In fact the AK is way more simple, easy and cheap to produce, high tolerance values for its pieces when it comes about machining, there are still aks from the first generation produced back in 1947 operating on wars around the world with little to no maintenance at all and last but not less important, it doesn't have a failure button (A.K.A foward assist) becaus it doesn't need one, i've heard stories of people using ak's that have been on mud, dirt, sand and still cycling as nothing happened, to be honest as a engineer my self, i have to admit it, mr kalashnikov was a true genious, afterall he created the most used weapon in the history off all wars and conflicts since the invention of the firearms, doesn't surprise me that every single civil war, conflict, rebelion and so on since 1947 always have some aks, hell, even some american veterans from vietnã, iraq, afeganistan and so on admit the ak is more reliable and simple to maintain in the battlefield, wich i guess is the main reason why the ak or its variants are the weapon of choice for terrorists, druglords and etc. Edit: i highly suggest the "will it cycle" series on mr brandon herrera channel ua-cam.com/video/fg7PMShLeng/v-deo.html. Holy crap, I can't even begin to imagine the work that goes into this sort of animation. This is exquisitely done. I'm fascinated by the process of making this. I do some basic CAD work in fusion, but this looks like magic to me.
Great stuff!! Fantastic animation with a well thought out progression. I have had my semi-auto AK for many years, so I know how that works. It took me a bit to realize that you have the auto-sear in there too. I have had the full auto operation explained to me, but it was truly wonderful to SEE how it works!! Thank you so much. Снимаю шляпу, и даже не столько за красоту - за это однозначно 5+ - как за техническую составляющую, особенно по особенностям узла запирания, очень мало людей кто досконально понимает устройство и функционирование этого узла, обычно в 3D роликах все сводят к банальному повороту и не более, автор детально отработал вкладыш, затвор, раму, не забыв про такую "мелочь" как заходная спираль! Очень рад что на ютубе наконец-то появились профессиональные ролики и по исполнению и по содержанию. Молодец!

История создания этого автомата не менее впечатляющая чем само изделие. Его создал человек, который возвращался после демобилизации из-за ранения в Великой Отечественной Войне. Первые образцы делались в обычной сельской сельхозтехнике. Он приехал к матери домой на несколько лет позже, чтобы не упустить момент пока в его голове складывадась картинка будущего изделия.

Thank you for the correction in the video description, it is an AKM*. A different rifle than the AK-47 but not a difference for most people. They call every rifle AK47 even if it is an AK74!
By far the best mechanical simulation. As far as the action goes, it's very complex geometries to machine/mill and involving hot forged/heat treated components prior to assembly/riveting. Procedures that would have involved a long assembly line of hundreds of work stations manned by several hundred unskilled or semiskilled factory workers each trained in just one specialty. I would love to know how they cold hammer forged & chrome lined their barrels back in the '60's & '70's.

A fully in depth study of the AKM, with professional level instructional 3D animation. The depiction of the camming and friction surfaces between bolt lugs and the trunion lock up is the best I've seen. The only parts that are missing is the depiction of casing head spacing relation between bolt face, locking lugs/trunion/breech, and bullet//throat/freebore relation. Professionally done, congratulations, you have a skill. If you care to keep advancing your studies further, I recommend looking into chamber pressure peak curves, case wall behavior in and outside of the chamber walls, barrel harmonics, operational mechanism dynamics, and expressing all such data through 3d animation. If you will be able to express the full cycle through a correlation timeline, then you'll have a pick of what industry you want to explore.

Когда осознан сам процесс, то и понятен определяющий термин. Раньше обучали корневым осознанием процессов, а потом заменили на машинальное запоминание обозначающих терминов. Определять и обозначать это совсем не одно и то же. В стрелковой теме интересен путь от винтовки Мосина до СВД, и параллельно от СКС до АК. При осознании этого пути становиться очевидна роль СВТ, и почему она не состоялась. there s a small myth about this legendary weapon. mr kalashnikov didnt design it alone. there was a group of engineers helping him and borrow ideas from other competitive assault rifles within the borders of the ussr and not only. it s the perfect balance of taking the best elements of every weapon available for the time and equalise all these elements to the golden rule....simple, reliable, deadly caliber. of course in every golden rule you have to sacrifice something. all people say " he sacrificed accuracy" and of course it s not true once again. the sights are far away from the eye simply because during a battle the eye cannot be focused in short distances quickly. so he moved the rear sight to the front in order to make the shooter feel more comfortable and easier for him to adopt his sight quickier. it s not the best long range rifle since it has an intermediate shorter cartridge but it allows you to shoot the full automatic mode. it s not the most accurate bullet because it simply damages more if hit than being accurate. and finaly it s not the most ergonomic weapon because it simply chose to be reliable and simple
Hi. Excellent video. Since you've got this in CAD (CAD equivalent?), then would be nice to squeeze out a few more interesting details. Like: - Number parts with info on material used, weight - How manufactured (perhaps is on whatever drawings you used?)
Notice too the use of a braided steel wire for the trigger/hammer spring; simple solution but difficult to manufacture unless you have some automation in your facility - try making some simple springs on your lathe and you'll see.

i've been trying to figure out exactly how the extractor works, this helped a great deal.

there s a small myth about this legendary weapon. mr kalashnikov didnt design it alone. there was a group of engineers helping him and borrow ideas from other competitive assault rifles within the borders of the ussr and not only. it s the perfect balance of taking the best elements of every weapon available for the time and equalise all these elements to the golden rule....simple, reliable, deadly caliber. of course in every golden rule you have to sacrifice something. all people say " he sacrificed accuracy" and of course it s not true once again. the sights are far away from the eye simply because during a battle the eye cannot be focused in short distances quickly. so he moved the rear sight to the front in order to make the shooter feel more comfortable and easier for him to adopt his sight quickier. it s not the best long range rifle since it has an intermediate shorter cartridge but it allows you to shoot the full automatic mode. it s not the most accurate bullet because it simply damages more if hit than being accurate. and finaly it s not the most ergonomic weapon because it simply chose to be reliable and simple

Notice too the use of a braided steel wire for the trigger/hammer spring; simple solution but difficult to manufacture unless you have some automation in your facility - try making some simple springs on your lathe and you'll see.

Mostly c4d, 3ds max, substance painter, premiere pro, sometimes I use autodesk inventor and 3d coat
@@Weaponmechanics I can't afford that software except for maybe 3d Coat. I use Zbrush and Blender. Anyways, very impressive, and being that I recently purchased an AK47, really helpful. Thanks for posting.
