This song hits home. I was groomed and sexually abused as a child. I didn't even know what sex is at that time, but i was conditioned to like it. I'm now an adult and i've been wanting to sell my body for sex these days because i think it's the only thing i'm good at.
I know it sounds impossible. Why would sexual abuse victims want to reenact their abuse? this is why the lyrics say "you'll never understand" because it's indeed hard for people to understand, but this issue does exist. People have different reactions to abuse and trauma.

First of all, great song! I just feel bad that he's always compared to Michael Jackson, I'm sure he enjoys the compliment. But man, he's his own person, he should be able to make his own legacy without people comparing him. Know what I mean? I also think that this guys going to make it far in the Music Industry, but if for whatever reason he doesn't, he just "failed" all those people comparing and hoping him to be like Michael Jackson. Just my thoughts...

That's just how you personally take it. I personally can't think of how it could not be absolutely exciting and flattering. No human being will ever be able to make music like this without being compared to MJ, MJ made this genre and defined it. For him to be compared to MJ means he's made it. Of course he is welcome (and encouraged) to exceed what MJ gave us, but if he was never compared to MJ, that would mean his music (in this genre) would have to suck. Maybe one day people will be comparing someone new to MJ and The Weeknd, who knows.
