I'm ashamed to say that I'm hearing this song for the first time. I'm a lifelong musician singer songwriter performer that's been out of the saddle for a while and just last week lost a dear friend that was the guitar player in the bands I've been in all this time and now I am left to carry the torch the rest of the way I'm pissed off I'm angry I've had a nervous breakdown and I'm homeless but I'm going back to the stage back to the studio I'm on my way and I will not be the last in line. Thank you Shinedown kudos to you
Shinedown is therapy. For the soul. They speak sing what we feel. And the music guitar drums etc relieve tension. That's my opinion. Close your eyes and listen.

Im with you, 47 year old grandmother here. I cant believe I just discovered Shinedown a year or two ago. Mainstream music was mostly crap for a long time, so I retreated back to the music of the 80's. So glad bands like Shinedown and FFDP are now rockin the world again.
I've loved Shinedown since before Leave a Whisper was even released, and Fly from the Inside will always be my favorite song, no matter what. But this song and video is so beautiful. It completely shows not only why I love them so much and why I'm so happy and proud of all their success. But, it also shows why I just want to be around them, keep them tucked away nicely in my pocket, and not have to share them with the rest of the world. But, since I can't do those things, I hope the world realizes how truly wonderful and special Brent, Barry, Zach, and Eric are, and give them the support they deserve.
This song hits all my feels at once. Just hearing the first note makes me cry. I’m a 52 year old man and this song makes me blubber every single time. The lyrics told my life story and the music illustrated my pain. It’s beautiful and horrible at the same time. Wonderful. Simply wonderful. I wish I could shake the hands of all the band members and let them know how powerful and beautiful this song is. On a side note, I think the perfect complement to this song is another Shinedown song, Amaryllis. If this song is the pain, Amaryllis is the healing.
Love Shinedown!!! I can relate to their music!! I listen to them everyday!! I want to see them live soo bad!! Their music has helped me through some VERY difficult times & sometimes when I have one of those days, I put my headphones on, put on some Shinedown playlist, crank it up, & rock out!!

I am from Jacksonville, FL where Shinedown was formed and have been a fan of their music before there first record Leave A Whisper was released. While they were recording demos before Atlantic gave them the green light they would play the demos for songs and sometimes perform live on a local radio station called Planet Rock and that's how I discovered them and have been a huge fan since.
This song is so true. "You know there ain't no coming back when you're still carrying the past." Regret was my life until I broke inside. Reclaiming what I had prior to my mistake has taken awhile but regret still haunts me. It is the BEST motivator never to fall back.
I really think this video (along with most of their videos) shows the true unity of those 4 guys. You can tell their all like family. And that, for a band, can be rare. But it's what makes them so amazing. Their songs are unbelievable, so are their videos, and i saw them live once and they did great. Definitely my number one favorite band. Shinedown all the way!
Maybe one of the best decisions they have made was getting rid of Jasin Todd. Brent had to get clean and don't think he could have with Jasin there. And Zach can really jam. Hopefully these 4 will stay together the rest of their careers. Great band dynamic. Hope to hear them rockin for many more decades.

Funny how many times during life this song is applicable. The big thing to learn is give yourself enough time to deal with the mess you were left with after the last time. Once those demons are conquered, you can open up for another round. Hope you find happiness
