I think proximal bids are the best way forward to much time spent going to auction and it's a level bid as in you don't get caught in the moment of auction battle bidding if you get clear photos of car do all your checks can't see the point of spending a whole day at auction
If I was to own a disco, it would have to be dark green, but it does look good with silver and black. They seem popular as camera cars for tv shows and a couple of car UA-camrs, youse them as camera cars. Looked great in the showroom. Great video and content as always ♥
Looks lovely that love the grey colour. Id personally go silver wheels but those look perfectly fine in black. Bought a goodun by the looks of it Joe. Hope it sells soon.
Nice car that, Joe 👍🏻 Think I am a fan of these more than the Range, I just prefer the practicality and luxury mix, and the big back window section just suits the size of these beasts better 👍🏻👍🏻
If you wasn’t in the car trade but you had heard about the disco 4 issues do you think you would take a 12k risk & buy one? I only ask because I’m looking at them & that’s the position I’m in at the moment. Keep up with the brilliant content 👍🏻
Joe, in answer to your question that you're not going to listen to the answer to 😂...........yes you can get a disco 4 manual. Quite rare but do exsist.
@ckm-mkc OUCH! I have owned over 25 vehicles in my driving lifetime. A majority of those vehicles have been brand new but when I was first started some of them were near the end of their useful lives and the only vehicle that I've ever had to replace an engine or transmission on was a Land Rover Freelander and I had to replace both the engine and rebuild the transmission!
Get what you are saying about the internet bidding but what if you get two internet bidders who both put strong bids you automatically get bid up straight away?
I thought it was a very appropriate advert for this audience. Showed me a product from a manufacturer I hadn’t seen before and demonstrated its use. Keep up the good work Joe 👍
Some of you clearly haven’t watched the video. There’s a 4 minute advert right in the middle that YT Premium makes no difference with and nothing to do with UA-cam and 100% the choice of Shifting Metal. It’s his choice but the OP was correct that that’s too much.
Quelle Surprise they took you almost up to your over book bid. Beyond me why you let them know beforehand how much you are prepared to pay and then sit there watching it instead of bidding.
Thank you @OBDeleven-Official for sponsoring this video! Use code "SM" to get 10% off at go.obdeleven.com/SM
Try lubricating the steering joint at the end of the steering column, known problem to cause iffy steering, cheap and easy to do.
I love the weekly And you are getting better as a presenter I can see you on TV soon.....
Wow, thanks! Crimewatch?! 😂

@13:10-on Tommy Autos channel LOVESSSSSS these!
Dave over at Lovely Car also uses proxy bidding.

Joe? what and a heat gun to fix the seat crease? Got x2 Zafira VXR Recaros to make into office/gaming seats that need sorting....
Should have let that tune play, sounded like the beginnings of an absolute banger. I was getting Egyptian house music vibes. 😂
😂
😂
Will look better with silver wheels ( personal taste obviously) looks nice car

A very sweet purchase and well nicked below proxy bid Max... Nice one and nice clean money. 👍

great colour , black bits go well with the met grey but shiny steering wheels turn my stomach😵
Given one of your latest posts how can you be sure if any of the 5 car purchases from BCA don't have low compression in the engines ?
I can't, that's the risk we take. But the ones I bought are of a value that it's worth repairing (to me)
Great video ,disco looks like a great buy.
Great video. Thanks for sharing
LR Discovery 4. V6. Three owners …….and four crankshafts
😂

I don’t believe it! 😂 Thanks for letting me know!
@@ShiftingMetal it's true but who cares! 😂👍
Brake error on an RS4...Joe..."Nah, we don't need to worry about that"😱😂
😂 who needs brakes
@@ShiftingMetal OBD should give you a special channel specific reader, called the OMG 11😂😂😂
Really enjoying your recent content and now prefer your channel to High Peak!
I appreciate that!
Another theory with proxy bidding… was it just you vs the fire extinguisher and the reserve was only £6500?? 😂😂
Well done Joe! Hopefully someone will have trouble free motoring and you make some dosh.
Shame you got to shift it as it looks right at home there in the showroom! Suppose on the flip side a 3 gran margin not to be sniffed at.
Doubt its tracking. Bottom arms regularly need replacing on these and bushes due to weight. Same on rangie
Question re the proxy bids: Can the auctioneer see the value of the proxy and bounce bids off the wall to raise the bidding to the proxy amount?
I'm not sure but that's what most of the comment section seem to think 😂
@@ShiftingMetal Yes, all auctions bounce bids from the back but only to the reserve. It's illegal for the house to bid things further.
Can you tell me Joe, do you think your tube videos are generating extra sales for you? Nice Disco btw.
Maybe 1/2 a month, not a huge amount but we do buy a fair few via UA-cam
'previous owner was a murderer'. Probably best not mention that in the sales ad 😊
😅
Love my 2015 Disco 4 absolutely ace machine,
True every model and manufacturer has their flaws but JLR products have more than their fair share!
I just had a new engine fitted to a 2017 F-Pace with 65k miles.....

Great video... London 1st June.
Nice one but why didn't you put a new MoT on it?
Still might do yet but no sense doing it now and then sitting on it for 2 months
@@ShiftingMetal Do they normally take about that long to sell?
Get what you are saying about the internet bidding but what if you get two internet bidders who both put strong bids you automatically get bid up straight away?
Don’t bid more than you want to spend and you can’t go too wrong
Nice one mate
Previous owner was a murderer 🤣🤣
Nice car but ludicrous road tax. £710 a year. Kills it dead for me.
I also only proxi. Akways feel takeh to my proxi tho
I think you touch lucky there with that one interesting
Big belts service due about 105k.
The Discovery looks really well.
Looks a good example I must say
They know what your proxy bids are so they will bid up to close to that. Not so sure proxy bids are what they seem.
The 2.7 was a Peugeot engine 3.0 is BMW
The point about proxy bidding is surely redundant, now that BCA is internet only. Nobody sees who's bidding.
It’s more that they are instantly outbid
@@ShiftingMetal gotcha.
hydro bushes have worn out or worse the arc bar is fooked
Why are these risky shitboxes 25-30K here in Germany?
A four minute sponsor advert? That's 20% of the total video and too long.
Yes, it's a complete and utter wash out.
None on youtube premium

I know someone who works at a dealership..lets just say those cars are bad news for your wallet.
Only a car dealer would be interested in a car that shits its own engine.
Bca will bid it up to your proxy bid
Maybe but plenty of times I've won well under my proxy
Is this an advert or blog
Neither technically mate

It works better for me. If I set a budget and bid manually it seems to go higher
