since timbre comes from the shape of the waveform, if you were able to put the sample rate up ridiculously high and input equations based on the wave forms of certain instruments, could you theoretically have a desmos that could play songs in different instruments?
@@RannyBergamotte you have to add partials that play over the notes. The prominence of respective partials is what gives sound its timbre. Partials follow the harmonic series from a root if the instrument is harmonic(eg pipe organ), and dont follow it very closely if the instrument is inharmonic/noisy(eg drums).
pretty interesting video and very entertaining to watch! I would turn down the music a bit cause at least in my pc your voice is very difficult to hear with all that music in the background
