Despite the running problems it is still worth the money spent. I find that the only way to fix the problem you are having is to acquire a new set of drive wheels from Hornby, but it is a runner now regardless. You could try changing the drive wheels around, it sometimes gets a little better. One set or more of the drive wheels are not centered to the axel or they may be out of round.
