    Hi we are on our second year here teaching in jahra and living in Hawally. It is kinda boring here but at least there's the holiday in/ pool, church fellowship, and good eats.at.the Marina mall. Sauna this.morning . Cheers

    • @hayayess8190
      @hayayess8190 6 років тому

      Jahra is really far from Hawally!! I would recommend you to try find a apartment in jahra. There’s a lot of activities for low costs like you can get a 30 min bout ride for 1kd near the sultan restaurant. There’s escape rooms, the shaheed park is BEAUTIFUL and free! plenty of new malls are opening you just need to look for the good spots 😉

    This video was so interesting and informative. You both did a great job of explaining a lot of helpful information! It would be great if you could do a video on your experience(s) as an American woman living in Kuwait. I feel like your videos have been very eye opening for me about living in a Muslim country. It would be great to learn about costumes and experiences related to dress, etc.

    This video is right on time! Did you keep your US Number? If so, are you still paying your phone bill from the US or do you only have a Kuwait phone number? Thanks for the video! Super helpful! Also, DeAndrea which grade are you teaching?

    • @TeamJones
      @TeamJones  7 років тому +1

      +Sunny Daze I am so happy it helped. But I did keep my US number at first but then realized that I wasn't using it that much so I closed my line and switched over to a Kuwaiti number which was cheaper and it helped having it while I was searching for a job. And I was able to still contact my family through FB messenger.
      I am currently not teaching but when I did it was preschoolers. Thank you for connecting to my channel.😊☺

    Your body can get used to the water there believe me but we are just used to so many chemicals in our water. I've been outside the US and drunk water from different places and use the water and cooking had no problem. Your body may have to first get used to it but it will eventually.

  • @lifeiszain
    @lifeiszain 7 років тому +2

    no one drinks the water even the locals all over the gcc

    • @TeamJones
      @TeamJones  7 років тому

      Oh wow, I didn't know that.

    • @lifeiszain
      @lifeiszain 7 років тому +1

      Yes because it's a desert and lots of parts of the GCC countries water is imported and it takes a lot of money to put all of the correct chemicals and the extra distillation process takes more money so they feel that water that's going for toilets or washing dishes does it need extra chemicals. when it's just going to go down the drain. I mean it's not so dirty that you can't wash your dishes and shower with it but you just don't want to drink it all the time you know it doesn't make you sick I mean sometimes in my house we didn't have water and I would drink it if water delivery didnt come on time. I didn't die nothing would happen to you. it's not so bad but it's just doesn't have the extra it's not extra extra extra extra extra clean with chemical you know and I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and i am saudi and part of my family is from Kuwait and some live in the UAE and nobody drinks the water from the faucet and we have lived here our whole life... and if you ever took a sip of it or something like that I'm sure you wouldn't get sick cuz if you shower in it and you don't get sick then you're perfectly fine I was doing charity work in Sudan and I was taking the shower and I only drink bottled water and I don't know like something got into my skin or something like that and I got extremely extremely sick and I didn't even drink the water well that's what the doctor said something my body was not used to got into my pores through my skin on my hair or something like that and my body couldn't fight it off I mean I was sick for like weeks I thought I was dying I never been that sick in my life so I'm positive that your water is relatively okay

    putting people in Jail for eating during Ramadan !? 0_0 like people would actually look who's eating and whose not and tell the police!!? Girl I'm a Muslim girl from Saudi Arabia and i never heard of that or saw it. but the logic tells me that no Muslim would do that as he or she would know for a fact they would have the people eyes on them all the time. and I don't see why a non Muslims should be put in jail for doing that since they are not Muslims.

    • @mayalqaabi1129
      @mayalqaabi1129 7 років тому +1

      AsiaTv4Arab actually we do have a law in Kuwait prohibited to eat in public places during Ramadan, you will pay a fine or do some jail time depending on the situation of course specially at workplaces .. it's not an Islamic role I know but it's a cultural thing I guess

    • @sSq09
      @sSq09 7 років тому +1

      eating "in public" is not permitted is illegal "during" the month of ramadan only ,but you can basically do what ever you want if its not in public .... to be honest that law is meant as a tool to discourage eating in public during ramadan and the penalty is rarely implemented.

    Kuwait is not under Islamic law!! We are Muslim country by identity only we make laws in parliament
    Banned alcohol & pork in Kuwait happen in 60’s by parliament not because of Islamic law! But for social reasons
    Plus if a man & woman having a relationship without getting married it’s not against the law it’s not like the Dubai !! in Kuwait is different law, non married can live together & have a sexual relationship without worrying but they should be both above 21 years old but forcing a partner to have relationship or rape is against the law & will lead to jail.
