This is so awesome. My Dad is an extra in this shot. My Dad and Grandma know Jim Abrahams, because my Grandma actually lives in Eagle River, Wisconsin and Jim has a place on the lake there.
This is pretty accurate in a way. Being in the military you run across a lot of people who have been assigned to the same installations as you, hung out at the same places, know people that you know. When I was at Fort Stewart GA, the girlfriend of a guy in my unit was from my hometown in California and lived on a different street about a five minute walk from me. Turns out, I was a senior and she was a freshman at the same school. Also knew a Soldier who was in my battalion and lived on the same street that the girl lived on.
agreed. I was an officer cadet for years. we used to know each other via one or two others who were assigned with them before. you knew A from basic training, met B on the next assignment, then you meet C who already knows A, while B and C met elsewhere on some training course.
I had a client recently tell me they had visited Eagle River, and I had to use every ounce of willpower to not respond "EAGLE RIVER?!?"
I miss this type of comedy

It's like Star Wars - everyone is secretly related.
I'd like to thank you for this. A buddy of mine just took his family to Eagle River and I got to win the dad joke award today.
God, I lived in Eagle River for the 6 coldest months of my young life.
A loner? Nope. I own it.
