Here's a video about the tools I personally use, and what a lot of people are asking me about:
What tools do beginners need for spooncarving? Well, that's not that complicated to be honest :)
A carving knife, a spoonknife, an axe and a saw.. And some good straight wood, without any knots. That's a good start!

Hey Laci!
Sorry for the late reply. Did you get the NW tool?

No not yet, still on the waiting list, haven't got any update yet :(
Same! 🔥😅
Thanks for a great video
Thank you for for a detailed story. I can’t buy any tools by Hans Karlsson. I have been waiting for 2 years. It’s my big dream. How did you buy their tools? share a secret please, because sometimes it seems to me that it is simply impossible to buy their products :(
New subscriber here. Really like your videos that I have seen so far. I don't carve but have a fasination with carving spoons and bowls... ect. I will be asking lots of question, I hope I don't drive you crazy. LOL. Do you carve green wood or seasoned dry wood? My first question. Thanks and please keep them videos coming.
How do you sharpen your wildlife hatchet? I have a hand hatchet, which has the same head, and decided to give it more of a bevel to help guide my cuts, and I had minor edge damage(chopping through locust) that was easily fixable but I'd prefer not to have to do in the future.
Do you happen to know what's the use of Two Cherries 3353 knife?
Can you tell me, again, who makes the folding saws you use? I don't see the name in your description. Thanks!
Oh, sure! I’ll fix that right away, thanks 🙂💪🏻
It’s a Silky. Best there is!
@@formgjortbyJonasAls Wow! You are fast! Typically, I don't get a response back for a week. Thanks, again, for the info, and I love your videos. No annoying background music, just the relaxing sounds of wood being shaped. Keep up the good work.
Hehe, you’re welcome. I’m sitting with my MacBook and editing the last things on my newly uploaded video. And, sometimes I’m super guilty in that.. but I try to do my best. Full time business means I got tonnes of work 😅
@@formgjortbyJonasAls Understood. I'm sitting here with a Lenovo Laptop. Take care.
Hej Jonas!
I’m looking for a new carving axe and was wondering if you have tried the Liam Hoffman craft carver and could comment on how it compares to the Kalthoff?
Hey Daniel! :)
I haven’t tried Hoffman’s, but my favourites is Julia Kalthoff and Hans Karlsson. Next video will be some spooncarving with the HK axe.
Do you make a living doing sloyd?
Hello Elisabet
Yes, I started full-time this summer. It’s getting better and better, but slow. We can just make it right no, hehe. With 4 kids and my fiancé studying there’s not a lot. But we can manage.
The beginning of 2020 starts out really really good and busy. I’m going to make plates and spoons for a one star and another two star Michelin restaurant + spoons and bowls for the danish culinary team. Can’t complain at all! :)
