  • Written by Pete Anders and Vini Poncia. Arranged and produced by Joe Sherman.
The group’s follow up to their #73 charting “Mr. Lonely”. It didn’t chart and after a few more releases Pete and Vini headed off to West coast to work with Phil Spector. While there, they wrote “Do I Love You” and “The Best Part Of Breaking Up” for the Ronettes.
They returned to New York, put together a group called the Trade Winds and had a couple of his with “New York’s A Lonely Town” (1965 #32) and “Mind Excursion” (1966, #51). They formed another group while at Kama Sutra Records, the Innocence and charted with “There’s Got To Be A Word” and “Mairzy Doats”, both in 1967.
“Now That Summer Is Here” was revived by the Mystics in 1982.
Sadly we lost Pete Anders this week. R. I. P. Peter - and thanks for the music.
Pete Anders and Vini Poncia were both inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall Of Fame in 2012. More information about their careers can be found at:

This was a hit on WMCA in New York in late July,1960. Flip side "She`s Not Coming Home" is a beautiful ballad.

A much better record than "Mister Lonely" which charted for them in 1960, however, inexplicably this one didn't crack Billboard. A travesty!
