The box is moving down the conveyor with static friction that keeps the box in place such that it doesn't fly off. I assume that there's no kinetic friction in the direction of motion?

Why in the diagram is an pointing outward? Shouldn’t an be pointing inward since it is center seeking?
thats what I was thinking. Shouldnt friction and centripetal (center-seeking) force be pointed towards the center?
