If I turn the threshold and gain up pass 1 it starts chattering like there's emi in the area so I have to keep the threshold below zero and the gain below 40 or 50. Hope my machine is not messed up.l
@@horseman528 emi can be a problem, if it goes away when your at a different location then there is nothing wrong with your detector. It’s been a long time since I had my F5 but even with my other detectors you have to run it for the area you are in.
@@horseman528 as I remember the F5 is a really chatty machine, just run it as hot as your can and don’t worry about it. One good thing about the F5 is it separates really good.
I know this is an older video. I run the Eurotek pro with Mars tiger coil on it,,both run off the 7.7 khz platform,,really love my detector, wish it had the option of ground balance and frequency shift on it. Do you think the f5 with Mars Tiger Coil on will go deeper and run more stable than eurotek ? I'm thinking it should by all logic,,but never seen any depth test with larger dd coils on the f5. Right now I can get 9"to10" reliably sometimes better in right situations,,my Hope's are they are the same detector, bieng the f5 though can run more stable with its added features.
Thanks for the comment. It’s been a long time since I have done anything with the F5. After looking at the eurotek I don’t think you will gain much doing what you want. With my experience with different coils you may gain some depth but most of the time your buying different coil to either cover ground or get between trash (smaller coil). Yes you might gain some in depth but it depends on where you live. Here in Wisconsin USA most of our coins are not that deep, so having a fast detector help to find those last few coins others have missed because they couldn’t separate trash from coins. Hope this helps. I have had the F5, Minelab Safari with 6”, 11”, 15” and the Minelab Equinox 6”, 11”, 15” along now with the Deus2.
Darrin Smith Thanks for pointing that out. It is in the instructions and I forgot to include it in the video, but since the F5 constantly monitors the ground balance I was just showing the quick way of changing the balance if it was to far out from your first setting. Again thanks for pointing that out...
Thanks William so much! I just bought one of these in an auction hopping to use it for beach combing.
Good info. I watched this awhile back, but still come back to check it out once in awhile.
thanks for explaining phase lock button...no other video ever has..not sure owners of machine knew it was that simple ..to just push the button..lol
fastjunkie Glad I could help...
Thank you this was very helpful just got mine and wanna go through my backyard for practice
My ground balance knob seems to be able to be pushed in and out. What does pushing the ground balance knob do?

@@horseman528 I know I had problems with mine, I put a ferrite choke as close to the connector by the box. Helped some.

When you ground balance, I thought you were supposed to move the detector up and down? Is there a reason why this wasn't done may I ask please?

William Burch thank you for your response. :-) I appreciate it! :)
