0:38 I use exactly this grid dot method. You are the first who I’ve seen doing this. Dots are lot cleaner than grid lines, but they require much more drawing experience. Your grid cells are not square, though, hmm. Your sketching skills are excellent.
Yes, I also realized that grid dots are easier to clean 😄 my grid cells are not square, but are divided into 4x4 or 8x8 ratios on both the ref image and the paper. Thank you so much for your kind words! 💖🙏🏻

How/what program are you using to get the grid points in the original, if it is a digital picture?
I am using the free version of “Grid#” app on my iPhone/iPad. I cropped the image according to the paper ratio first and then use this app. Thank you for asking and I hope this helps! 😊💕
Thankfully I have iPad, so I can load that app. I have had so many difficulties copying my models 😫😫😫

Yes, I use not only blending stumps, but paper towels, my fingers, whatever I can rub 😄 You can use oil pastels to blend too like burnishing in color pencils.
