  • Visit Bhutan in 2022 for gorgeous mountain landscapes and photography, Bhuddist culture and religion, delicious Bhutanese food like chili cheese and momos, hiking, Bhuddish temples, monasteries and zhongs, and the happiest people in the world!
Our trip included two awesome home stays and stops in Thimpu, Paro, Haa Valley & Punakha, where we learned why the penis is so important in local culture. There's even a penis temple!
We hiked the famous Tigers Nest, a monastery built right into the mountain and practiced archery like the locals. The best part was the homestays where we got a real taste of traditional Bhutanese life and awesome food. We took a hot stone bath, which has medicinal qualities and even picked our own fruits and vegetables and milked cows before breakfast.
In order to visit Bhutan, you need to hire a licensed local guide and I HIGHLY recommend LD Tshewang and Wangchuk Tashi . They can be reached on Instagram @Ld_kulabhutan @tashila_wangchuk

Bhutan is indeed a spiritually oriented nation or what I would call a near ideal society (something close to the old English hollywood movie Shangri-la of 1937) where the focus is on happiness and inner peace rather than materialism..Bhutan avoids the toxicity of western materialism while at the same time steering clear of violent fundamentalism of religions like radical islam..It negates western culture in that you need not be rich to be happy..Infact on the contrary being rich makes one more miserable and unhappy..

Bhutan, unfortunately is unique in this regard. Hope it stays this way!

@Phils_Guide I agree with you 💯 and hope bhutan stays that way..On the issue of it being unique, yes it is unfortunate that today decadent western materialism is the norm for much of the world..However people will at some point of time start getting fed up with toxic western materialism and religious fanaticism (like radical islam) and seek a deeper meaning to a superficial and ridiculous existence.. At that point of time Bhutan may serve as a beacon or a benchmark instead of western nations like USA which are symbols of toxic materialism, imperialism, violence and lust/greed for profits at the expense of other human beings..While unfortunately this culture of western materialism is the norm today, it having flimsy foundations will have to collapse sooner or later leading to the re-emergence of eastern spirituality and human values 🙏🙏
