Awesome I would love to see more artist start doing it. Try as far as possible to use only the bones with the highest density .Best is to after bones were boiled clean just chuck it on a roof and let it bleach there for a year. Also it helps a lot to to crush the bones when wet as they get finer easier.
Hi Damien, very interesting video. I've had some good results purifying linseed oil but not to the high standard that you have gone to but found your methods helpful. I once left a jar of my own purified oil in my shed by the window and forgot about it for two years. It had thickened and turned a nice very clear medium with hardly a trace of yellow and turned out to be the best I'd ever made! Thanks for your blog.
hello, I tried this and the bone ended up very white and kind of hard. Any idea what I did wrong. Also , do you think I could make "bone white" out of it?
Small channel. Have a like, subscribe, and comment. I've been painting hobby miniatures with acrylic (Warhammer, etc.) and have recently been learning about pigment. Your video was suggested, as I've been looking into ivory black, thanks to MarcoNJM's Zorn limited pallet videos. I hope your channel grows. This is good information.
Ah thanks a lot. Yeah, I'm getting there slowly. Still needs major improvements, but it's more about the content than trying to be popular. Thanks again. Hope you have a rad 2022!
great vide. I'm curious if you knew bone black during the "incineration" of cow bone creates its own binding agent called Dippels Oil. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dippel%27s_oil was founded by Johann Konrad Dippel. Whats your thoughts on that process?

I’ve always wanted to try it. Maybe when I get my own place and can build a fire.

Saludos Maestro yo desde Honduras le escribo no se inglés pero interesante el proceso que hace en sus vídeos convirtiendo los pigmentos caseros a Oil
I could watch paint mixing all day! I love the sound, it makes!
Great video and channel 👍
Great work. Thanks for sharing.
how long would you say it took for you to make Bone Black paint? From start to finish. How many days or hours?
When I charcoalize bones they don't turn out as black as yours. I wonder why? Do you use distilled water to remove any salts present in the bones?
Beautiful.
Nice video

Woah... ok, centrifuges ARE valuable! So are fine micrometer grinders... Aaaand dehydrators...
How you get this bone ?
He said his wife had been saving them. It’s from their dinner scraps.
remember the neighbor that got missing?
Hi Damian. Are you on any social platform?
I just buy the bone black pigment powder locally for $5 then mix linseed and some spirits
Where is the fun in that?
Interesting very good. Music was nice but a tad loud at times sorry. Old person syndrome lol

I did not know that! Interesting!
