I thought I'd never find music that I'd tell my kids ''I was there when this number came out'' like old people today, but it seems I will tell my children all about this band, Rest Easy Her's.
Stephen was a genius on guitar. The chords he uses in this song (and most of their songs) are so complex and cramp inducing, yet he played them with such precision and quickness. Audun knew exactly where the bass needs to be in the song and chose the most tastefully melodic path possible. These guys were so good, we need to cherish their music as long as we can.
They truly were. I absolutely adored their sound & was so excited to hear more until I searched them up and found out what happened to them. 😔 At least we have the music they already shared with us. RIP ❤️
"How come you've hit that final chapter. So young, you're days of being free." Knowing what happened a couple months ago, that hits home almost too much.
I saw Her’s live in Dallas, almost two weeks before the accident. To say that this band means something special to me is an understatement - I’ve been obsessed since I discovered their music on a random indie playlist, and their music will always have a special place in my heart.
This song's been on repeat all day today and I still can't believe that they are gone just like that... Stephen was just 24 and Audun was 25..They could've been so much bigger for what they achieved. RIP
I never comment but I really loved these guys more than I thought. I remember first hearing "what once was" back in 2017 and completely falling in love with Stephen's voice so I listened to "Marcel" then "Cool With You" etc etc. I found 'What Once Was' again in June on my old phone and wanted to see if they had any new music out on youtube then I read comments and found out what happened. It makes me sad that I won't ever hear new music from them because they were truly incredible. RIP Her's💐 I'll love you forever
Yeah I was so surprised, I only knew Cool with You from them, then found the song and decided to have one more listen, looked through the comments and they passed away, I'm on here listening to their final album, 21 songs, so much potential, I'm so sad they became my favourite band of the 2010s right after they died R.I.P.
I used to listen to this song before visiting my mom. She passed away yesterday, and it was devistating and sudden. So for all yall with mommas you love, if you know whats right, you'll spend another day with momma. I spent alot of time with her, but it still wasnt enough.
Sometimes when I listen to their songs I still can't believe they died, their music gives me so much good vibes and make me want to see them live, I just have this spark in my heart telling me they're not dead, even tho they are and I really wish they were still alive, but I have to get over it and accept the truth. Their music just makes me feel like they're still alive for some reason. Maybe it's just me. R.I.P
Everybody always mourns their passing which is fair but it seems like people don't acknowledge that nobody before them did what they did and nobody has since. They truly were a unique band.
Just started getting into these guys music, sound is so great and unique, and was just thinking can't wait for new music from them after binging their albums only to find out they've passed. I'm heart broken..
In my mind, this is the perfect pop tune. The chorus is so infectious, catchy light, and memorable. The verses are short and sweet, leading perfectly into the chorus, the bridge is so beautifully crafted and intricate. I mean...what else can be said! One of my favorite songs of all time, no doubt!
Omg just came here because I found this song today and fell in absolute love with it only to find that the geniuses and artists behind it had passed away. RIP you wonderful, talented souls. You've left so much influence on this Earth that will live on in your music. You know when I heard this song I could only think- how can there be hateful and evil people out there when stuff like this exists. This song is pure joy, and the lyrics convey emotions so many of us have felt.
This song resonates with me so much it's frightening, like Stephen and Audun said in an interview with 405, the lyrics are centered around the Idea of not settling for less in life, and if you do, be sure you want to. Make your dreams your reality or you'll always have those thoughts of what you could have achieved, it's your youth and it is one of the most precious times of your life, you can do whatever you want and then settle down and continue with life once you've done all that you planned to do. I'll be going to another country next year, to study and it has been one of my dreams to do so. For so long I've relied on my parents for everything but since I've finally come of age and have garnered up the capability to start living my life on my own, taking care of myself financially whilst working towards my future and becoming so darn capable that I'm able to support my parents too. I want to give back to the world in some way, in it's duality, it is a terrible yet a lovely place at the same time. As a start, I want to do everything in my power for my parents because they deserve it.
this is such a beautiful album and they made so many beautiful songs, but they were no where near their prime...they were heading towards it and everything got cut short. i still cant believe theyre gone but im always going to cherish these songs
It still hurts. I found about them in September of last year, and their deaths shortly after. I hope someone carries on the legacy of their music, even half as great as they were.
Goosh I just wish more people could acknowledge them somehow, there's probably a problem in advertising them because this is SO good. Quality bops. And I just don't want these boys to, god forbid, quit on what they're doing. If you're reading this, Stephen and Audun, you are my favorite band so thank you so much for releasing such positive music. Much love♥♥
Hers were so unique which is what I loved about them... like I can't think of any other artists or bands who sound or are similar. Will forever miss these two
[Verse 1] How come you've hit that final chapter So young, your days of being free And I'm all for happy ever after Just be sure it's where you want to be [Chorus] Baby, if you know what's right You'll spend another year with Mama Next thing you know your life's being Taking it forever gone Why you wanna be like that? I'll love you till the end no matter Just don't leave yourself behind Please promise you won't be saying you should Please that you could be gone [Verse 2] I guess you're poised to take your chances You know it's harder to agree Just be sure that you know what the catch is There's no cure for failed hopes and dreams [Chorus] Baby, if you know what's right You'll spend another year with Mama Next thing you know your life's being Taking it forever gone Why you wanna be like that? I'll love you till the end no matter Just don't leave yourself behind Please promise me you won't be saying you should Please that you could be gone Baby, if you know what's right You'll spend another year with Mama Next thing you know your life's being Taking it forever gone Why you wanna be like that? I'll love you till the end no matter Just don't leave yourself behind Please promise me you won't miss home [Chorus] Baby, if you know what's right You'll spend another year with Mama Next thing you know your life's being Taking it forever gone Why you wanna be like that? I'll love you till the end no matter Just don't leave yourself behind Please promise me you won't be saying you should Please that you could be gone
You know that saying with like picking between your favorite __________ is like choosing your favorite kid? With Her's songs, it's not even an exaggeration, they're all just a vibe.
Share this music with your children and grand children. Don't let these lads be forgotten.
UndeniableLogic absolutely
I thought I'd never find music that I'd tell my kids ''I was there when this number came out'' like old people today, but it seems I will tell my children all about this band, Rest Easy Her's.
I promise
Absolutely that's my thought when I found out about them. Timeless music they made. Which is rare.
Yup. But i need to find a girl first :))

So well said....that's what git me is their guitar strumming, the beat is unusual, so sharp and melodious. RIP boys
the chords part is debatable
its just practice
@@abrahamalbarracin8739 He didn't say the chords were impossible to play, they're certainly unusual and complex chord shapes.
I agree huge ass
they were onto something so special.
Yes they were my friend😖
@@sambeast1979 condolences bro
CazierDude thanks man💙💙💐
They truly were. I absolutely adored their sound & was so excited to hear more until I searched them up and found out what happened to them. 😔 At least we have the music they already shared with us. RIP ❤️
couldn’t say any better besides the immense loss as a society and culture fuck man frr

I'm glad I had the privilege of being contemporary with these wonderful guys! Do not be sorry ... they're okay
They blessed us with their music and energy..😭❤️
Yes, this is life. One day we will be gone too. Get your eternity settled now.
This entire album is some of the most comforting music ever. This song's chorus just won't stop giving me good vibes.
I know, the chorus is pure ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Been listening to this and cool with you on repeat all day... RIP
One of my favorites from this album. RIP to a truly wonderful band with so much potential.

cant express how much it hurts listening to this now. they were on to something so incredible and it sucks and hurts so bad
Yeah, after I heard they died it just kind of ruined their music for me and I felt like crying but after a little it became easier.
@@illestoftherealest It didnt make it harder for me to listen, it just made it so much more intense. I love them so much

I've been listening to Hers for about 2 years and just last week I found they been dead the whole time. I was devastated to learn that. 😪

They surely would have became one of the greats.
Since this album was my Invitation to Her's, I can definitely say that this is my favourite Song of Her's.
One of the best albums of the decade
This song, Under Wraps, and She needs him haven't ever been the same since they passed, but really none of it has ever felt the same...
this is beautiful song
very reminiscent of "Take My Breath Away," classic bass line
The only thing getting me through a rough time. Miss you guys so much

What a fuckin track. The off center beat is extremely reminiscent of Polvo, Slint and other technical math rock bands. What an amazing cut. Great job.
thankyou for your music!!😭💗
[Verse 1]
How come you've hit that final chapter
So young, your days of being free
And I'm all for happy ever after
Just be sure it's where you want to be
[Chorus]
Baby, if you know what's right
You'll spend another year with Mama
Next thing you know your life's being
Taking it forever gone
Why you wanna be like that?
I'll love you till the end no matter
Just don't leave yourself behind
Please promise you won't be saying you should
Please that you could be gone
[Verse 2]
I guess you're poised to take your chances
You know it's harder to agree
Just be sure that you know what the catch is
There's no cure for failed hopes and dreams
[Chorus]
Baby, if you know what's right
You'll spend another year with Mama
Next thing you know your life's being
Taking it forever gone
Why you wanna be like that?
I'll love you till the end no matter
Just don't leave yourself behind
Please promise me you won't be saying you should
Please that you could be gone
Baby, if you know what's right
You'll spend another year with Mama
Next thing you know your life's being
Taking it forever gone
Why you wanna be like that?
I'll love you till the end no matter
Just don't leave yourself behind
Please promise me you won't miss home
[Chorus]
Baby, if you know what's right
You'll spend another year with Mama
Next thing you know your life's being
Taking it forever gone
Why you wanna be like that?
I'll love you till the end no matter
Just don't leave yourself behind
Please promise me you won't be saying you should
Please that you could be gone
