As a microscopist and an artists, this is marvelous.

I wish you had shown a closer look of the brain data from the thumbnail. So amazing as a real-world object! 😍

Check steven keating's video, he printed his brain tumer as well as head skeleton.

So in other words, the medical industry has found a way to make 3D printing much more expensive.

Entertainment industry was already using voxel printing for quite a while before that, just saying.

Oh shit. I'm really excited for the artistic applications of this

SECONDQUEST unfortunately I don't see this happening anytime soon, it uses a strasys objet inkjet resin 3d printer, these cost multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars a unit and I don't even want to go into the cost of the resin.

This should be at least 4k resolution.

some stuff that can not be understood by a person who is unfamiliar with expert knowledge can really get it this way. you could decide which orthopedic repair to choose on your own back, your choice that you can never undue. everybody could get their hands on something before we decide not just the few who would otherwise be able to see it. with more people really understanding anything someone becomes the innovator. now that we can 3d create we need this to 3d understand.

This is beautiful. I wonder what the average cost is. I have so many things I would want to print.

Stratasys had a PolyJet tech that is suitable for printing things like this, just like HP with their new-ish Jet Fusion. Should be easy to get a quote by contacting them directly, although it might not be the best 3D printing technique your all needs.

I am in 3d printing and looking to print for the medical and science industries, but not sure where to start in making the leap into those realms. I am a familiar user with most of the top commercial 3D softwares. Does anyone out in the interweb happen to know how/where to link me with people who would like to abuse my services? :) TIA

I have printed my own brain from a brain scan. I have a cyst the size of a hens egg. There were several types of software involved in the process.

Just think, if you could 3D print your entire skeleton. How amazing that'd be.

One day? How about tomorrow. What can be done with 1000 steps on a computer today can be a button click tomorrow.

Why are you talking shit about flat screens if that's LITERALLY the only way data can be displayed? You edited this video on a flat screen, your viewers are watching this on a flat screen, medical professionals use flat screens to gather data... So you're saying you'd rather use a CRT? or any sort of display before the year 2000?
