Looks like she's in foal
Name her Payday...like the candy bar.
She’ll become a phenomenal mare in no time with your help.
She’s got a kind spirit. I love her.❤
@@petrahartog5934 😊
I like the name "Skittles."
Yes… but… does she taste like a rainbow? 🤔
@@darkwinter6028 she definitely has a colorful personality
Name her Payday!
Skittles is perfect.
It kinda fits, especially at this stage.
I like the calm and clear way you train. You are proof that roughness isn’t necessary.
Roughness is a faster way to break a horse, but concise training and build trust with a the animal is way more effective, but takes longer.
@Roughness is not conducive to getting a safe horse.
Firmness is better
I don't own horses, and I never will... but I LOVE your channel. You truly have a gift. Fascinating stuff!
Ryan trains a young horse for a great future....that is priceless!
Thank you 🙏
She is very lucky to have you as her trainer. Your patience and kindness is what every horse deserves. Thank you for sharing your videos
.
Love your videos, I also follow a guy in Wales Steve Young he has the natural horsemanship that you have.He spent a few years in the US learning the craft,he rides western style,he has a lovely way with his horses. Me well always loved horses mom didn’t would have loved more than anything to have a career with horses nothing makes me happier than being round horses, envy people like you and Steve who have made their life with horses a career. Keep up the good work you do. Lovely young filly, like the name Skittles.
I love watching her changes. The art of a horseman that knows what the horse needs!! I do like this mare. Hand grazing is a nice way to give her a reward! “ What’s in it for me?” 😆
Skittles is a great name. I really like the name Flame for a red mare--comes from a book I read as a kid--but that's probably asking for trouble! Thank you for showing us how you work with a reactive horse. I have one myself, and it's taken a lot of patience for her to come around, but it was totally worth it!
I love your username its awesome!
Looks like the consensus is, "Skittles" is fine! My first reaction too. Skittles are also sweet and multi-colored, and filly has pedigree and agility for multi-talents. So there!
Stick with Skittles!
At the end her face looked different. So relaxed. Nice job. 😊
Thanks
She’s definitely a lot more trusting
Love your calm presence and perspective! Skittles is very fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from you.
Hi Ryan. I am thrilled with where she’s at. She has soo much trust in you. She will never know how blessed she is to belong to you. Good hands! Well I would call her Leyla ❤ she so pretty. Thank you for all you do. Your a good guy.
Thanks!
She's a cute little filly. Seems to be understanding and accepting the ideas you are giving her.
Skittles is trying so hard and I am glad she has a happy home with you. Hope you keep posting videos on her progress.
She seems lovely. I’m a 64 year old grandmother and it would take me a lot of practice not to flinch when I see an object coming toward me ❤️
Skittles is too cute!! I LOLed when she tried to lay down on the ball 😅. I learn so much every video, ty!!
😃👍
With relatively little time and effort such a tremendous progress. Another RR W O W film.
😃👍
The ball flop was funny! 😂
She loves chasing the ball now
Ryan where do you get the inflatable ball toy? I think my mare might benefit from one.
Wow! She is challenging. Great work- super interesting. Pretty mare-
Skittles is the perfect name for her. You have done an amazing job with this filly that was so let down by her breeder/former owners. I think she too will make a great horse under your training. She's come a long way in a short time. I feel I was really blessed raising my 3 foals from birth till death that they were never reactive or explosive. It all comes down to the handling and teaching. Keep up the good work. I guess I was really their leader and they trusted me. Lost my last horse at age 25 last November. My horses were pig , semi, hiway, farm equipment, vehicle, train proof. I am afraid I will never have that again now that I am older - closer to 70 than 17 !
This was one of the most inspirational videos I've ever seen. Well done Skittles and Ryan!
Love the name. It's cute but also a nod to her early days :)
Also yay for more with this filly. I really would love an ongoing series with her to see the progress over time.
Wow, you’ve come so far with her! And Look, getting a foot trim! Woo hoo!
Wow, Just wow. You've done a helluva job with that girl. Nice.
skittles is doing much better, especially like when she played with the ball. i enjoy your videos, don't have horses anymore and wish you were around when i did.
What a lovely pony, definitely a thinker. She could easily have been on the scrapheap, congrats
Love the name! Please don't change it 😊🙏🐴
She is also very young. I’m quite amazed that people ride very young horses whose bones havent even set. Because she is so young she reminds me of young people who just need time to use their reasoning which for a horse whose neocortex is nowhere near our size, this is hard for her. Mr rose is doing really well but she may just have needed a slower process. Some are more confident and also some are not so intelligent. I also think that doing things they like and becoming their friend like taking them for walks, foraging as you go, and showing them things and…laughing , that really helps.
Surely they aren’t riding her. You are right, she is way too young.
Ryan knows horses as does his wife. I guarantee they won't ride her until she and her body are ready.
Thank you for sharing the videos of training Skittles. I don’t have horses yet, but I watch and replay your videos, they are helpful. I love how patient and calm you stay with each horse and you share that each horse is different, an individual, which they are! You take some of the mystery out of horse behavior. I find all the training and help you give people fascinating ! 😲🤔❤️
😃👍
You’re one of the most reasonable trainers I’ve seen.
Thanks
Smart, smart, smart.. she'll be a good one.
Definitely
REMARKABLE! As someone that has never been around horses, I'm astonished at what you achieved in such a short space of time.
You and Skittles really did a nice job of working together so she can have a good life. It was really interesting to see her make such progress in trusting a human!
I really am applying this stuff to my teenage daughter!!! Thank you Ryan, I love you 😘💕 😊
A really beautiful video! My 3 year old grandson got so excited at the end of the video, I had "Bye Hoss!" shouted in my ear.
She is adorable. I would love to follow her progress.
your channel should be so much bigger! Great content!
Thanks!
Skittles is her colorful energy, personality.
That progress was amazing. You have a real understanding of the equine brain. She's gonna be real nice. A horse like her may not turn out well in the wrong hands.
I think the name suits her very well 😁😍
Skittles is a great name :)
Oh I love skittles she wonderful and so pretty. You are amazing Ryan. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️Granny B
Bless her heart, she's a lovely little miss! ❤
❤
She's a lovely little girl, I think she'll be a lovely mare!!!
Love her name Skittles ❤️
She's good looking and settling down nicely.
Really good video👍
Skittles because she's skittish. Her reaction to the ball was amusing. Love seeing the progress.
I notice how everyone likes Skittles as her name because she appears to be skittish. I actually think she is going to mature into a confidant horse. What the skittish behaviour right now is telling us is that she has either not been handled or has been mishandled up to this point. She is learning what competent handling & training feels like & it seems as if she likes what is happening. I would not name her Skittles because I believe there is a speciic energy attached to a name. Since I would not want her to become a horse who is skittish for the rest of her life I would choose a name that allows her to leave the skittishness behind once she is no longer feeling as if she has to constantly be so defended.
@@sherrieshatzen3801 That may not have been Ryan's reason for naming her that, it was only my interpretation.
Yeah. And most nicknames/ names are from you as a kid. Doesn’t define what you become.
Boy your right it's hard work. Love every time I go out there. From turning over the tackle box to shredding blankets.
I love the name skittles
WOW! she has come so fare😱 great job!
Very interesting video.Super reactive but also left brain.Big difference in her attitude, willingness to try after you worked on the leadership. I really took to this filly, maybe because most of the young horses i've had in my life have been pretty Left brain and quite opinionated. I think I have learned more from theLBs as I have had to be a lot more creative and have a sense of humour and no ego!!! Do make some more vids with Skittles! We love her!
This is so good! Ryan you have really been blessed with a unique ability! So interesting with her seeming so spooky but being left brained. That tarp and ball really proved it to me. Not spooked a bit. Very enlightening the difference between “I can’t” and “ I want”. You sure are touching alot horses by teaching all us horse owners these subtle things!!
What a brave little horse. I bet you she would fit right in to the police force. She has the right mind and bravery. Not saying she should, just would. She has the best leader. Thank you for sharing, this was really great to watch!
Oh I just loved the flop onto the ball. Well done skittles (and obviously Ryan 😄). Great video 👍🇩🇰
I don't have a horse but I'm hooked on watching you teach humans and horses. I am a teacher by trade so I can appreciate your style. ❤
Great job, thanks for sharing!!
Can't wait to see this girl your saddle in a few years. She is going to be SO cool for you! She reminds me quite a bit of my mare who also appears to be left brained but with BIG no reactions related to her past. This filly and my girl are probably one person horses. You've been chosen!
I like the way you're working with a horse. I was but now retired manager of a large horse farm in central Florida where at one time I had about 50 horses to take care of. All were quarter horses out of good stock most were broodmares so I was in charge of breeding, feeding, grooming, health and when spring babies dropped taking them up to selling them after reaching their two year old point ready to ride and see what they were good at. Most of the training was geared toward western pleasure because these horses were out of that lines. Most were quarter paint mix double registered. So I was using much of what Ryan is doing to make gentle 3 beat western pleasure horses.out of them. So training was exactly what Ryan is doing but I had the advantage of working with them from the time they foal up to two and three year olds. Lot of work but I loved working with horses and training riders. Keep up the good work Ryan I think you're methods show you have a natural understanding of how a horse thinks since we are predators and horse are prey animals building trust is the key.
She‘s going to be a star for someone who gets her on their side. She‘s one of those that needs to be convinced of who is the leader - and you cannot lie to her!
She has a softer look in her face and eyes now. I love the progress with her feet. Definitely a smart girl. You can also see that she’s moving her ears while you’re talking. ❤️
Amazing! Just love this, Ryan!!
Thank you
Skittles is super cute.
Right!?
Cute would love to have her.
Skittles became very comfortable and friendly with you after her training sessions.
I’m sure you hear this a lot, but you are a truly incredible trainer. Thanks for the video!
Sorry for 2 comments:
She profiles nicely!
Also, I think she'll be a powerhouse.❤
My son rode a Gunsmoke mare. Super fast, intelligent, and instinctive. You would think she was spooky til you rode her. She had team penning points. She reminds me of her (her name was Razz if you'd like to borrow her name❤) Here's what is interesting: child horse deluxe!
Sadly, she passed at age 30❤ Grand daughter of Mr. Gunsmoke.
Love watching her progress. This is a HUGE help for me with my young horse. I'm finally making some progress after watching these videos on untrained horses. I realise it's me that needs to learn how to train him more than him learning at his stage. But anyway, we're finally getting somewhere, thanks Ryan.
Wow! She’s come a long ways from the beginning!
Skittles fits her to a T! Love the way you train & reprogram when necessary. Keep up the good work!
You are an amazing horseman. Thank u for sharing your knowledge.
She going to be a good horse when you get done with her .Your Doing a great job 👍 of training her I'm an old timer an training a lot of horses and mules
Good Job 👍👍👍
Your amazing! I never ever get tired of watching u work with horses! Your a very gifted man!
Brilliant Ryan, Skittles is lucky to have found you, or her story might have been something altogether different.
She's doing great!
She has soo much character - amazing journey she is on. I wish I could get back into riding - you inspire so much.🐴
Thank you Ryan for talking about the Left Brain and Right brain - - I always need reminders . . . Gratefully Val in CO
You're a great teacher, Ryan. Name suggestion: Ember
Love the name Skittles. My daughter has a dwarf hamster named Skittle! 😂
Yes , she a thinker......she beautiful !
Definitely
@@ryanrosehorsemanship teaching her Trust without breaking her Spirit.....that's what a true Leader does , nice job !
I love this one!!! Watching that little girl go from terrified to curious and mostly trusting you was wonderful! I want to find the first Skittles video.
Crazy progress!!
I think she's a lovely horse, underneath her greenness. I can't wait to see her in the future.
Another great video ! Perfect example of working with a horse "where they are." Too many of us have a goal but try to quickly jump straight to the goal instead of taking patient steps toward the goal.
I find the little subtle things more educational. I wish you had shown every single step. I learn more from the difficult horse that takes much longer than the easy one. But I am kind of a waste, I'm almost 70 and wont have a horse again I'm about two steps from the nursing home. But I adore watching and learning, you and stever young are incredible. I ranched and had horses much of my life and I am ashamed at how stupid I was with my beloved Quarter horse, Silky Barr Miss, who was so kind and considerate of my ignorance.
Anyway thank you so much for sharing so much of your knowledge with an old lady like me.
What a great video!! So glad she's with somebody really talented, she sure could have turned out alot different. I love the name "Skittles", looking forward to her progress!
I don't normally comment on your videos, but it's been a delight to see how you gained the trust and confidence of this youngster to learn, and enjoy learning, what she needs to know, as in other cruel hands I could see how this lovely intelligent baby could have been ruined for life by abusive 'training', taught to be confused and with her intelligence always fear humans.. leading her to have a life of rejection that ended on a truck to slaughter and at a young age.
So many babies must be suffering that fate.
I love watching these videos. I learn many things that help me and my horses!!
Hey Ryan, thanks to your videos, today I managed to introduce a hose pipe with running water to a young pony in a way that we understood one another. We used it to soothe some swollen areas on his leg where he's been cut. He handled it so well that he was drifting off to sleep in the second session. Thank you for these videos and all that you share with us.
Awesome
I appreciate your communication with the rope and your explanation of right brain vs left brain... thank you..
Those were great videos with skittles Ryan. It's not everytime we get you working a horse and just talking to the camera. Normally you're juggling breaking things down to the client, then to the camera for us and going through your motions.
These sessions really helped at allowing to see your body position, body language and movements especially on pressure and release, up close. As well as tricks and tactics for leg and foot handling with a personality like Skittles.
As usual, great content. Appreciate all you do🤜🤛
Skittles is a good name, she has a colorfull personality, and she’s all over the place, like if you drop a bunch of skittles
I'll probably never ride a horse again due to spinal issues, but for some reason I find these videos fascinating, probably because training a horse is so different from training other animals. It seems a healthy dose of negative reinforcement (removing something negative) is needed to make horses truly comfortable with humans. It seems counterintuitive. Maybe that's why some people label horses as stupid. It's not the horses' fault when humans can't figure out to communicate effectively.
I think I'm finally beginning to understand these beautiful creatures. Too bad I'll probably never ride again. This info would have been very welcome when I was young!
Love the name ! You've given us a story to follow. I hope the channel gets more exposure, subs and more likes
This video was great to see how she was ready to pick up her feet after you used the ropes. She really is a neat little filly.
8:18 😍 She's gorgeous, and I love the name Skittles. It definitely suits her since she is so skittish.
EDIT: By the way, will there by any chance be any more about Willow? I watched Parts 1 and 2, but never saw more. Would love to see how that beautiful girl is doing now. Thank you for sharing these wonderful videos. I enjoy them so much!
Skittles is perfect. She has a colorful personality ❤
Love the name Skittles! It’s adorable and so is she!
That was a great watch. Thanks Ryan 👏👏👏
Great job with her, Ryan! She is turning into a really nice horse. She is extremely lucky to have you as her owner ❤️
I love the name Skittles! It’s cute and fitting for her skittish nature!
I love watching you work with the most difficult cases
Bravo! Wonderful filly and she's in such good hands. Great work, Ryan...as usual! She is definitely going to be fun to work with. She's going to be stunning and wow, is she quick! Skittles is a cute name but I suspect she won't be that skittish for long just super alert and did I mention quick? It will be fun to watch her progress. Thanks for sharing.
