Song : "Rise Up" of Pat Metheny Unity Group.
Antonio Sanchez Bio:
“There’s no other brand I would rather be playing. Yamaha Drums are the only drums I can rely on 100% for any musical situation.
Besides great quality and sound, Yamaha Drums and hardware are the most user friendly. Yamaha Drums is like a big extended
family that makes you feel right at home.” - Antonio Sanchez
Three time Grammy Award winner Antonio Sanchez is considered by many critics and musicians alike as one of the most
prominent drummers of his generation.
Born in Mexico City on November 1st, 1971, he started playing drums at the age of 5 and began performing professionally early in
his teens.
He pursued a degree in classical piano at the National Conservatory in Mexico and in 1993 he moved to Boston to enroll at
Berklee College of Music and graduated Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Studies.
Since his move to New York City Antonio has become one of the most sought after drummers in the international jazz scene. He
has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz including Pat Metheny (He's a member of the Pat Metheny
Group and the Pat Metheny Trio with Christian McBride), Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden, Gary Burton and Toots
Thielmans.
He regularly collaborates with some of the most prominent names of the newer generation of Jazz: Joshua Redman, Chris Potter,
John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, David Sanchez, Paquito D'Rivera, Kenny Werner, Marcus Roberts, Avishai Cohen, Dee Dee
Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves, Miguel Zenon, Scott Colley, Dave Samuels, Luciana Souza, Billy Childs, and Claudia Acuña just to
name a few.
In 2007 he recorded his first solo effort entitled "Migration". The album includes a stellar cast of some of today's most renowned
jazz musicians: Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Chris Potter, David Sanchez and Scott Colley. It has gotten rave reviews from different
publications all over the world. "All About Jazz" calls it "One of the best debuts of 2007"
“I didn’t want people to say this is a drummer’s album,” Sanchez explains. “I wanted it to be something that could be from any
instrumentalist. I thought in terms of music, not how many solos I got and if I blew enough chops or not. I wanted the music to be
very melodic and accessible and with a lot of really good interplay. The new tunes that Chick and Pat wrote made it come together
nicely; they’re not my tunes but conceptually they’re in the same realm.”

The Master, and the most musical and creative drummer from this era.

El maestro Antonio Sanchez.
maistro
The amount of chill from these twelve minutes is incredible.
This is by far the best product demonstration video I've ever seen!
Antonio's touch is superb!! He's not reaching for that "hard knock" that this excellent instrument can produce if needed until the end of the tune!! Outstanding!!
This isn't a drummer. This is a magician! His playing sounds like magic! One of the best performances I've ever heard!
He just doesn't play drums, he plays music! He is so much WITH the tune! I think that there's also some brilliant mixing done! Thanks!
Pat Metheny once said he only hired drummers who could play piano. They can understand music from the inside. You can't play in the PMG if you are not a very good musician.
Hasta me causo emoción. Y conmoción. Arriba México !!!!
Monster drums, congratulations Antonio.
Epic tune and amazing performance.
Lightest strokes BIGGEST sound. Dude is a master of articulation. Impressed.
absolutely beautiful !
Absolutely lovely
Antonio is subtle, creative, seasoned and truly one of the very best. Check out the live masterclass vids, his youtube solo vids and concert stuff with Pat Metheny as well as his own band. Astonishing chops and taste, he makes me laugh he's so good.....
That tone....... Imagine every top notch vintage Ludwig, Gretsch, Rogers and Slingerland from the 40's through to the early 70's all combined to give you a hybrid of drum making perfection, and what you get is this.. But that price.. Way beyond my league.. Luckily for us working stiffs, Yamaha still makes great, slightly lower priced drums, like the Oak Custom and Club Custom.. ;)
wow, a beautiful kit,, astounding drummer
Fantastic! thanks Antonio
That guy played the drums!
Right away the Kit is beautiful..wow...and sounds great

Espectacular MAESTRO !!!!!!!!!
Brano stupendo,e Antonio è bravissimo,come sempre
This is my favorite drummer
Not everyone wants to make a carreer out of drumming. Especially if you still have not done it by the age of 63. I love my Yamaha drums.
que buena musica,saludosAntonio desde uruguay
class
Muito bom. Esse é o cara!
Awesome playing, awesome sounding drums - which is no surprise at all, because they’re YAMAHA. 👍🏻
I lo❤E you, Antonio
Talento Mexicano 🎵🎶🎶

Gracias por poner a México en el mapa maestro
los paises es un infantilismo, hay un planeta con seres humanos.
A güevo tenia que salir el pinche mediocre queriendo de una forma u otra sentirse orgulloso de los logros de otros.
@@madmex123 tu culo chamaquito pendejo
I hear more cymbals, and everything else rather than the drums.
The Drumfather a lot has to do with how they did the sound levels on the tracks, but you can still hear the drums if you listen closely :)
A lot of Metheny tracks tend to sound like that.
Glad Yamaha didn't ruin the mix by over focusing on the drums. Sounds great, which is why I keep listening to it.
It's called "music."
ostia que krack!!!
Yamahas and Zildjian for life xD I used to be a Remo dude until I discovered Evans. Only thing I wish he had on his kit haha. I would of loved to have heard that side snare but oh well. His use of dynamics, groove, subtitles, and control was just un real. What Zildjian crash and ride was he using? He reminded me a lot of Keith Carlock. And look at that... no double bass? =P Great video.
wdrumz completely agree with you man!
"Would of" doesn't exist. "Would've" is the right way.
Love Yamaha drums. i have a Stage Custom Standard kit from 2003 that sounds fantastic. this kit would sound great with better heads.
Great tune, with phenomenal and tasteful playing, absolutely perfect for the tune. But I still don't know what these DRUMS really sound like. And for the first time I almost got motion sickness watching a demo video.
I didn't know Ludacris can play drums...!
nice track!!! Great drums and drummer!! what's the name of the song
´Rise Up´ - Pat Metheny Unity Group... =)
Hey it'd be a huge help if some people told me what instrument are in this besides drums!! thanks!!!
The camera keeps going around the kit. I wish it had kept still.
The miking technique could have highlighted the sound of the drums a little better. I hear more cymbals than that natural yamaha drum sound.
may I inquire as to the sizes of this kit in particular?

Bearly hear yamaha
But I hear a ton of Zildjian.
stunning just the same.
Antonio could make music out of TKO drums and Camber cymbals.
I know a guy who did a 10 sec promo for absolute vodka. paid 8k... these promos pay really well.
Ludacris a beast drummer
So is this the original drum track from the album, with a slightly louder mix of the drums? Or is he superimposing over what's already recorded (possible omitting the original drum track from the mix)?
Yea superimposing and omitted the drum track for play along purposes. Kits killer right.
Anybody know the dimensions of this kit? is it a 20 x16 or 22 16?
20 x16
How big is the kick?
Manuel Di Geronimo 20 x 16. Mine is 22 x 18 and is so load ! I love it. Same model; same colour. I watch this video and dream it’s me playing !
IMO Yamaha and sonor produce the best sounding drums. This kit rivals the phx in sound and they're a lot cheaper.
+Larry Tate my exact thoughts :D
+Buutch37 Antonio is on fire with this number!
Yeah, i'm sure if he would have played another brand it would have sounded just horrible! HA!
Yamaha make the best drums and hardware. But they can get very loud. Even my first kit from 1977 can be heard 2 blocks away. So, I've been trying quieter kits from others for a practice kit and they don't come close. Pearl, the stand tubes crush from clamps and the memory locks need a hammer to move them. Mapex bass drum couldn't stay in tune so I kept breaking the head. Marshall's Natal are too drunk to put the right matching drums in a box and the kick spurs extend beyond the from so they lift the drum up when you change a head. Their customer support is useless. PDP was shells and some parts and heads half on just tossed in a box. Gibraltar apparently doesn't believe in hardening or heat treating their fasteners.... My Yamaha Absolute Maple, Yamaha Rock Tour, and even my old 1977 Stage were and still are perfect.
Is this a spotlight on drums? 'Cause it's pretty inferior in the mix
Samsgarden that's what I thought as well. I thought what a shame that the great drumming is somewhat washed out in the mix
