no, they directly changed pc - server mechanics for riven's q but im not sure anymore how it worked and how it works now but before the vgu the more i became skilled with riven the more i started noticing that floating dmg would overlap both basic attack and q, so instead of 100dmg followed by 120dmg it would show 220dmg. before that change some other mechanics also worked against it, conqueror or w/e keystone it was that worked similiar, should give 3 stacks - 2 for a basic attack and 1 for skill but gave less when the damage overlapped and black cleaver would apply only one stack. something that was also common with zed's q+e but also spellshield would block both his skills. they later fixed those bugs in game so any advantage from vgu was lost.
