I love Jay just for the simple fact that he´s such an enthusiast that he'll actually go and look UNDER the car during the shooting of a show out of sheer interest in the cars that are brought to him. Nothing but respect for this man.
Just about any expensive sports car is owned by older drivers for 2 very simple reasons. Older people generally have a larger disposable income. Insurance for these type of cars is much cheaper past the age of 50.
Hi Jay...I'm a big fan. I had seen you Yellow C5 with the Tiger Shark body kit at C5 Birthday Bask in Bowling Green years ago. I don't thin I have ever seen you do a full review of that car and would love to see it.
Many years ago I had a friend that had an 89 Corvette. It looked and sounded completely stock. It would run 11 seconds in the quarter all day long. Not a big deal in 2013. Bank in the 90's it was a monster.

The only R ace I nspired C osmetic E nhancement I see on that Corvette was the rear wing.... Which I'm sure would actually help a 650+ hp Corvette at high speeds....... He painted the car flat black.... and added decals of ACTUAL PARTS on the car as a means of SPONSORSHIP, all that in a 650hp Vette........ Oh yea, but you must used to seeing Civics that LOOK like this and only have 140hp.... Way to go making a biased and COMPLETELY FALSE OPINIONIZED statement

The turbine converts the energy of the gas (pressure\velocity-temperature) in mechanical movement. Even if 2 or 3 meters of exhaust is not that long, you lost a lot of energy from the gas, just think about the energy drop caused by the temperature exchange between the iron tubes and the environment. Ok i'm sure that this engine will kick asses anyway but this is not the most efficient\sophisticated configuration for a turbocharger.I'm also sure that this guy doesn't care too much about fuel cons
It doesnt take that "long" for the exhaust gases to exit the tips without a turbo. The exhaust gases do not have to fill the piping there is air already within it. The turbo does not have to wait for the exhaust that just exited the cylinder to get to it.It will constantly be pushed along. And the advantages of the temperature decrease in the engine bay is a smart Idea. Just because it is closer to the engine bay does not mean it is more efficient.
Alot of people do that because of their sponsors.If a company offered you free stuff to put on your car,offered you a life-time warranty,let you know about all their new products and all you had to do is put the name of that company on your car,wouldn't you?I used to think the same way about stickers until i found out that most of those cars have sponsors.
I really like corvettes, but these are horrible! Black one looks like its.been painted in a garage with supermarket spray cans. The second is pretty hopeless, the Hood is horrible, looks like it came out of NFSU lol they would have been much better.stock. Watch the video again. Jay obviously knows STS. He's just never heard of the specific system of mounting the turbos in the rear and then having pipes rerunning it back to the front. Sounds kind of ass-backwards to me, and a good way of adding more turbo lag.
Hey have they changed the front end feel in the 08+ base models I drove a 08 z06 awesome car but anyways all the early ones I drove when just cruising the front end felt weird almost floaty dare I say.... Idk maybe it's just me input appreciated
Vettes were designed for downforce why would anybody put a wing on it. What are these guys trying to do fly to the moon? Despite the hp your pushing out I'd still rather have one of Jays stock vettes than either of these. Just saying.
I'm so glad to hear Jay say "Sounds good, not too loud". So many people put on super noise maker exhaust systems, which is the wrong approach. You want to hear the engine and the exhaust as if they are working in synergy, not hear some fart can out of the exhaust all the time.
Cause you lost a lot of energy from the exhaust gas! And there is also a lot of friction with a so long route. And also the throttle response will lost something cause of the big volume between exhast valves and turbos!
Sorry Jay, Mustangs have 2x the stuff for them compared to vettes. Mainly because... well they are shit sounding and looking, stock. Save for the newest body style. They finally got them low enough to be passable at a show.
Jay, you hear the wastegate sound when you are accelerating and on full turbo boost, not on throttle off, that "pshhh" sound is the Blow Off Valve letting trapped compressed air out after the throttle body snaps shut..
I don't understand the top comments. To many enthusiasts, all of the fun is working on the car after getting it. Adding parts to it lets you learn about the car more and you connect more with the car, like it's your baby haha
I like both these cars. I don't see what the problem is. Everyone has there taste. Some guys like spoilers, his was taste full and well installed. The black behind on the other car was also very nice. Both cars had upgraded brakes and suspensions. I don't see any problems with these cars at all.

The man who invented the rear mount turbos has a z06 thats siting on i belive over 1k HP. Things a beast. Those rear mount turbos make interesting exhaust notes to on some vehicles
You should research STS they are pretty neat set ups. Turbo lag isn't that big of deal with the smaller turbos/bigger displacement. I am actually thinking the set up for my C5 Z06.

Uh, stock ZR1's dyno about 510 RWHP, and they are $125K. LS2's and 3's are not safe with a stock lower end above about 550. In other words, learn WTH you are talking about.
A quick look on google suggests that he owned a pre-production prototype DeLorean in 1979 as well, so it's not unlikely that he has had the C5 that long. True story. ; )
