Can you tell me how to wire up a little light bar for my son? Got an 05 with a 6 pinCDI box. I just need to know what wire I can tap into with a fuseable link and a little red flip switch. Thanks man!
You'll need to get an A/C charging stator /with lighting coil .. has an extra " yellow " wire and voltage regulator for lighting power.
Try looking up RM stator ..or Ricky stator .. eBay and many online stores carry them .. around $100
Hey man great video but I’ve got a question I hope you can help me with. I have a 2011 trx 90 with some starting issues. The light on the key does not turn on to let me start the machine. The battery is charged and brand new with no issues. Also in the past I have been able to get the neutral light on but only if you turn on the kill switch and hold the starter button, but as soon as you turn off the kill switch the light goes out. The only way to start it is to bump start it which isn’t ideal. I would really appreciate the help.

I don't deal with E starts enough to be familiar with the simple wiring n switch issues that are common. I'm sure that plenty there are familiar with the exact scenario

Can I delete the Neutral switch I put a 5 wire magneto on my TRX90 and wanted to know if I need to have the neutral switch?
The only difference between the 2 electric systems ,is you have added a charging coil.. ground the neutral switch wire on the CDI side of the harness, to fool the CDI into thinking it's always in neutral.
I have a 98 Honda trx, pull start only back then.
It seems to want to die at idle, also doesn’t like to go fast enough to hit fourth gear. Kinda struggles in 3rd but 1st and 2nd no problem. haven’t cleaned carburetor yet but is there anything else I should look at?
Brand new air filter and clean air filter cabinet, oil change and new spark plugs, cleaned and greased chain.
Check the valves in the head..super easy.. 17mm and a 9 mm..pair of pliers..
Super common to be a little tight.
Factory setting is .005 on each.
I do .003 intake...,004-005 on exhaust.
Consider cleaning carb if it may need it. Be sure air filter is fresh and not over oiled..
The very biggest common problem you may have.. needs rings. Low compression.
I'd start with the basics ..and go from there
@@kwikfixer cleaned the carb, starts but revs to hell and back, runaway throttle, no tension on throttle, not sure how to put throttle back on carb correctly. But the SOB starts lol

Pull the slide back out...it's probably in 180 degrees backwards..
The side of slide with the wedge shaped notch at bottom should rest on idle screw..other side with slot cut from top to bottom goes on other side.
Be sure throttle cable isn't pulled out of the top cap and hanging out of the cap colllar

On my son’s 2019 TRX 90, the Neutral light won’t come on. We don’t no how to start it or test anything.
Plenty of info on Google and trx90 page on FB.
I'm not as familiar with the electric start 06+ wiring, but it's several different things that often cause that on them.
@@kwikfixer we found out today that a rat chewed wires under the seat! Got about 6 different wires to repair.
Is that coil just supposed to hang there ?
This quad was a cheap barn burner I found..it was not a complete runner. Coil bolts to frame under gas tank..with 8mm head bolt
How can I add a little more power ?
@@Ponchito47 the list goes on .. every change requires several other accommodating changes to equal a good reliable power addition.
I will try to make a video of the different stages of adding power , according to budget.. as this is the number one question in any power sport .

So do we just cut it where you were pointing at? and do I put tape or something on it? Do we cut it whenever the four-wheelers off ?what does it have to do with fourth gear?dose it have to be cut in a certain gear??

It's a signal wire that goes from the trans shift drum.. when in 4th , it grounds out at trans..sends the ground signal to cdi ..and it limits high rpm in 4th gear .. limiting speed in 4th only
.. cut it anywhere between motor n cdi .. or you can simply unhook the connection behind the flywheel cover .. as long as it never grounds out to cdi ,it's all the same

Where does engine ground go
If referring to the neutral ground switch.. ground it to anywhere on motor, a bolt ,etc..or simply run a jumper from the bolt that holds the ignition coil to frame.
Or the solid green wires for kill switch ground. There's a group of solid green ground wires , and one for each of the 2 kill switch wires.
@@kwikfixer I think I’ll just do that…. Make a jumper from engine bolt to coil.. I’ll double check my kill switch wire placement as well … I’m getting spark but engine isn’t firing.. seems like a wiring issue to me

I would ground the neutral switch wire , that comes from motor to cdi..
Ground green wire that goes to coil.
Possibly unplug the 2 kill wires ( black white stripe,and the ground is the accompanying green wire to each.
If no luck , you'll need an ohm meter to check pickup coil that reads flywheel , and the primary coil/stator , behind flywheel.
All tests can be done through the engine harness plug , with it unplugged from cdi harness
The pickup and stator are the most general causes , when wiring is correct otherwise
