there is guitar applications?
