This recording was a one-off on the Chancellor label in 1963, but didn't get much promotion and failed to become a hit (it did hit Billboard's Bubbling Under chart at #121). The family group didn't have success until discovered by Teddy Randazzo and signed to the MGM label.
Then as now, having a good song is only half the battle (if even that) to making it to the charts... being on a minor label just around the time when the big companies were really beginning to consolidate power didn't help. They weren't counting on the psych boom but after it petered out it was a straight, if slow, shot to the almost completely controlled and inorganic music industry hellscape we have today.
A great and timeless song. And it still holds up today in 2022! I don't know why it wasn't a hit in 1963? Unless it didn't get enough airplay?!

Awesome !
I remember the former lead singer Sheri Ross was still performing in the 1990's. I wonder how she's doing today?
Timeless. To me they were more than a "One Hit Wonder"!
I want all of them
I agree, so do I!
This is a great song, but it might be a Blue Summer for me without songs like this around!
wonderful
Great song, but why wasn't it a hit!

Sheri Ross, the lead singer had a great voice!
If MGM Records had played their cards better, they would've had their version of The Supremes!
TOTALLY INTOXICATING!
