Bugs Bunny Hip-Hop dancing for our girls - Six Flags Marineworld Fun! The person in the costume was a great dancer - and had fun entertaining the crowd!
Looney Jordan - It harder then it looks. I was him at Six Flags Great America. My Second Season back, on my first day in him (after being him many times the prior season), I tripped in his big feet, fell and got ridiculed by a guest. You have to be really fit to be the characters. You use up an insane amount of evergy dancing and walking long distances to the back where you're docked. Bugs was hard 'cuz you had to step really big, and more on the balls of your feet or you would trip if you steped where your toes are (which was mid Bug's Foot). Whoever is in the suit in this video is wayyy super trained and is making it look easy, but it it no where as easy as (s)he makes it look with the heat, lack of vision, big trippy feet, and exhaustion from a long work day of dancing and entertaining guests for minimum wage pay. I hope I meet the coyote, when I go to six flags in san antonio this summer! I don't know if they have shouka the killer whale, or merlin the dolphin, or odin the tiger. I shure hope they do :)
You can't. Six Flahs has a strict policy of destroying thrir suit pieces after they're out of commission. You'd have an easier time finding a Chuck E Cheese walkaround.... at $1,500 a crack...
Hi, guys. PairOfKoopas here to answer your questions. I've been 19 Characters before (16 at Six Flags & 3 for Chuck E Cheese's). Yes. One of them was the "Rascally Rabbit". Bugs is one of the luckier of the crew 'cuz he has holes in the inside of his suit to make it "breathe", however this merely helps so the heat doesn't get trapped inside the suit and make you sweat like a sauna (like Scooby, who was always drenched in sweat after dancing 30 minutes straight for "Dance Party" in July because the heat had no where to escape. I would know. I was him, too!). I was told when I was hired for the part as a Street Character that the suit heats up 20 degreees hotter then the outside temperature. So, if today was 81 degrees I would be cooking at a solid 101 degree Fahrenheit for that part of the day. (This would probably enter one of the phases where they give us an electrolyte drink and when it was too dangerous they would cut our walks from 30 minutes down to 15 with a 45 minute rest instead of 30).. As far as pay goes, I *WISH* I was paid $14 an hour! Boy! Then I would have *stayed* there! But, no... you get minimum wage... But, you start off with a training pay for your first season for so many days (I think it was like $7.75 or something low like that) then they move you up to $9 an hour when your training period is over. Characters also have the choice to become Scare Actors for Fright Fest which you can get a 50 cent increase to $9.50 an hour with a Green "Exceptional Service" Card. This pay increase is only for Fright Fest Season ONLY, however, and DOES NOT carry over to next season as a Street Character... which means you drop back down to getting paid $9 an hour your next season (again, this is Illinios wages, but it's still minimum wage for that state).
