Hello, I have been to Senja several times. At the end of October the roads can still be passable. Often only the mountains are covered with snow. In my case, however, the onset of winter was early and the roads were icy and snow-covered. The roads are very curvy, sometimes narrow and steep. In addition, road conditions can change rapidly. I definitely recommend studded tires. When there is snow, the roads are cleared quite quickly, but not grit. Accordingly, it is slippery and you have to be very careful, especially on inclines and in curves. The same goes for pedestrians, either buy shoes with spikes or bring spikes to put on the shoes. By December at the latest, wintry conditions prevail and the above is mandatory. If you are not used to these conditions, you should simply drive very carefully and let faster vehicles overtake you at the first opportunity.
