I have started to do some follow up on Tje Young Lords and I'm very impressed by what they did. I was a a little boy when they started up. It touch my heart when they took o er the Church and opened it up to community. 8 also did some research on the young Lords and I'm really excited about what they had done. They are a inspiration to me and others that care about those in need. I'm planning on getting the book about them. How can I find other books and information about them? . Thank Young Young Lords for reaching out and helping the people. Power to the People!! Long live The Young Lords.
I hate when they call us Latinos. Puerto Ricans are not Latinos, Latinos is a term created by the US government to love every Spanish-speaking state or country together. It’s like lumping in the United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, etc. and calling them one name. Puerto Rico is from the islands and Mexico is from Central America which are two different parts of the world so why lump us all together we are who we are not what you say we are
This is a real simplification but they’re like Latin Black Panthers. The Rainbow Coalition of Black Panthers, Young Lords, and Young Patriots were radical leftist groups that took direct action and opposed the capitalist and racist State. They formed a movement of libertarian socialism, activism, social justice, and government reform. Highly influential in the era
The Young Lords and the wider Rainbow Coalition weren't libertarian socialist and neither was their movement. I'm in favor of libertarian socialism, but I think we have to be historically accurate. The Young Lords and the Black Panthers were both for socialism and communism, but their vision of each of those goals were influenced by the People's Republic of China. They heavily drew from the writings of Mao Tse Tung, particularly his Little Red Book. Their organizations were based on democratic centralism and they saw themselves as Marxist-Leninists. Each of these things are leagues away from libertarian socialism.

Is it really as you say because some people got killed by government agencies just because they were allowed to what's your opinion on that? I'm just writing a storyline with a couple characters set in 1930s so this would help. I like adding some people's takes on what they think about it.
@@nevernoah3741 So Puerto Ricans with the own "thing" type of idea that's like happening now with BLM and all that like separation. I'm just asking if that's what your applying?
